This is a really interesting analytical video about the game. I enjoy listening to the evaluation of the various strategic options and quandaries presented by this scenario.
Very interesting to see how this game plays, thanks for that. From what I could see I think I like the twin supply phases - gives a unit a second chance at the end of a turn.
Thanks, finally got to listen to this one and confirmed IR is not a game for me - was really tempted to get it (either IR2 or IR3) but think it would require too much effort to make it work. Plus, there seems to be a fair amount of errata, and I'm really not a fan of CRT used (would much prefer a more granular approach with multiple rolls per battle and higher difference between winner/loser's losses)
Originally cities which existed only in later periods were denoted by arrows of different length, printed on map. Always thought this game could be adapted to cover the Second Punic War and the conflicts with Macedon covering the same ground. The late Richard Berg did a similar game for SPI called Conquerors, Alexander then Hannibal) but which had a weird tactical display for actual battles
I mark them so I know which ones can move but it's a mnemonic of my own preference not any ting in the game itself so folks can do otherwise. Whatever works best for them.
@@stevendolges8372 if you fancy, we can try to learn the game together. The whole rulebook is quite long but rules are well written. I am an ASL player so I am not scared about this challenge :-)
~ watched Calandale's go at a few "Imperium Romanum II" scenarios, which left me 'greatly' less than impressed with the game. I'll be watching every minute of your presentation(s) too, as I REALLY want to grow fond enough of "Imperium Romanum III" to add it to my collection. Thank You Steven for your "Fatal Alliances: The Great War " series, and now for giving us a peek at this one!
Thanks. Very clear and fluid to follow. It helps me get into this game, witch I deeply wanted to play.

Great video.
Will you make another video of the game? Perhaps, another scenario?.
Greetings from Spain!.
I've been thinking of coming back to the game but it may not be for awhile. Greetings!
Not sure all that intense terrain is needed at this scale?
Strange that a whole stack can be killed with one die roll. Not sure how I feel about that.
Seems like you would want to mark the units that don't have supply rather than the supplied units.

Do you plan to play A World at War?
It will depend. I have it but I find it a pain to get through the rules. I have a friend who might teach me at some point and then I could.

Did an Accountant write these Supply Rules!?!? 😂😂😂

Why do we need 2 shades of blue for ocean hexes?....really hurts my eyes.
I think its there to differentiate between shallow and deep waters
