@Rual: The "Orthodox Rabbi and Jews....denied it...", for the simple reason that the "New Testament" is NOT scripture that was given to man by God. It is a false, pagan, man-made, anti-God, anti-Jewish, hate-filled, replacement theology work of fiction, that preaches AGAINST what God ACTUALLY said to us at Mt. Sinai, and that God NEVER gave to us. God ABHORS human sacrifice (a purely PAGAN ritual!), therefore the 'Jesus dying on a cross for people's sins' narrative, just did NOT happen!
The ONLY scriptures God ever gave to mankind, are the Hebrew scriptures (Tanach - Hebrew Bible, comprised of Torah, the Prophets and the Writings, i.e. Psalms, Proverbs, etc.) that He gave to Moses at Mt. Sinai. He specifically told us that His words are ETERNAL (i.e. STILL in effect and binding TODAY - a LIVING document!) and that we are NOT to follow ANY other teaching than what is in His Tanach. Christianity IS another teaching, that God NEVER gave to us, therefore, we are NOT to follow its false, pagan teachings - God's orders! PLEASE do some honest research on how your false, pagan religion started, and you WILL discover that it absolutely did NOT come from God, Creator of the universe.

As someone who was a once a Catholic, and come from a family of Catholics, I love Rabbi Tovia Singer channel. I can say that Jesus spoke with metaphors, like being born again, means forgetting yours sins and your past, and become a new person, that is why they were baptizing people, it was something to be experience in this life, when it comes to Jesus being elevated to deity, John and Paul were the ones who did that,

When I was seven years old my two best friends were going to catechism classes so they could have their first communion. I asked my mother if it wasn't time for her to start teaching me about God? (She was a staunch Protestant, but unorthodox in her beliefs and to her Jesus was a prophet.) She started reading me "Stories of the Bible". When it got to the part of Jesus saying he was the way and no one comes to the Father except through him, I remember I got angry. How DARE this Jesus fellow come between me and God? When I was in junior college I found out that Jesus was supposed to still be alive an to be God, (I had thought only Catholics erroneously believed Jesus was God) That is when I chucked Jesus right out the window.
Sorry but you got suckered. Jesus is the way to the Father. Little girl easy pickings for satan. Lies of the garden, my dear - 'that can't be right, he's keeping you from the true knowledge'. There's a way that seems right to a person, but only leads to death. Good news is that God offers you the free gift of salvation through Christ.

My position position agrees. Of course the term Father in the Jewish context. Metaphorical. NOT that God has a "Son" or that God is an actual Father of someone. God has got Son by the Ton in the Bible. "Son of God" in the Jewish context is an innocent term to say that someone is a righteous person, a man of God.

Jesus never said this. Jesus (if that was his name) said to obey and honor only God. Matthew 4:10, John 4:24, Matthew 19:17 and he said he did not come to sacrifice but to teach sinners to repent. Matthew 9:13. He never said his death would take away anyone's sins. The writers of the new testament put words in the mouth of Jesus and twisted what he said.

I did not really get that point about the conversation with Nicodemus, why couldn't it happen? I know it was something about linguistics but I have really failed to understand the point, could you please clarify Rabbi, or anyone else who had understood this?
The Rabbi is saying that the verse is a play on words in Greek, whereby the same word for "again", is also the word for "from above". This would not work in the language they would ACTUALLY have been speaking, which would have been Aramaic...
Why Jesus died on the cross for us explained in simple terms…
God is perfect in all his attributes. He is forever the same and unchanging (in the past, present, and future). That means he’s eternally perfect in holiness, love, mercy, justice, righteousness, etc. Since he is perfect in holiness, no sin can be in his presence, and since he is perfect in justice, all sin is punished. The Bible says, the wages of sin is death. This essentially means that all sin regardless of how minuscule or large the act is, will be punished. Practically speaking, let’s say a person lived his whole life and committed only one sin, a lie, he will forever be separated from god because sin is what separates us from a perfectly holy and just god. Regardless of how many good deeds this person does in their life, the wages of sin is death (spiritual and physical). That means you cannot bribe your way into heaven with good deeds. Also, god cannot just forgive you because even though he is love and merciful, he is eternally just and holy and all sin is punished. Imagine for a moment, that you get a speeding ticket and in court you tell the judge how sorry you are and that you will never speed again and you beg for forgiveness, and that you also are a very generous person who has donated thousands of dollars to the poor and who has volunteered thousands of hours helping others. A just judge will say good for you, and I’m glad you won’t speed again, but the fine of $200 still needs to be paid. Imagine how much more holy, righteous, and just god is.
That being said, this is where the cross comes in to play. Jesus lived a holy life (meaning he committed no sin) and since he was unjustly punished and put to death, death could not hold him (penalty of sin is death) and therefore he rose from the dead, defeating death (Revelation 1:18 “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”). Since sin is a transgression against god, god was the only one capable of providing a path for forgiveness/salvation. Sin against a holy god requires a perfect/eternal punishment/sacrifice. The cross is where god’s perfect justice (sin is punished) and mercy (forgiveness for our sins) meet. God’s perfect love for us is displayed through the cross because out of his own free will he made a path for salvation and a way for us to be justified (forgiveness of sin) before god. Jesus lived a life we have not lived (sinless), died the death we should have died, and paid the price we could not pay. That is why Jesus say’s I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one can come to the father except by me, because there is no other way to god or path for salvation. All of us have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of god, and the only way to be forgiven is to believe and put your faith in Jesus and into what Jesus has done for us on the cross! Praise all be to the King and Savior the Lord God Almighty Jesus Christ!!!

There is some criticism of the book but what Smith claims in his work seems to directly apply to the gospel according to "John"

Paul is a hack. His letters were not canonized in the first writings of the new testament. They were later added. Paul was not a prophet, or a disciple. Jesus did not choose him to be one of the disciples because Paul was not from the 12 tribes of Israel. Paul was from Tarsus. He had no right saying anything.

Number two, the physical resurrection of Jesus did not happen or else that would have been his "second coming" so that theory is false. Number three, Jesus did not "breathe" into anybody's nostrils after he died because again...he did not physically resurrect. Only God breathed into Adam's nostrils to give him a living soul. Others were born with his living soul but just having the breath of life does not guarantee that you will live forever. Adam sinned. He lost his eternal life. Noah and his family had the breath of life and were saved but others ALSO had the breath of life in Noah's day and they drowned! Genesis 2:7, 7:15, 7:22) Jesus is not God and Jesus could not do this to anyone. Only God can do this. Paul lied about seeing Jesus after he died as did the story in John after his death. Whoever rewrote the new Testament (possibly the Romans and Josephus) changed the real story. Paul is just a minister no different than Franklin Graham is and the Christian ministers believe the lies that were added. I know because God lives inside me. God is a spirit. When I read, I ask God what it means. Sometimes I am given dreams and when I wake up, I find a confirmation to what I dreamed when I start reading the bible. Think whatever you like but Paul is a nobody.

Read Hebrews 11 and you see the old testament looks ahead to Jesus and the cross and the new testament look back to Jesus and the cross:). Also, if you deny Jesus you will be denied before God(See, Mark 8:38, Matthew 10:33, 2Peter 2:1, 1John 2:22).
In my journey of moving away from Christianity, I decided that Mark presented the most accurate picture of Jesus. What began my learning of this was reading a biography of Albert Schweitzer by James Brabazon. I found out that Schweitzer was a great Bible scholar. He established that Jesus was a Jew of his time. This had a major influence in university religious studies. I later read other books with this historical approach; “Jesus the Jew” by Vermes; “The Passover Plot” by Schonfield. I also read some of the Dead Sea Scroll. This got me away from the Paul & Greek philosophy dominated parts of the New Testament.
I looked at just Mark understanding it from what the Jews were going through at that time; being under Roman rule; having the face of the god/emperor shoved in their face every day on coins. Having statues of Greek/Roman gods on their land. The people watched as those loyal Jews who resisted this religious oppression were tortured by being nailed to crosses all over Israel.
- Reading Mark from that view, I saw that Jesus & the apostles wanted what the Essenes in the Dead Sea wanted, what John the Baptist wanted; that God should intervene to overthrow the Romans & liberate Israel. And that liberation should happen in the lifetime of the people hearing that message.
Saying that reading Mark is more accurate, or less accurate to understand Jesus is like saying you know Jesus better by studying Trump than Pence. Pence is more like Matthew. Mark is like Trump. One was probably an apostle when Jesus was crucified. The other was a teenager from a different country, who was a witness to the crucifixion as a teenager. Mark needed others to tell him what Jesus did in the tetrarchy of Galilee. That is why Mark is so much briefer. Mark leaned on what he knew personally.
You need all the witnesses to gain a fuller picture, which includes all the witnesses.

* Mark’s Gospel was the first to be written. It is the closest to the life of Jesus with less influence from Paul compared with the other Gospels. The Gospel of Mark gives a closer portrayal of a man who was an observant Jew of his time.

Where Paul calls following the law garbage and the Jerusalem Jesus follower community in Acts 21 were zealous for the law.
I am Jewish and I have a BA in English. I do not interpret the verse "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life" the way many Christians do and good theologians like Paul Tillich would never interpret it that way either. I approach it that we are all sons and daughters of G-d created in His image and likeness who in our essential nature are spirit, that is, our soul is divine, eternal and we were, are and will ever be made of G-d stuff! When Jesus said "When you see me you see the Father, I understand that G-d can manifest in any one of us. If we have the proper "poverty" of spirit, in that our wills are subordinate to the Almighty, that when Rabbi Tovia speaks with wisdom, who is to say that the Holy Spirit is not speaking through Tovia. The still small voice mentioned in Ephesians. When Jesus says in poetic terms I am the Way, he is acting, in my interpretation, as exemplar, showing us that though we may find it impossible, one needs to try to live one's life in a certain way. One, like Jesus, needs to try to experience and testify to the beauty in this world, but one must also bear one's cross, too, one must be creative like the Father and finally, one needs to attempt to transform the evils around one into the good. This is how Jesus lived and the four paths he walked. We have to try to do this too. When we take a false step, we need, each of us, to repent and say we are sorry. Like a 12 step program, we need to constantly turn things over to the Higher Power. And do a fifth step to apologize to other when we trespass. Then, I am... the TRUTH... If one cannot try to see the Truth of one's humanity, how one affects others, in order to repent and show G-d you know you have done wrong, then if one constantly deceives oneself and others, how can he possibly think that he can return to G-d in any glorious manner. The pure of heart may see G-d but not the Ego Centered person who in his life on Earth will add nothing to THE LIFE. So, I see Jesus like the Burning Bush with G-d speaking through him. Jesus is Divine just like we all are, he was egoless. In the crucifixion he wears a crown of thorns just like the Burning Bush had thorns. The Sacred Heart painting portrays Jesus as having a flame that burns eternal from his heart, and again this is just like the burning bush in Exodus. If I at least try, as a son of God that Jesus said we are ("Our Father who art in Heaven.") G-d is our Father, then I can accept that G-d manifested through Jesus so man could get closer to Him... closer to Hashem, not to Jesus. If I rid the story of Jesusidolatry and paint Jesus as the 2nd Adam, a man with a Divine soul just like mine, then I am believing that we can all allow G-d to work in us and through us if G-d even wants to work in us. Meister Eckhart say all of this that I am stating here in his sermons from the 13th Century. I do not view Jesus as any more or less divine than I myself consider myself to be, being made of G-d stuff in my essential nature since I have an immortal soul and I am spirit. Therefore, the verse, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life... only through me does one go to the Father" is a statement of the way to live life, to face the Truth of one's humanity and bring life to the world. To fulfill one's mission on earth in this life by constantly turning your life over to Hashem, of understanding that the Hashem has the power, not even Jesus had that power to even raise the dead. Ego-centered living leads in the opposite direction, to attachments to money, houses, and leads to greed and those who travel that road are in spiritual darkness... I cannot believe that Jews go to Hell because they don't accept Christ as their Savior... this is lame. the chosen people brought G-d to the Gentiles. Jesus came first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. Boy, has he failed if Jews can never be saved. Hashem is the Ssavior, only Him. If He manifests through one of HIs children, say, for instance, through Jesus, so be it. If I can touch G-d, be close to Him, Hashem, then I don't believe that the egoless Jesus is standing in the way. I interpret these lines differently. Jesus could be looked at as the empty, egoless vessel through which Hashem chose to express Himself... Similarly, G-d is forever co-creating within me. the still small voice in Ephesians... The standard church way of interpretation makes no sense to me. I reject it. As for the Crucifixion, I interpret that differently too. Let's use as an example the idea that my loved one is going up her Calvary because she is dying of Cancer. and at the end of it all, I believe that she will be relegated to a coffin at Forest Lawn Cemetery for all eternity. We cry out to G-d, "where were You when the holocaust happened?" Well, I can interpret that G-d in Jesus died on the cross and faced spiritual death and that Jesus, in oneness with G-d, the Father, did not go into a tomb for long but rose to Heaven. God here shows me that my loved one is not going into a dark casket but will rise in the same way as Jesus did, in oneness with his Father, to mansions that have been prepared. This is the Gospel or Good News of the Kingdom as far as I am concerned. I don't believe in bloodletting and the typical idea that Hashem requires 16 pints of blood from His one and only Son. Christianity, in my way of interpretation, is more complex in its metaphysics than Judaism but can bring peace to the Christian and non-Jew who needs G-d's comfort. Christian Theology does NOT have to be full of Jesusidolatry... I am not a Christian, or a theologian, but merely a humble Jew with a BA in English and I just gave you my bluebook examination final test on one of many ways to better interpret John 14.
Dear Rabbi Singer, I wish you'd also address John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me" since this verse makes it clear that the author of the Gospel of John believed that there was "God" and "also" another entity that needed to be believed in...as if belief in God alone isn't enough. This, needless to say, violates the first two commandments and is a clear compromise of monotheism. The Lord our God is ONE, so there is not an "also" that needs to be believed in and worshiped.

I don't believe that Jesus is the way, truth, or life. I never did. I grew up Catholic by force because my ancestors were Sephardic Jews and one had to convert to Christianity or die. There is simply no other way to get to heaven than the merits of the God-Man Jesus Christ. The gulf between sinful man and the all-holy God cannot be bridged in any other way. Each of the Gospels address the different aspects of the Lord Jesus.
Matthew presents Jesus Christ as The Messiah
Mark presents Jesus as the Suffering Servant
Luke presents Him as the Son of Man
John presents Him as the Son of GOD.
It's important to know this because that's why the different Gospel writers spoke of different events that may not appear in all four Gospels.
How does John's inclusion of Nathanael and Nicodemus and Lazarus and the Samaritan Woman and the Beloved Disciple support the idea that Jesus is the Son of God? (The synoptic gospels don't have any of these characters.)

It's been a year. Do you still believe that or have you found out that Isaiah 7: 10-16 in context was a sign for King Ahaz. And that the young woman, an almah in Hebrew vs. virgin-betulah in Hebrew, was already pregnant. The passage tells us that when her child whose name would be Immanuel and still toddling that his [Ahaz] worries about Assyria would be in the past. The name Immanuel as its meaning says "God is with us" ergo God was with them against the Assyrians.

I just finished reading a very detailed & scholarly book on this whole thing, “Saving Jesus”, ny Miceal Ledwith, an “ex” Catholic priest who worked at the Vatican as theological consultant to the Pope....
He lays out a very different Jesus with a very different message & offers up a way to “de-program” yourself from the harm this twisted theology has caused good Christians everywhere. It’s so imbedded in our minds it’s become a sub conscious program of the suffering savior.
Yes, there is a big section on the Book of John & why it is different from the other books. He writes that it looks like Jesus May have taught in a kind of poetry! As John’s book is written as such, implying that it was memorized. And of course, Jesus taught in parables so it does make sense.

Mark was a teenager when Jesus was alive. Matthew and John were full grown men. What each of these men remembered as witnesses was a result of their individual character. According to a strong tradition, Mark spent time with Simon Peter. But how do you explain what one ignorant fisherman, Peter, remembers, and what a different ignorant fisherman, John, remembers. This type of problem only occurs to people who have never spent time among the uneducated, or even illiterate. The fact is that some people under the same conditions, grow up to be very different people, concerned about different things. That's why Jesus practically takes a jackhammer approach to Peter, Jesus says to James and John ye know not what spirit he are of. This is also a rebuke, but for two thoughtful men to think about. Peter always plows ahead rashly. John thinks about everything he does. Preserving the difference between uneducated men is a point of realism you can see in the Bible. It is not just stereotypes.
If you have several men with good access to a leader, and ask them to write an account, they will all write a very different account, but some things will occur to all.

"The prophet" in this case is Hosea, and what the prophecy actually says is "When ISRAEL was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son." (Hosea 11:1). This prophecy was Hosea speaking in the PAST TENSE about G-d delivering the Jews from bondage. If it was about Jesus (never mind it says it's about Israel) Hosea would have written it in the future tense, and said "out if Egypt I WILL CALL my son." It's not even a prophecy.

I watch this channel very intently, as I feel that Tovia poses serious challenges to some of the doctrines of Christianity. This video, however, was not so compelling for me, due to the fact that a "high Christology" existed well before the earliest gospel of Mark in the letter of Paul to the Philippians (chapter 2 -which I *believe" is fairly uncontroversial in ascribing genuine authorship to Paul, as well as an early dating). There is also the letter to the Colossians (chapter 1), though there is disagreement on authorship of Paul here. Nonetheless, I feel that Philippians poses a serious problem to any contention that the development of a high Christology occurred over time, by contrasting narratives in John with the other synoptic gospels (which post-date Philippians). My sincere regards to Tovia for his other challenging videos though. Shalom.

I can strengthen your question further because the Carmen Christi (the Latin phrase) may very well be a preliterary text. Meaning, this may be a hymn that predates the book of Philippians itself. This is often a graduate level course which explores possible preliterary “hymns and creeds,” and is the topic of much scholarly discussion. Moreover, scholars are more divided over John 1:1-18 than any other passage in the NT.
In short, the difference, in my view, between Philippians 2:6:11 and John’s prologue is significant: In the former, Paul declares that Jesus did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped (gk. Harpagmos) (ESV). The context: Paul’s point to his followers is a warning: do not boast. Rather, humble yourself the way that Jesus humbled himself! Jesus didn’t take what didn’t belong to him. As a result, God rewarded Jesus and raised him up. Jesus is definitely not equal to God. According to Paul, God bestowed upon Jesus the glory given to the Father in Isaiah 45. In Paul’s view, Jesus is given what he did not have. The Logos of John, on the other hand, is given nothing. He is the Logos; he didn’t need to earn that status. Again, what that means exactly is the subject of enormous discussion. What is germane is that the Christology of the prologue is much higher than that of the Carmen Christi. Great question.

While the idea of boasting normally connotes arrogance in English, this is not always the case in Paul's thought. This raises the possibility that the Jew may not be here boasting in his own-self accomplishment indeed, he is boasting "in God" or in his relationship with God, which in the Jewish mind is a relationship of grace.
The Jew may be "glorying in the Lord" , but his boasting is misplaced since he believes his relationship with the Lord is from Torah. The Jew may indeed be arrogant over the Gentile in believing that he has a grace-filled relationship with God through Torah, but it is not a boast of self-accomplishment, but a boast "in God," based on one's relationship with God (through Torah), as many contemporary commentators have noted.
Because of the difficulty some modern readers may have in understanding the difference between arrogantly boasting in self-accomplishment and arrogantly boasting in one's relationship to God, an analogy may be helpful. Imagine two little boys bickering with each other. In the process of the conflict, one little boy adopts a superior attitude and says, "Well, my dad is better than your dad." In this case, the child is arrogantly boasting of his relationship with his dad, even though he is not boasting of his self-accomplishment. He is not citing any actions he has done as evidence for his favored status; he is simply holding forth his favored status (a relationship with the better dad) as grounds for boasting.
As a devout catholic I can boast about Catholicism/Christianity being superior to Judaism not of my arrogance but relationship with God.

One of the problems with Christianity is that most Christian Sunday sermons are either solely about the New Testament or are Joel Osteen style sermons that have very little to do with either the New or Old Testament. Most of Joel Osteen’s sermons resemble improved motivational speaker Tony Robbins type lectures on how to be successful in life.
Deuteronomy 4:2 basically says not to substitute other Joel Osteen type material for the Old Testament that supports Christianity’s adulterous, idolatrous worship of idols, money & financial success.

The main problem with the New Testament is that in terms of a history book, it only goes back to the time of JC. The New Testament just doesn’t cover a very long time period. The Old Testament goes back to creation of the universe and covers a much larger time frame. -

There are many different ideas of when the Gospel of John was written, you just chose the 95ad time frame because it is easier to spout against. Actually very few people believe it was that late because of absolutely zero mention of the destruction of the Temple, which was kind of a big deal, in a past or present tense mentioning. Nothing in all of the new Testament scripture.
John's book of Revelation was written after all the other books he wrote, and it was obviously written before 70ad.

If the statement of John is not found in the other 3 gospels, it doesn't mean is no true. All four authors of the gospels speak different, but the central idea of the divine Jesus is always there.
Mathew convey the scene of Poncius Pilate washing his hands while the Jewish people is chanting: ¤ "His blood be on us, and on our children." Mathew 27:25

Aramaic is a very close sister language of Hebrew (Hebrew and Arabic are also closely related, but not as close as Aramaic). The reason that Jews used Aramaic for conversation is that Jews regard Hebrew as a very holy language. Thus, they always sought to use another language for conversation, and reserve Hebrew for prayer and Torah study.

Torah observant Jews regard it as a holy language, and not something to be used as everyday speech. Secular Jews were the majority in 1948, however, and prevailed. There was also controversy about even naming it "Israel". Some haredi still won't call it that today.

Re: Mark 9:1 and other verses that said that some wouldn’t taste death before the kingdom came. Yet, they are now obviously dead.
In the Tenach, there are times when God addresses a group of people telling them what will happen to them and because of their attitude, God changes his timing.
e.g. Exodus 6:6-8, God speaking, “Wherefore say unto the children of Israel … I will bring you out from the burdens of Egypt … and I will bring you unto the land which I did swear to give to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”
Obviously, most of that generation didn’t make it.
e.g. 2 Kings 20: 1, “Isaiah (said to Hezekiah), ‘Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.” (similarly Isaiah 38)
Hezekiah was given 15 more years to live.
(Interestingly, 15 Sabbatical years after Hezekiah’s (later) death, Jerusalem fell.)

The sentence 'I am the way, the truth and the life' is referring to Christs claim to be able to bring the disciples into the Messianic kingdom. He promises to bring them into the Fathers house the Messianic temple.
The Phrase 'This generation'. Refers to those who will see the kingdom. Of course the kingdom was delayed because of the Jewish rejection of Christ.
Yes the new birth is the resurrection of the dead. Nicodemus should have known this.

We are all dead in trespasses and sins. To be born again is to be spiritually alive in Christ instead of spiritually dead and it is not the will of man that does it is almighty God himself. There is not one saved sinner out there right now that cat say he done something to earn God's favor. It Is by Grace ye are saved and not yourself it is a gift of God lest any man should boast.

Up to about the 2:38 marker, there seems to be the proposition that John elevates the divinity of Jesus and Mark seems to have no notion of it. 4. The scribes were convinced Jesus was God when they saw Jesus forgive sins and healing the paralytic Mark 2:7-12
5. By Jesus references to Himself (as bridegroom) Mark 2:19; (Lord of the Sabbath) Mark 2:28 (as I Am) Mark 6:50 (picking up the reference in Daniel 7:13-14); As Son of Man Mark 8:31; Mark 9:41; as Jesus Son of David Mark 10:47-48; as Christ Mark 9:41 (The Lord) Mark 11:3
6. Jesus is recognised as God by the Apostles Mark 4:41; Mark 8:28
7. Jesus is recognised as God by various who met Him Mark 7:28; the crowds Mark 11:9-10
So, just a few references. It can be clearly seen that recognizing Jesus as the divine Son of God is a central goal of Mark’s Gospel. One day I might find the stomach to listen to rest of what this Rabbi says about the Beloved Disciple.

The Gospel of John trying to correct the false promises of Jesus' second coming from the other Gospels sounds exactly like J*****h's Witnesses trying to correct their false promises by claiming that their promises were misinterpreted, even though they were very explicit about the timing of those events. The phrase THE WAY , THE TRUTH AND LIFE and other phrases came with it is similar when one define the word BEAUTY. This means that every one of them brought the message from God, and that God is One and worship Him only. Attached to this message is how to conduct oneself on earth. Every prophet was the way to God for his people. Abraham David, Joseph, Isaiah, jeremiah Jesus Mohammed. All of them. They were the truth, because they came with a message of truth for the same god yes they were the light to their people. But Christian's pretend that only Jesus was so. Meaning if they take this verse literally t would mean all other prophets were liars and false prophet and only Jesus was true.
The prophets in the Old Testament were true but they were not the way, truth, and life because they were men. They pointed to God. Jesus claimed to be divine so he could say He was the way, truth, and the life. Any prophet denying the deity of Christ is not giving a piece of the truth. They would be false prophets.
The anonymous John is totally different from the other three gospel.
What Tovia hasn't figured out is the NT has two different audiences. The jews THEN the gentiles. And yet the prophecies to the jews are also given to the gentiles. However, Yeshua never claimed to be God. His spiritual resurrection is when he changed from a mortal man to the son of God just like all sons of men become literal sons at our spiritual death to self. Roman's 1:3-4. The reason why Tovia doesnt understand is because hes stuck on proving the trinity is a lie and doesnt show the folks that even though the the virgin birth is a lie that the definition of what constitutes the firstbegotten son is a spiritual transformation available to all humans in the NT. This is why theres so much confusion. And it doesnt help that the pagans inserted the pagan virgin birth and physical crucifixion story. Making it even harder to discern the truth. John's gospel is mainly about AFTER Yeshua was spiritually born from above and we no longer know him as in the days of his flesh. Just like WE who are born from above will be changed on our last day and we will be some kind of spiritual being we cant explain now.
