Sparky Hughes what a United Legend. Wish we had him today. We wouldn’t be in the mess we are in now . The current player should watch this and see the heart and pride those players had to wear the United badge .
I was there great game West ham giving it the big one in the seats behind the goal fair play had a lot of numbers out but too many united lads out that day
I think West Ham were in the Scoreboard and J Stand (you can see Strachan get hit by a coin from there in the clip). I was behind the goal with my old man that day on the first few rows of the K, which is why I remember it (we used to sit somewhere else).
@@MaMu-fv8uo yes West ham deffo in the scoreboard end cup match so they had a large amount of tickets allocated for that game not sure of the amount , I was stood up in the united road terracing.
@@melvyndolby8625 ..that's true pal...for me United's firm's best ever day!..from 10 in the morning when they outnumbered us and had us on the back foot..to running them up Chester road forcing them into that pub(featuring in their vid).and then of course after the game in Warwick road!..that was their top boys and most of ours too!..for me personally.. lots of aching bones,a swollen cheek, and a black eye...but fav.united day ever!😉..stay safe Mel!✊👹
84 in the League Cup or the 83 FA Cup? Either way, you had about 10k in the Scoreboard and the K Stand seats above. A good following, but those stands never held 20k. The whole stadium - including the Stretford End and Paddock - was less than 60 at that time.
Good man. I'll look out for the Owls' scores from now on. City are and have always been bitter, mate, and don't believe the crap they say that there's more city fans in Manchester. It's rubbish, pal.
@@markcartwright2263 No Mark, its true what Mick the Con says. Gardener and his cronies decided to sneak out just before the end, but a similiar team of Utd caught up with them near the crossroads ( its on that video that West Ham did with LWT). They had a big following that day and if they'd stuck together like your lads, they might have got a similiar result. Earlier in the day, in the J, K seats area, i remember Harry Hamilton going up to Bill Gardener and giving him a right back hander. Dont think Bill and his lieutenants fancied it at the end, hence there attempt to sneak off
I was stood in the Stretford end aged 12 for this game. One of the best days of my life. This has always been the best game I've been to.

Gotta love the state of the pitch. They be ashamed of that in the conference these days. Those were the days.
i waz at the game . and what a strike force hughes, whiteside and stapleton
Norman Whiteside also scored the winner for Manchester Utd in the final against Everton
This was the very first united game i saw live with my mum...
Goals pay the rent and Keegan does his shift !
Have a look when Man U score their second goal, there's one manc in among the West Ham
