Did you find a better way to mount that rear camera closer to the window, so it isnt all headliner and bed cover? I'm about to install one of these in a sequoia, and my back window rolls down too.
All these cars with all these cameras built into them from the factory 360 cameras and all the cameras on the mirrors cameras on the bumpers how is it that we still need to buy these stupid aftermarket dash cams and can’t have a built-in dash cam feature into the car from the factory?
Installed one on my wife's vehicle. Only thing I think you could look at is an external battery. I have thinkwire dash cam with blackboxmycar external battery so I can have video when my car is off. I don't have any worries about the dash cam draining the battery
@@Ruthlessbone Yes it advertises it has parking mode, and in the manual it states that it automatically enters parking mode if you have it hard wired to your battery. The problem is if you power on the camera and enter the setting menu, go to record settings > parking mode > it shows as off (there is no way to toggle it to show as on in the settings menu) as well as options for setting collision detection, motion detection, bitrate & framerate.
@jasonf1551 yup. With the external battery, as long as you use your car every other day it charges the external battery so it can power up your dash cam for quite a while
That rear window issue looks like a job for a 3D printer. You could have a bracket made that allows you to mount it on one of the rear pillars or the ceiling but keeping the cam right where you want it for best view. Still completely unattached from window itself.
Can the interior camera be turned off if you dont want to use it? Also, can it record without showing your speed? I dont want my speed on video for, well...obvious reasons.
thanks and this can be installed with any make and model of car? owe a hyundai elantra besdies security. want it for lomg trips on the road to go over it remember the streets and note it down. amd get it in my brain where to go. like a gps back im time lol
Using that donger power adapter is that the same as hard wiring? What’s the difference? Does it turn on and off with the car? What about parking mode. Is it constantly running or can you set it for motion detect and it turn on only with motion when parked if using that cable?
You can get a wiring kit that plugs into the card fuse box, either to a fuse that only is active when the car is on, or one that is always active, to give you parking protection.
They make 90* usb-c adapters. You could’ve just got one to change your rear camera plug so you didn’t have to move the front camera. And for the rear camera I’d make a little bracket to mount up under the headliner then mount the camera to the bracket then it would be right at the glass.
Any idea how many hours a 512G memory card would record before looping? I would be driving roughly 6-10 hours at a time. And wouldn't want to loop over any footage before backing it up.
Is there a similar dash camera like this but one that installs on the rear view mirror ? I have window tint and don’t want the tint to start peeling if I put the suction or adhesive on the window tint
@mark brener What is the app called for the dash cam I’m not sure if mine has it. I have the Vantrue N4 3 Channel 4K Dash Cam, 4K+1080P Front and Rear, 1440P+1440P Front and Inside, 1440P+1440P+1080P Three Way Triple Car Camera, IR Night Vision, 24 Hours Parking Mode, Support 256GB Max
Don't think the regular N4 has wifi where you can connect to the app. The only reason I know this is because I have the exact product you wrote in your post. I recently got the N4 Pro which does have wifi and the ability to use the VanTrue app
@MarkBrenner My 2023 Tundra is pretty legit, partially inspired but some of what you have done. Hit me up I would love to share some pics for your viewers.
I run a Vantrue dash cam I’ve had for years. Great product. Great video
best size to use? yearly around memory for it. any brand? 256 gb enough? every 3 months i well be cleaning the sd card
I wish they would make a product that takes advantage of the 6 cameras my tundra already has.
Now I know what I want for Christmas. LoL 😏🤙🏼 great review.

Looks great. Thankyou for sharing and sharing the installation process

Same question i had, why not having a built in dash cam in my 2022 car,? It’s just a business thing I think
You read my mind
Tesla does!
Or a memory system that plugs into and uses factory cams

How big is that battery? And where did you put it?
@MarkBrenner it's pretty thin. Maybe 4inx8in i think. I drive a 2022 4runner and it is under the front passenger seat.
Don't these cameras have parking mode already?

Your setup is pretty clean. Good job!
could put that rear camera behind that little headrest in the middle of the seat maybe
You could find some kind of extender to lower the positon of your rear camera, so that it hangs lower.
Did you happen to hardwire this in for parking protection? Will parking protection work the way you tapped in up by the rear view?
Thanks
Great video! Are you still happy with the dash cam? I am about to install one in a RAM Limited 1500.
Can the interior camera be turned off if you dont want to use it? Also, can it record without showing your speed? I dont want my speed on video for, well...obvious reasons.
You have the option to turn off the front facing camera and speed. Lol
Your cigarette lighter is behind the 14” screen on top of the dash! Just to let u know, since u said that u don’t know that if the truck has one
I see! Haha thanks
Dude , LOVE your CAR 💯💯💯💯💯
Can tap into the wiring inside the rear view casing like the Toyota integrated dashcam does?
I’ll have to check this out, I used see the blackvue cameras; these sound like they are better based on the features.

My cigarette lighter outlet is in the top of the front dash on my 24' Tundra TRD Pro.

Have you found a 90-degree adapter that is made to handle video and power? Thanks!
Do you have windshield tint?
With the dongle would you be able to place a dual USB and run both dash cam and radar detector?
Will this work on my Tacoma 24
How easy are these to take down. I don't want them up when my vehicle is parked. I don't want to come back to my truck and have my cams missing.
My N2 has a quick release so the suction cup and power cord stay on the windshield and the camera releases.
What size memory Card do I need?
Any idea how many hours a 512G memory card would record before looping? I would be driving roughly 6-10 hours at a time. And wouldn't want to loop over any footage before backing it up.
why would you backup a whole lotta nothing happening?
I'm assuming the 4k runs at 30fps. If you don't connect the rear camera can you run the front camera at 60fps?
Nope!
Just runs at 30fps in all modes

I'm researching dashcams and so far FitcamX looks like what I want. Still haven't found a way that I like to do the rear cam for any of them though...
do you have the digital rear view also?
Yes

hey get a 3d printed liner mount you can go through fiver and then boom better view and keep your mirror
you are giving up parking mode with this installation
At 3 :00: No more yankee my wankee, Dongar need food......😂
I wish someone would make some aftermarket taillights with some good taste. The factory ones in my opinion are awful!
People who want too diving don't no,who to diving on the road just care about themselves 😊
?
I don't care about your tint! Is this a review of your truck or the dashcam?
