I like a free form “loaf”. You get way better texture and color. It especially if it’s glazed. It browns great. Cannot wait to try this. I think I want gravy and glaze.Definitely thinking this would be fantastic in puff pastry also.

Another Christmas idea: I made falafel but with poultry spices, onions, and garlic. Tasted great with a red wine gravy, made with stock made from scraps.

@@topramennoodle21 of course, I like to can my chickpeas from scratch, so I always have the dried stuff to blend into falafel

Usually when adding flax seeds for binding you make it into a paste first (‘flax egg’) by mixing 1 TB and 2.5 TB of water. ☺️
Glad it looks like overall your beautiful creation turned out just fine though!

I would probably add celery and sage for more traditional “turkey” vibe, or fennel and spag sauce for an Italian vibe.

I wish she had a cook book. I am not good w/ on line stuff. Her food always looks so great. I go to the grocery store can’t remember half the stuff she uses. Then I cannot remember her steps to make my food. An old school book would be great.

ROSE!! You amazing gorgeous creature!! i ADORE the way you cook, like nothing phases you, EVER! You have a charming "she'll be right mate" attitude which is very Australian by the way. Also, hope u realise we might never want to see you in anything else from now on, cos that glorious red hair with that red satin slip dress is SOOO beautiful & totally festive on you, i actually shouted Nooooo when i saw u in different clothes at the end. Love the roast! Love you! Love the show! Just never change, mate!

Sunday roast in the uk isn’t the same as a meat loaf, it’s usually roast beef or chicken basically. Closer to meat loaf is like a wellington I’d say but is wrapped in pastry, which most places will make a veggie version of that for vegan option on a Sunday lunch.

i got a little mini plug in one for $15 and its a rocket! (supposed to be an onion chopper but i've tried everything in it, nuts, carrots, onions, coffee beans, flax seeds, tomatoes for pico, does them all just like Rose's machine did, just in a wee bit smaller batches!)

They call it a roast, because it’s roasts in the oven 🙃
I make a nut roast/loaf every year, the only thing I change is what nuts I use. I’ve even gotten meat eating friends hooked on it 😋 but I’m also picky with nut roasts too, this one looks too fancy 😅🙂

So how do you make yours? I need a straightforward recipe. I haven't got a food processor though. 😱

    • @sarahm7296
      @sarahm7296 2 роки тому +2

      @@catrionagarde4410
      1.5 cups ground nuts
      1.5 cups cooked millet/bread crumbs
      1 grated apple
      2 tsp dried oregano
      2 flax eggs
      3/4 cup veggie bouillon
      1/2 tsp ground pepper
      1 tsp steak spice.
      1 onion sautéed
I think that’s it. Bake for 1 hour at 350F
I just chop the nuts. Walnuts Brazil nuts and hazelnuts make a delicious combo, but I usually just use whatever I have in the kitchen 🙂
