2:41 that somehow was on the night of the double homicide and detectives gained acess to the Murdaughs property for the first time they found a blue ATV with damage and they took paint samples from it. That's how the Smith case came to be reopened. You would have to watch the original footage of the live footage from the Murdaughs crime scene to see it happen. It was a shot of three detectives walking up the drive and talking closely from the kennels before it got dark and before it rained.

The fact that Alex and Randy showed up to the "crime" scene and Randy offered pro bono help is SOOOO sketchy. They wanted to insert themselves right away to control the narrative. A family rotten to the core, and the people who allowed them to do all they have done are also rotten.

Wow, how dangerous to allow a family like the Murdaughs to be a law into themselves. It makes you wonder how many criminal activities this family has covered up?
Stephen comes across as a very handsome, loving, intelligent, family orientated man. He was at the beginning of his life. I cannot imagine how his family have kept going as they have.
His mother is herself an amazing, strong, caring, loving, warrior who’ll get to the truth. What a mother to have!
I wish Stephen’s family can eventually get on with life in the best way they can.
I’m so glad the 48 hours have taken up a Stephen’s case. It means a lot more of us now know of Stephen and what an amazing man he was.

@phantagirlable I consider it a cover up because just for the fact alone it was a family of lawyers, everyone refused to go near them or deal with it. If it weren’t for the endless pursuit of justice things would have turned out much differently. I have seen too much evidence of people not being held accountable because of the position they uphold, and this would have ended up the same way. We also still do not know if those boys were responsible for hitting him, which would make my theory even more plausible. I think law enforcement would have immediately looked into any regular citizen yet they were too scared to even touch these guys in the beginning.

Why would they release anything for you before it goes to a Grand Jury? What you want to know and what you should know at this point is let the Grand Jury decide on first. If the put what evidence they have out there now, don't you think more coverups would happen. They keep it tight to the vest until who needs to know gets to hear some facts of the case to determine what charges and to whom the charged will be. I'm sure they have plenty from his phone to bring to the Grand Jury. As you heard, mom isn't even privy to that info yet. Why would the armchair investigators demand to know? The Justice system works very slow sometimes, especially in this situation, but trust it is moving and churning along.

Unbelievable, unimaginable, tragic, heartbreaking, unfortunate, unforgivable, and most definitely left behind by the police, sheriff, and judicial system.. I’m ashamed to even type these ungodly words into one sentence. I wish and hope nothing but a swift recovery and healing for the family. Rest easy Steven.. you will always be remembered and loved. UA-camr Eric Alan has been doing a solid investigation of the Murdaugh story ever since the murders occurred. Alan', a native of the Lowcountry, understands the region and its people. Two years ago before others were covering it, he analyzed the Stephen Smith death and interviewed Stephen's mother Sandy Smith. Alan's 14 episodes on the Murdaugh case are well worth a look--his exclusive drone footage effectively maps out all the twists and turns in this whole crazy, bloody, fascinating story.

Yup! And that's why they never released the "very interesting information" that was on the cellphone. Wish the mother had held onto his cellphone and had it unlocked elsewhere so she could have seen what was there firsthand. Before it probably got conveniently "deleted" or "corrupted" while they were downloading it.

This video made clear as day that the kid walked down the middle of the road and got hit by a passing car. The conspiracists prefer something more complicated, of course, nevermind the evidence.

I don't think it is fair to drag the entire family through the mudd just bcz the father Murdaugh was a murderer. If we assume anything, it could be connected to Alex, but not necessarily indicating Buster was a murderer just because his dad was a deranged murderer.

Why was so much of this special about events and incidents that don’t directly pertain to Stephen and his death?
