Ie: the descendants of Jacob, anyone who keeps the laws they are commanded by the Creator are considered His. 7 groupings of laws for nonjews, and the shulchan aruch for Jews. Excellent; but is there a flaw in saying it was pointless posting guards outside the tomb on Saturday? I mean, if Jesus died, and was buried, late on Friday afternoon , wouldn't it become Saturday at sundown ? So if guards were placed at the start of Saturday they would have been there all through the night, and able to deter body thieves
How silly this narrative is, to even put a guard outside the tomb on Shabbat which is Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. Jews have a law called "Muktzeh" on Shabbat where we can't touch or move an item not related to Shabbat, for instance a rock or stone. How much more for a dead body??? The NT was written by gentiles who are ignorant of the Sabbath laws.
Why would Jews steal a body on Shabbat to make themselves impure? Once a Jew touches a dead body, he becomes impure. He has to go to the mikvah and be immersed to become pure again.
In Judaism, when a Jew dies on Shabbat for instance, you can't do anything with it until it is Motsei Shabbat---until Shabbat is over and when you accept the separation of Shabbat called havdalah. Jews can't mourn on Shabbat. Mourning is suspended.

The purpose Jesus made the prophecy of Jonah was to PROVE his claim as the Messiah before the Jewish leaders (Matthew 12:38-40) which he FAILED miserably . . .. Jesus' purpose of his coming was NOT to die for sin but to preach to the Jewish people to REPENT and the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 4:17, Luke 4:43).

Consider the fact his followers were not expecting his resurrection and came AFTER Sabbath to wash the body. That's the record. Another point however is it's doubtful they would. The stench and decomposition even in a short time in a hot sealed tomb would make it prohibitive. The posting of guards even if it was sundown Fri doesn't remove the record that they waited till after Sabbath. It's nutty because post Sabbath would be sundown Sat technically very early Sunday a.m. yes. Would they have gone to wash him in the dark? My opinion is no. They would need torch lights and that would bring attention to them. I think the narratives also say he was seen walking and thought to be the gardener. A gardener would not be there at night plus in such darkness he wouldn't probably be seen. I'm sorry dear hearts because I know how hard you are holding on but it just doesn't pan out. Did I cover it all? Here is another one. The narrative says he rose on the 3rd day the first day of the week meaning Sunday. From Fri afternoon to Sun morning regardless of when on Sun it is only 48 hrs give or take. You cannot do anything about that except change the death to Thrs. but then it wasn't Passover. So it's a huge conundrum in every way. Another thing you don't know about is CRUX also known as the constellation called the Southern Cross. It's in southern hemisphere and sinks below horizon at winter solstice for 3 days then rises 1 degree ascending to it's highest position at spring equinox. His presumed resurrection on SUNday is an allegory of the sun king ruler and light of the world. Ancient man's times for planting and harvesting like using the Farmers Almanac. I appreciate all the information. What is a christian to do now? How do we relate to G-d? There are no synagogues opening up to non-jews. No Rabbis are teaching non-jews how to reach out to G-d. We are used to praying, and worshipping, and enjoying G-d's presence, or so we thought. But now, knowing what you're teaching us, it is pretty empty. What is our way forward? I guess I'm one of the gentiles asking a Jew to teach us.... I would appreciate any leads.

In Christianity, if you believe in Jesus and God then your sins will go away, so you can commit great sins again. In Judaism, sins carry punishments of any form that you will see later in your life. I know this all too well. I grew up in NYC in an Irish-Italian Catholic neighborhood across the street from a Catholic Church. Every year on Halloween, I had to be careful going home as the christians would wait outside of Hebrew school. Chats of christ killers as they would chase us. They outnumbered us swinging socks full of colored chalk hitting us over our heads and body. Bad memories and experiences.

Well that's the entire thing. The rabbi consistently wants to pounce on Christians, yet you think he would have some animosity towards the Romans who destroyed his second temple. However, you only hear crickets from him on the matter.

The term Satan in Revelation is not what most Christians have been taught. It is not a person. The Jewish mind didn't think that way. The word satan (not capitalized, since neither Hebrew or Greek have such), merely means adversary. Roman Catholics later personified this satan as a fallen angel. This is so wrong. God can be your adversary or "satan" and this a legitimate use of the term. Jesus, Paul and the rest of the Apostles saw their adversary as a body entity, a corporate body. When Paul talks about bodies, he's not talking about individual bodies, but corporate bodies. The "body of Christ" to Paul is the corporate body, made up of believers. Satan is the corporate body of their persecutors-the unbelieving Jews. Josephus himself said that the Jewish leadership had rebelled against God, so this is nothing new to Paul and Jesus. The Law guaranteed that no enemy would overcome his people unless they violated Torah. Well guess what? They did. Josephus, a Jew, not a Christian, agrees with this. Many Jews at the time knew that the leadership was corrupt and had been so for a very long time. They gave no rest to the land or to widows or the poor. 2:11 As always Rabbi Tovia leaves things out of context (as he did with leaving out the words "nearly everything" in Hebrews 9:22 in one of his videos) -- If we skip back a mere 4 verses to John 8:40 you can see Jesus is calling the Jews who want to kill Him the seed of the devil, not Jews in general. Same goes for Jesus' condemnation of the "Synagogue of Satan" in Revelation; He is not condemning all Jews but is condemning the Jews trying to kill (or hand over to Romans) the Christians in Smyrna and Philadelphia. It's perfectly rational to call people who want to kill you and your followers the seed of the devil.

These "Jews" were the "satan" of the Christians. Satan being the "adversary" of the first century Christians. The Greek word for adversary is translated "satan" and this is correct. Satan is not a person, but a body of people. The ancient world thought of corporate bodies first, before the individual body. It is quite false to say that Paul is not writing to Jewish believers in most of his epistles, since wherever Paul went, he first entered the synagogue and preached first to the Jew. Of course there were already Jewish converts in those synagogues too. These "first fruit" Christians were naturally Jewish. Since Paul believed that those were the last days of that present Jewish economy (what Jesus called "this wicked generation"), then yes, Paul believed that judgment was soon to come to those of his own people. Josephus even agreed with this. Paul states this more than once-that judgment was soon to come upon that generation. You must remember, that Paul himself had once persecuted Christians and this he did, via the leaders of Jerusalem. Again, Josephus agreed with Jesus and Paul and the rest of the Apostles. Those same Jewish leaders were still persecuting this new "sect." So to call your persecutors "adversaries" is not anti-semite. You are just saying that they oppose you-which they clearly did and Singer will agree with this. Now if they had violated Torah by killing the prophets (which they did), and also not taking care of the widow and orphan, which they were not, then God's judgment, per the blessing and curses was not only proper, but was prophesied for those last days bu Moses himself. A time when their city would be desolated and their alter ground to chalkstone. Did this happen? Yes. Judgment came to Jerusalem via their enemies, just the same as it had come in the past. Coming in the cloud is the language of the prophets for judgment from another nation. Jesus said he would come in a cloud, and did so 40 years later. This was the new exodus and Jerusalem, was called Egypt and Sodom by the Apostles, just like the prophets of old had said. When you become like an enemy, God treats you like an enemy.

You might be surprised how much more you under stand the Bible than any Christian ministers. The minister I had at Seattle Unity who really knew the “Old Testament “ was a man who grew up in an Orthodox Jewish family in New York. He always had it with him. It was so unusual that during a class breakout session I mentioned that I really like that about him. A couple of congregation members refused to believe our minister carried a Bible. Now after following Rabbi Singer and Rabbi Friedman for a couple of years, if I have a question about the original books I check with a Rabbi!

I don't get something: Christians believe that Jesus died for their sins, they venerate the cross and/or the crucifix, they believe Jesus had to die so he could come back to life and go to heaven. If Christians believe all of the above, then why are they angry at the Jews for (supposedly) having caused his death? The Christians should just say it was part of God's plan, because otherwise, how could Jesus have died for their sins?
This seems to me to be a contradiction.
