@Abraham Mani Why do you hate G_D and HIS ways so much?
Stop your idol worship in GREEK MYTHOLOGY of Christianity, which is the OPPOSITE of what G_D commanded within the JEWISH BIBLE.
The Messiah is prophesied to love G_D and he himself will learn to fear G_D and be TORAH observant.
That is OPPOSITE of the Greek book of Christianity and their, "christ" (wow...even that word is Greek, not Jewish).
Study Deuteronomy chapter 30, before it's too late.

@Iyas kelu: God gave us His ETERNAL Hebrew scriptures at Mt. Sinai - there were NO "translations". Christianity REFUSED to learn the original Hebrew, leaving them in profound darkness as to what God said to us there, which resulted in the bastardized VERSION of God's words, which Christianity blasphemously calls the "Old Testament". To that they blasphemously and arrogantly added their OWN work of fiction "New Testament", which is NOT scripture that was given to mankind by God, and actually preaches AGAINST what God said to us at Mt. Sinai.
PLEASE learn from the Rabbis, as commanded by God in Deut. 17:8-11, since they have been studying the Hebrew scriptures given to us by God, all the way back to Mt. Sinai, and have therefore been tasked by God to interpret those Hebrew scriptures for us.

@Iyas kelu: The "New Testament" has ZERO to do with the God of the Hebrew scriptures given to us at Mt. Sinai, so it WAS NOT "translated by Jewish experts". A Torah-observant Jew absolutely WOULD NOT be involved in translating pagan GARGBAGE, that preaches AGAINST what God said to us at Mt. Sinai, so if it was Jews doing the "translating", they were not ACTUAL Jews, but maybe Jews who had converted to Christianity, which means they were NO LONGER Jews, since, when a Jew converts to ANY OTHER religion, they are NO LONGER considered to be Jews by the Jewish community.
The original Hebrew was translated into English - I NEVER said you had to "read Hebrew" to read the Jewish Bible! As I've already said to you - the "New Testament" is NOT scripture that was given to mankind by God, and that God specifically told us NOT to follow ANY OTHER TEACHING than what is in the Hebrew scriptures given to us at Mt. Sinai. Psa. 19 specifically says that the Law of the Lord is PERFECT, therefore there is NOTHING FURTHER that needs to be "revealed"! PLEASE learn from the Rabbis, as commanded by God.

Hebrew was never extinct - the same Bible has been read in the same language continuously since the time of Jesus. You are clutching at straws - A virgin in today's Hebrew is the same word as that for a virgin in the Hebrew Bible. There is no "reinstated" version, Isaiah never made any mention of a virgin and Jesus himself never made any such claim. In fact, no-one made any such claim until decades after his execution when, bereft after their leader's death and desperate to infuse the stories about him with some trace of divine connotation, they scoured the Hebrew Bible for hints of language that could be used to concoct a narrative to support this.

Rabbi SInger is explaining how to read the Bible. God knows, some of the comments here are proof enough of how much work he still has to do...
Perhaps instead of making childish aspersions you would like (for once) to answer my questions:
Why would Isaiah be referring to Jesus when the woman in question is already pregnant (700 years before Jesus was born)?
Who was the father of this supposed pregnant virgin?
Was he a descendant of King David as the Messiah is supposed to be?

If you read the Book of Isaiah carefully in its entirety and keep track of the context, you don't even need knowledge in Hebrew hermeneutics to figure out that Isaiah was not talking about a conception in the far future but about his own wife and child. Also, you'll realize that later on the suffering servant of 53 is actually Israel. Isaiah is totally butchered and ripped out of context by the author of Mathew. Furthermore, in the messianic age Isaiah makes a clear distinction that the Messiah and God are two different persons, the Messiah being a mortal man, a peaceful king. The Messiah cannot be God himself in the flesh. If Jesus' followers thought he was the Messiah, they couldn't have thought that he was also God while he was a live. It is only after they came to believe that he was raised and exalted to heaven that they started thinking he was made a divine Messiah. Because people at that time believed that exaltation is divination. Christianity is not a story about how God became a man, it is a story about how a man became God and this is well attested by the words of Peter himself in the beginning of the Book of Acts.

Well said Rabbi Singer, having grown up in Christianity they do not like for you to ask them if or how much have they researched what things mean in Hebrew language, they look at you as if why bother to do that beat they assume that whoever rewrote it in English just got it right!!! And when I started studying what the interpretation actually was in Hebrew you get a DIY meaning to a lot of words, but they refuse to listen, so I just quit trying to explain it or question them. Sad but true but you got to just love the fact that they claim they are for Isreal and Jews and that's when I just say really!!!!!!! @@termination9353 there is no need to, all the answers are in the bible. Why are there thousands of denominations, don't you think since 2000 yrs. Christians keep interpreting God's word in their own way. All the prophecies in new testament are totally out of context and cherry picking. The hebrew scriptures doesn't say that the messiah will be God, (Isaiah 11:3). Isaiah 9:6 & Isaiah 7:14 has nothing to do with Jesus Christ. The Jews are totally right about the messiah and his mission, none of what God promised to the Jews was done by Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ totally failed in his mission. The story of Jesus Christ is man made, nothing is according to what God promised. With so many errors, contradictions, misapplications and misquotations the new testament cannot be God's word. The fetal flaw here is that the so called messianic prophetic portrait is largely a Christian fiction that among other things regularly relies on fabrication of prophesies as well as tendentious misquotations and misapplications of the passages in Hebrew scriptures 100%.

Satan is now transforming himself into an angel of light, to hide the deformity of his character, and thereby he and his evil angels receive that worship from a blinded, deluded people, which belongs alone to God. Christ is trampled under foot. Virtue and holiness are despised. Evil angels whisper their low, corrupt teachings in the ears of men, and they are pleased. Their carnal minds are gratified. That which comes from Satan and hell they make themselves believe comes from the spirits of the dead. Their consciences are seared as with a hot iron. When the Son of God came into the world to die, man's sacrifice, he laid aside his glory and exalted stature. His height was but a little above the general size of men. His personal appearance bore no special marks of his divine character, which would of itself inspire faith. Yet his perfect form, and dignified bearing, his countenance expressing benevolence, love and holiness, were unequaled by any then living upon the earth.
When the Life-giver rose from the dead a triumphant conqueror, and made himself known unto his disciples, he was of the same size as before his crucifixion. There were no special marks which would at once cause the men of Emmaus to know that he was the Son of God. They did not know him until he told them who he was.
But when he ascended up on high, and led a multitude of captives, escorted by the heavenly host, and was received in through the gates of the city, with angelic songs of triumph and rejoicing, I beheld with admiration and wonder, that he possessed the same exalted stature that he had before he came into the world to die for man. Said the angel, God, who wrought so great a miracle as to make Christ flesh to dwell among men, and will with his almighty power lift up fallen, degenerate, and dwarfed man, and after they are redeemed from the earth, make them "grow up as calves of the stall," could in his infinite power return to his dear Son his own exalted stature, which was his before he left Heaven, and humbled himself as a man, and submitted to the death of the cross.
It is no marvel with the angelic host that their loved Commander, after he had carried out the plan of salvation, and ascended up to Heaven, should take his own exalted stature, and be clothed with majesty and glory, which was his before he left Heaven. But it was a marvel with all heaven, that the Father suffered the Son of his bosom to lay aside his glory, and come down to earth, and submit to humiliation, and the agonizing death of the cross to save fallen man. 4aSG 118.3 - 4aSG 119.3But when he ascended up on high, and led a multitude of captives, escorted by the heavenly host, and was received in through the gates of the city, with angelic songs of triumph and rejoicing, I beheld with admiration and wonder, that he possessed the same exalted stature that he had before he came into the world to die for man. 4aSG 119.2The Son of God, heaven's glorious Commander, was touched with pity for the fallen race. His heart was moved with infinite compassion as the woes of the lost world rose up before Him. But divine love had conceived a plan whereby man might be redeemed. The broken law of God demanded the life of the sinner. In all the universe there was but One who could, in behalf of man, satisfy its claims. Since the divine law is as sacred as God Himself, only one equal with God could make atonement for its transgression. None but Christ could redeem fallen man from the curse of the law, and bring him again into harmony with Heaven. Christ would take upon Himself the guilt and shame of sin-sin so offensive to a holy God that it must separate the Father and the Son. Christ would reach to the depths of misery to rescue the ruined race. ST November 4, 1908, par. 2Before the Father He pleaded in the sinner's behalf, while the host of heaven awaited the result with an intensity of interest that words can not express. Long continued was that mysterious communing-"the counsel of peace"-for the fallen sons of men. The plan of salvation had been laid before the creation of the earth; for Christ is a lamb "foreordained before the foundation of the world"; yet it was a struggle, even with the King of the universe, to yield up His Son to die for the guilty race. But "God so loved the world, that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." O, the mystery of redemption! the love of God for a world that did not love Him! Who can know the depths of that love which "passeth knowledge"? Through endless ages, immortal minds, seeking to comprehend the mystery of that incomprehensible love, will wonder and adore. ST November 4, 1908, par. 3

Hello Tovia- I was wondering if you could clear up a point of confusion for me: In the earlier part of the video, you mentioned that the Hebrew in Isaiah 7:14 denotes that the young woman IS WITH CHILD [i.e. ALREADY pregnant], however, in the later part of the video you address Isaiah 8, and make the point that Isaiah later engages in intimacy with his wife [the prophetess] and then she conceives. The only problem is that this intimacy and subsequent conception in chapter 8 appear to take place AFTER the pregnancy in chapter 7, yet you are equating both passage selections as referencing one and the same child. Not sure how you reconcile that if it is the perfect tense that is being used in Ch. 7 [unless there is an implicit notion of an already completed act in the Hebrew perfect tense irrespective of it taking place in the future?? But if true, wouldn't this nullify your allegation of mistranslation at least to this particular point on verb tense?]. Anyway, I would be very interested in your insight regarding this. Shalom.

Presumably, no one SAW the Holy Spirit overshadow Mary and thus impregnate her. Furthermore, it was explained pretty clearly how it was a "sign" [i.e. before that child knows to choose good or bad the land of the two kings Ahaz feared would be laid to waste]. Lastly, don't you think it might be just a little odd for a righteous young Hebrew woman to give her child a Greek name, the root word of which is derived from the main pagan god [Zeus] of the Greek religion? @@termination9353 It was [and is] a common Jewish naming practice to include "names" of G_d in proper names..Elijah, Eliezer, Hezekiah, Absalom, etc, etc. [there are many, many more] Also, Immanuel literally means "G_d is with us" and it, along with its derivatives Emanuel, Manuel, Meni, Moni, Monye, Monel, Monoil, etc, were used for young Jewish boys from well before the first century to this day. Even other cultures [Ethiopian, Italian, Spanish, French] adopted the name with their own derivative spelling.
Just a follow up on the name Zusa - this appears to be a girl's name, meaning "sweet" and having Yiddish origins. I could find no corresponding information correlating this to any Greek boy or girl's name, and certainly nothing equating it as a name for "G_d", though it seems like it could be a etymological possibility based on the spelling. But regardless, no religious Jew is going to name their child after a pagan god if it did in fact mean that. Also, I have NEVER heard of Jesus as having been called this, so not sure what your source for that is.
If you cannot read Hebrew, you can look up Isaiah 7:14 in any honest translation like NRSV/RSV/etc and it clearly says "young woman" [Hebrew almah]; If it was the Hebrew word betulah, which EXPLICITLY denotes virginity, then you can rest assured that the NSRV/RSV would have translated the passage with the word "virgin"...but they don't. Furthermore, insisting that the word in the passage MUST refer to a virgin implies that there were 2 virgin births according to your belief system [the Emmanuel given birth to by Isaiah's wife and Jesus by Mary]. But we know that the word can't be virgin in the context because Isaiah 7:3 mentions the couple already had a son: She′ar-jash′ub.
As to red herring #1 - your reference of Abraham and Sarah - the only "sign" mentioned in Genesis 17 is that of circumcision, and that explicitly between God and Abraham and his male descendants...which they SEE virtually every day when they go tinkle.
As to red herring #2 - sign of Jonah - In context, the sign of Jonah [Matthew 12:38-41] is the repentance of the gentile men of Nineveh, which the Pharisees will indeed SEE at the judgment and be condemned by [implication being that Jesus is greater than Jonah and the Pharisees didn't listen to Him]; Perhaps there is even a wider allusion to gentile repentance in Jesus' day, but I don't think the sign is the resurrection [although i can see how an empty tomb could be a sign as well] - Anyway, not 100% confident of this point and could definitely be wrong about it.
Finally, and I think you are missing this point, the sign is that the two enemies of Judah will be destroyed before the child the prophetess will give birth to knows to choose good or bad [in other words it is going to happen in short order]. I do not see how this could be "easily" fulfilled unless it was from G_d.

Either way, if Rabbi Singer is right, the actual SIGN of the prophecy isn’t Jesus, regardless, but the failure and downfall of the alliance of Pekah and Rezin against Judah while the child known to both Isaiah & Ahaz was too young to know right from wrong. As always, on the important part, Rabbi Singer is totally 100% correct against the claims of Matt and Christianity, and Isaiah 7:14 manifestly has absolutely nothing to with either the Messiah or a virginal conception, regardless, nor with Jesus.

This journey that I pursue to find the absolute truth to who the real God of creation is has been filled with an abundance of wisdom. Many angles have been either very hard to swallow, or even fully unbelievable but in my studies I have found without a shadow of doubt that the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the Everlasting, Eternal God! Now with that being said it is without a doubt contradictory that He has described Himself as the singular, only God to be worshipped, yet in the original texts He does seem to claim Himself not quite a singular being, as he was in counsel with Himself before the foundation of the world. Although that being said I see much reliable truth in Rabbi’s teachings , and I pray that the Lord God will continue to present us ALL with his Righteous and Truthful Wisdom, as He is the Most High! God Bless you Rabbi

It would wonderful to hear your take on the 5 or 6 "clobber" passages used against homosexuality or gay marriage. It seems homosexuality was definitely prevalent during biblical times. Yes the word homosexual was not in the Bible before 1946. Apparently there were no Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic terms for homosexual.

    Isaiah
    7
1 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Aram, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it; but could not prevail against it. 2 And it was told the house of David, saying: 'Aram is confederate with Ephraim.' And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moved with the wind. 3 Then said the LORD unto Isaiah: 'Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, in the highway of the fullers' field; 4 and say unto him: Keep calm, and be quiet; fear not, neither let thy heart be faint, because of these two tails of smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram, and of the son of Remaliah. 5 Because Aram hath counselled evil against thee, Ephraim also, and the son of Remaliah, saying: 6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeel; 7 thus saith the Lord GOD: It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. 8 For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people; 9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not have faith, surely ye shall not be established.' 10 And the LORD spoke again unto Ahaz, saying: 11 'Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God: ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.' 12 But Ahaz said: 'I will not ask, neither will I try the LORD.' 13 And he said: 'Hear ye now, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to weary men, that ye will weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: behold, the young woman shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. 15 Curd and honey shall he eat, when he knoweth to refuse the evil, and choose the good. 16 Yea, before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land whose two kings thou hast a horror of shall be forsaken. 17 The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.' 18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. 19 And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the rugged valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all brambles. 20 In that day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, even with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also sweep away the beard. 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall rear a young cow, and two sheep; 22 and it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give, he shall eat curd; for curd and honey shall every one eat that is left in the midst of the land. 23 And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, shall even be for briers and thorns. 24 With arrows and with bow shall one come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns. 25 And all the hills that were digged with the mattock, thou shalt not come thither for fear of briers and thorns, but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of sheep.

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."- Matthew chapter 1 verse 23.
"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."- Genesis chapter 3 verse 15. The SEED of the woman. The VIRGIN BIRTH. The SIGN. Women give birth everyday and they want to tell you that was a special sign. No they are simply lying. The power of God's Word bears witness to itself.
"Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.
But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.
And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings."- Isaiah chapter 7 verses 11 to 16.

Rabbi Singer, I enjoy watching you. A few comments if I may about Isiah, because I think Isiah should have been more clear if he didn't want Christians to misunderstand him 700 years in the future. Just as Christians think Jews hide clear prooftext, so do Jews think of Christians. In actuality Isiah had intentionally made his prophecies ambiguous.
7:3 - Isiah and his son "Shear-Yashuv" are sent to Ahaz. Why not mention his wife?
Shear Yashuv actually means 'the remnant shall return'. In this context it seems to mean the remnants of Judea that will survive the war with Israel and Aram (Syria), and returning to worship God? maybe, but if we weren't so generous with the interpretation this would surely refer to the Remnants of Israel, as if the author promises the return of a remnant of the ten lost tribes at the same time he declares their divine annihilation.
7:8-9 - The one not ambiguous prophecy: In exactly 65 years, Ephraim (used as short for the ten tribes of Israel instead of the one tribe) shall no longer be a people. It's long enough for the unborn boy 'Immanuel' to have his own grandkids I think. Any time such a specific time estimate is prophesized, instead of the more generic "when this and that happens" followed by a verse saying you have to believe me, this is a real prophecy, it is suspect.
7:14 - Here is the maiden, pregnant, and she is giving birth to a son, and [she] will call him 'Immanuel'. I think we agree she is not giving birth right then in the field. Even though it is stated in present tense, it is a future event, including the pregnancy. Isiah 8:3 - Isiah impregnates the prophetess presumably after talking to Ahaz in chapter 7. If that is the same woman and kid as you claim, and that is a big if, then in this verse 14, Isiah is talking in future sense (while present tense). This is not making it clear that the maiden is a future prophetess that will hear God for the first time when He tells her which name to call her son. And why does God need to break His decision to not talk to her so far just to tell her what to name her son if He had already told her husband? And maybe Ahaz can see the woman, but we cannot, and since the text is written for us, not for Ahaz who heard it directly from Isiah, the woman needed to be identified to avoid misidentifications.
7:21-22 - I think Isiah says that part of the miracle is that the few cows and sheep that remain after the war will give so much excess milk for everyone that butter will be a plenty.
These "signs", including as you say the Christian virgin birth, are not much of a sign. Who witnessed that Mary was a virgin? Were the lost ten tribes of Israel defeated before Jesus could tell right from wrong?! Similarly, for Ahaz: the enemies will be defeated before the unborn child has grown a little. Okay, but what can Ahaz see at the time Isiah spoke to him? What is the sign that proves that what Isiah says is going to happen? When it actually happens, you don't need a sign anymore.
    Israel
8:3 - Call your son Maher Shalal Hash Baz (hurry treasures speed-up loot), it seems odd to put such emphasis on looting, which is frowned upon in general in the Torah (and is as a rule immoral because looting is a driver for warmongering, eg the Hannukah story), but regardless, it would have been nice had Isiah mentioned this would be an additional name to Immanuel. That would have nipped some mistranslations in the bud (should Isiah had worried about Chrisitianity misappropriating his words). I'm inclined to believe this name is merely for dramatic flourish in writing prophecy because no real child would be given these 4 names, or rather if given, they would not be intended to be used - the other real name would be used.
8:4 - Before Isiah's child can say father and mother, Assyria will defeat Aram and Samaria (Ephraim/Israel). Typically, kids can say these words at age 2, far earlier than they can tell right from wrong. So is it still the same child as the one from the chapter before? If you inclined to believe that the previous chapter is not Messianic, then the answer is probably yes, because 7:16 is intentionally ambiguous in the timeline.
I think it is evident that people who take Isiah as the word of God can legitimately disagree about what it means. There are at least missed opportunities to clarify seemingly contradictory statements.

Isaiah 7:14 reads, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” Quoting Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23 reads, “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel - which means, 'God with us.'“ Christians point to this “virgin birth” as evidence of Messianic prophecy fulfilled by Jesus. Is this a valid example of fulfilled prophecy? Is Isaiah 7:14 predicting the virgin birth of Jesus? Is “virgin” even the proper translation of the Hebrew word used in Isaiah 7:14?
The Hebrew word in Isaiah 7:14 is “almah,” and its inherent meaning is “young woman.” “Almah” can mean “virgin,” as young unmarried women in ancient Hebrew culture were assumed to be virgins. Again, though, the word does not necessarily imply virginity. “Almah” occurs seven times in the Hebrew Scriptures (Genesis 24:43; Exodus 2:8; Psalm 68:25; Proverbs 30:19; Song of Solomon 1:3; 6:8; Isaiah 7:14). None of these instances demands the meaning “virgin,” but neither do they deny the possible meaning of “virgin.” There is no conclusive argument for “almah” in Isaiah 7:14 being either “young woman” or “virgin.” However, it is interesting to note, that in the 3rd century B.C., when a panel of Hebrew scholars and Jewish rabbis began the process of translating the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek, they used the specific Greek word for virgin, “parthenos,” not the more generic Greek word for “young woman.” The Septuagint translators, 200+ years before the birth of Christ, and with no inherent belief in a “virgin birth,” translated “almah” in Isaiah 7:14 as “virgin,” not “young woman.” This gives evidence that “virgin” is a possible, even likely, meaning of the term.
With all that said, even if the meaning “virgin” is ascribed to “almah” in Isaiah 7:14, does that make Isaiah 7:14 a Messianic prophecy about Jesus, as Matthew 1:23 claims? In the context of Isaiah chapter 7, the Aramites and Israelites were seeking to conquer Jerusalem, and King Ahaz was fearful. The Prophet Isaiah approaches King Ahaz and declares that Aram and Israel would not be successful in conquering Jerusalem (verses 7-9). The Lord offers Ahaz the opportunity to receive a sign (verse 10), but Ahaz refuses to put God to the test (verse 11). God responds by giving the sign Ahaz should look for, “the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son...but before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste.” In this prophecy, God is essentially saying that within a few years' time, Israel and Aram will be destroyed. At first glance, Isaiah 7:14 has no connection with a promised virgin birth of the Messiah. However, the Apostle Matthew, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, connects the virgin birth of Jesus (Matthew 1:23) with the prophecy in Isaiah 7:14. Therefore, Isaiah 7:14 should be understood as being a “double prophecy,” referring primarily to the situation King Ahaz was facing, but secondarily to the coming Messiah who would be the ultimate deliverer.
