355ci SBC running on engine dolly.

Got the 355 running on an engine dolly, it's a noisy unit. Need to rig up a cooling system so I can run it longer and dial it in. So far it's a thumper. Set at 36 degrees total with 74/82 jets in the custom 750 Holley DP. Glad to have it running after 5 years.

Those frontrunners are 15x3 Fenton Gyros from around 69 or 70. Pretty rare. Rears are mid 80s Centerline Autodrags 15x10 with 5in backspace. 165/85/15 front tires, 275/60/15 rear meats.

I cranked the timing up to 38 degrees and rebuilt the 850 doublepumper, leaned out the idle circuit a touch. It's really roars now. Engine definitely liked it. It's thirsty as hell, done went thru 5 gallons of fuel and haven't ran it 20-30 minutes tops. It should make peak power at around 7800rpm. Torque fall in around 5000rpm range. Pretty high strung unit.

I'm lookin to run 6.50s or so at around 105mph in the 8th with this unit. Should 60ft in the 1.40s.

Thanks man. No, the big Bootlegger is in another 355 I have on the stand. It's the black one with Brodix heads & intake. Cam in this unit is a 1997 Crower roller. 274/278@.050, 627/627 lift, 107 lobe Sep. I've had it in a few engines, pretty good bumpstick.

This cam ran 6.60s in a 357ci SBC with 220cc ProTopline heads & 12.5-1 compression in a 3050lb G-body. Used 1.6 rockers with it for 670 lift. Couple more degrees duration. Car set up like a NHRA "Stocker" with a manual T-400, 5500 stall BTE converter, 12-bolt with 5-13 gear on a 33-spline spool. Dutchman axles. Car ran 6.20s with a healthy 496 in it. 4-door 86 Bonneville. Ain't pretty, but it's pretty set up. Originally built as a street sleeper, but the 29.5x11.5x15 M/T slicks and Cragar Supertricks wasent fooling anybody. Has 15x3 Cragar Supertricks with 28x4.5 Goodyear front runners on the front. Still have that car, and I'm building a new bigblock for it. I want it running mid to low 5s in the 8th.
