All of your laughs in your video make me smile☺️ Your laugh is so contagious! Thank you for all of your awesome and well explained recipe videos (& the laughs)!
We made and ate your Holiday Roast, topped with fresh homemade pomegranate jelly, and as expected, it was delicious! So now I'm sending the links to 190 people on our vegan cooking class email list. We love it when your mom joins you in the demonstrations, and it's also fun when Kaija joins you as well. In contrast to many vegan UA-cam videos we see, you and your family are ALWAYS dressed tastefully and modestly, and we really appreciate that about you. God has blessed you with a wonderful ministry, and we really appreciate you using your gifts to brighten our lives and show us how to enjoy optimum health. You and your family remain in our prayers!
I am so blessed by your support, encouragement, and comments. Thank you for sharing my videos. The pomegranate jelly sounds amazing. May God continue to bless you! Happy Holidays!
I absolutely love your videos! Specially the ones with your mom and your sister the love and bond that you guys share it’s truly special❤️ You guys make vegan food a little less complicated to make. The first seitan recipe I ever did was yours! before that I was just way too nervous to try to make it from scratch so I would just buy the pre made ones from the store. Can’t wait to give this recipe a try🤤
Aww... Thank you so much for your incredibly kind comment! You completely made my day! Thank you for taking the time to try my recipes. I am so happy to hear you liked the seitan recipe. Hope you enjoy the roast recipes too.
This is my first Vegan Thanksgiving!! I've been gluten-free for awhile but have been vegan over the last 3 months so it's new and kind of hoping everything works out. I'm so excited to put this to the test for this year's thanksgiving roast - thank you! Love the mom + daughter fun you too have together. It's so beautiful to see.
I was actually thinking about what to make, is a huge deal bc is my 1st Christmas and New Year as a vegan, before I was vegetarian and before I wasn't, I never liked Turkey and Pork, just the pineapple smells of Turkey preparation, Thanks a lot for this video, I like the peace in your kitchen 🌱❤️✨
Just stuck it in the oven, Ani and MomAni. Have to share a funny story. I can be mildly dyslexic. So when I ordered the tapioca starch I somehow ordered tapioca flour. So I went with that and swapped the corn flour for corn starch. LOL. I'll keep you posted. P.S. I thought I was losing my mind until I figured out you've done 3 different videos of the same recipe. In this one you forgot to blend the tofu. It just magically happened. :p P.P.S. Mom Ani is an anagram of Mon Ami. THIS JUST IN -- They can be swapped. I'm pretty sure I screwed up the agar agar but I'll try it again soon.
Thank you so much for your fun comment! My Mom and I really enjoyed hearing about your roast adventure. Sorry for the confusion with 3 videos. We make new videos every year and so it can be a bit confusing. Hope your roast turned out good. Thank you for keeping me updated.
Such wholesome videos thank you! May I ask what you would suggest we can replace tofu with if one can not consume soy? Would canned garbanzo beans or white beans work since it will be blended anyway like the tofu? Thank you for your help!
Yes, someone just tried using garbanzo beans instead of tofu in this recipe. They said it worked really well. Thank you for your comment. Happy Holidays!
it looks so good!!! 💖 please, what is the "black" liquid? and what is the sheet that separates the dough? I didn't understand it well, my English is not perfect. I need to try!! Thanks 🙏
The "black" liquid is Bragg Liquid Aminos, it is basically a soy sauce. You can find this recipe in detail on my website. Here is a link: chefani.com/holiday-roast-plant-based-vegan/ You can also find the gluten free option here: chefani.com/gluten-free-holiday-roast-plant-based-vegan/ The sheet that separates the roast from the Puff Pastry is Phyllo Dough Pastry Sheets.
You’re amazing, I love your videos ! If making the first roast is it ok for it to sit in the fridge over night ? And if so do you bake it and let it sit in the fridge or put it in the fridge and then bake it the next day ? How does that work with adding the pastry ? Also it’s crazy you don’t need to simmer the seitan at all 😍🙏🏼♥️
Thank you so much! Yes, you can let the roast sit in the fridge over night, but it can also be baked the same day. If you decide to add the pastry, it must be added while the roast is cool, so let the roast come to room temperature before adding the Phyllo Dough Pastry Sheets and the Puff Pastry. Then bake. Merry Christmas!
I want to make the roast but have never done it before. I want to make it on Tuesday for Thursday . Do l just keep it in the fridge and reheat it on Tuesday.
Good question! I use two sheet of Phyllo dough for the moisture barrier. It works really well. Here is a link to the recipe: chefani.com/holiday-roast-plant-based-vegan/
Hello, Chef Ani, I have my finals during the week of Thanksgiving, and my one year anniversary with my boyfriend is actually two days before Thanksgiving. So I would like to make your roast in advance as many days as possible (while still being delicious and fresh). How many days in advance can I make your stuffing? And how many days for the roast itself? Thank you!
Congratulations on your anniversary and best of luck on your finals. This roast can be made ahead several days. I think you will be safe with 4-5 days, we have pushed it to 7 days before, but I think the taste diminishes slightly. The stuffing should also be good for 4-5 days.
Another question, Chef Ani, I am the only vegan in my family, so I really don't wanna make the entire roast. I've already halved your recipe, but how long would you suggest I bake it?
Ah yes Thanksgiving, the foodie's favorite holiday. Well due to travel restrictions, and the fact that 2 family members tested positive recently, it looks like we may have to cancel this year. Or at least delay it. Nonetheless I wish you and everyone else a Happy Thanksgiving.
I pray for a full restoration and recovery of your family members that they are wrapped in the love that embraces their recovery. My God bless and restore your home this year.
Vastly thought out! I think clients would love this.

Yes, just keep it in the fridge and reheat it on Thursday! Thank you for your comment! Happy Thanksgiving!
What exactly did you wrap around the roast to be a moisture barrier? Was it parchment paper? How does this work?
Good question! I use two sheet of Phyllo dough for the moisture barrier. It works really well. Here is a link to the recipe: chefani.com/holiday-roast-plant-based-vegan/
Can I ask what the moisture barrier you use actually was? Yes, love puff pastry, hate trying to get it perfect!

ok ok
I wonder what would have happened if I made this
Do you have anymore like this one?
Yes! I post a new video every Wednesday! Thanks for watching:)
I am so sorry to hear about your family members. Hope they recover quickly. Yes, it will be a different Holiday this year for sure.
@@ChefAni Thank you very much. I'm sure they'll recover in no time. Just not early enough for thanksgiving. Either way I will be grateful.
I pray for a full restoration and recovery of your family members that they are wrapped in the love that embraces their recovery. My God bless and restore your home this year.
