My 80s song list in top 10 is van Halen jump livin on a prayer Bon jovi u2 without or without you every breath you take by the police another bite the dust by queen just beat it by Michael Jackson run to the hills by iron maiden tainted love by soft cell love will never tear us apart by joy division that’s my 10 song list in 80s Andy
Whitesnake - Here I go again. Sounds great on acoustic
INXS - Never tear us apart
Also, find longer, more in depth tutorials for many of the songs covered here free on this page www.andyguitar.co.uk/songs/top-10-80s-songs-on-acoustic-guitar/ Hope it helps!
I have been in a rut with my guitar lately and not playing consistently. This is just the kick in the pants to inspire me. Thank you!
Great collection! Thank you Andy. It's always a pleasure to watch and listen to you play. ❤🙏
So many great song ideas to pick from your video. Thanks Andy!
Cracking list. Thanks Andy
Omg Andy this will keep me immersed for a very long time. Many thanks. Do the same for the 70's please❤
We will - Putting the songlist together with my website members on Monday! 😀
Yes, a 70s one would be great. For that one, can you do Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton? One of my favourite 70s songs and Eric songs.
I'm a 70's fan! Especially the early '70's.
Absolutely brilliant I'm going to get stuck in to all of these later today ❤ thanks for the upload
Awesome! More please!
If all the great artists of the 80s went out on the road these days with an all acoustical set they would be a big hit. Imagine all the synth tunes of the past being remade with acoustic instruments!
A full deep dive on White Wedding would be awesome. Maybe a layered acoustic campfire starter and a double click for full electric. Great 80s collection!!
Great selection Andy.
I loved it when you played Rory on Doctor Who
🙌
This will keep me tinkering away on the guitar for a long time. Thanks Andy.
Great video Andy on some great songs.
take on me and under pressure, simply fantastic dude! Thanks for your videos bro
loads of fun . Great song selection. Cheers .
Andyyyyy! I've been browsing YT for years and your channel is the absolute best for finding new songs to play. Thank you so much!! Keep up the great work. One suggestion for an easy 80s acoustic song is Sweet Child Woaaahh oh oh OH Sweet Child of Mine?
Awesome!!
Eres genial amigo, muchas gracias!
Oooh taking me back to my teen years.
Brilliant
Love those 80's pop tunes. Brings me back to my childhood. 👍
Dude ! You're so fun to watch and I thought that you are talented. You can sing as well. You picked the songs that I really love as well...I'm now one of your subs here ! 😊😅
The best duet of all time is either "Don Henley and Stevie Knicks Leather and Lace" or "Tom Petty and Stevie Knicks Stop Draggin My Heart Around."
Andy Crowley , you rule the world ! Some terrific 80's tunes on display here. Tears for Fears being my favourite. Cheers 🍻 👏
Love that blurred motion of your hand at 4:32! I've never seen that before in a guitar instruction video.
Thank you so much for this mate, I spent the last half hour and just about got down the Hungry Like The Wolf riff. Now I can play 2 popular riffs (this one and the Wish You Were Here riff by Pink Floyd).
Great video!!!🎉
Great one Andy excellent selection at least to say 👍
Professional effort for us ….Thankyou
Awesome man I'm going to teach my son with these songs 🙏👏
Slave to love - Bryan Ferry
Everytime you go away - Paul Young
Two classics
All the songs are my favourite and you can definitetly add more and more 80's songs
Toto africa would be amazing, your style of video is so easy to follow.
On a side note, I've had some of your t shirts for a while now, and the comfort and quality is excellent 👌
Great to read! I'm sure I can get Africa filmed soon 👌
@andycrowley that would be awesome !👌would you be able to do the chords for those with a bit more baritone voice ?
Young at heart the Bluebells could be a good 80 acoustic tutorial. I’ve seen a lot of covers and only a few tutorials. It’s the rythym of it that gets me. I see a few on UA-cam feels different each one.
That guitar sounds beautiful
Great video 👍🏻❤️🙏🏻
Hi Andy, I love all your videos they are awesome. Could I please request that you do a song lesson on Julian Lennon's song Too late for Goodbyes. I've searched you tube for a good guitar tutorial for the song & haven't found any. You do such an awesome job of creating really easy & assessable guitar lessons. If you get the chance it would be great if you could. Thank you so much. :) Alison
So iconic!!!
Grew up in the 80's, so all of them.
Fantastic lesson put how I can certainly obtain it
Danke
Great collection! Brings me back to my college days! Cheers!
Great 😊👍
Great list! I'd add "Only You" by Yazoo! 😊
very nice andyboy
A truly EPIC list of tunes. Well played Andy. Spoiler alert…
0:55 Don’t You Forget About Me
2:20 Dead or Alive
3:48 Everybody Wants to Rule the World
5:07 Take on Me
7:10 White Wedding
8:58 Down Under
10:05 Don’t You Want Me
11:15 Africa
12:39 Hungry Like The Wolf
13:55 Under Pressure
Love the Queen/Bowie riff
Under Pressure - would love a full lesson on this. I think a good old Alison Moyet/Yazoo song or Erasure maybe???
Here's a complete Under Pressure tutorial ua-cam.com/video/lFyjKNuuJtk/v-deo.html🤙
Great list. I'm going to learn all of them.
I'd add:
Time after time by Cyndi Lauper
Every rose has its thorn by Poisen
Dont dream its over by Crowded house
Melt with you by Modern English
Will you do a 90's version? 90's is my favorite
You definitely pulled out all the stops on this one Andy 👌👍
Cheers dude! All thanks to the folks who helped me out this list together on the livestream. Next one is tomorrow, 6 pm UK time, where we're putting a list together for the 70s! 🙌
Please show us how to play "Suburbia" by the Pet Shop Boys as well...thanks! By the way love the 80´s music so much!
That's great Andy, can you do more detailed version on intro of dead or alive please, regards Paul
Yes please do!
No worries 👌
Damn this is good
Thanks a lot! Take On Me was my big takeaway from this one! :)
Hazy shade of Winter by the Bangles would be a great addition to this list
I agree, in fact LOTS more songs for women would be good🎶🙏🌷
But that's actually a 60s song from Simon and Garfunkel!
@@ricomajestic you're right, but the Bangles re-imagined the main riff with distorted guitar that made it so different imo.
Omg Andy this will keep me immersed for a very long time. Do the same for the 60's as well as the 70's please❤
A-ha Hunting High And Low is the nicest A-ha song to play on the accoustic guitar imo , it's the chord progression I think 😮
Hi, what strings and mic do use. Are you tuned down?. The sound comes across as trebly and when you hit hard the strings slap the fretboard. Cheers
The Breakfast Club is a great movie, I’ll have to learn “Don’t You Forget About Me” for sure!
Awesome, full tutorial here if you need it! ua-cam.com/video/HbhYsHoJRFs/v-deo.html
80s rocked!
I saw that in the theater! 1986
As a 51yo member of GenX...Don't You Forget About Me is the song that represents our generation!! By far!!
My favorite one was Queen and David Bowie can you do the full song on it please
Africa by who?😂
By tooootooooo 😆
Love the accent
Love the video! Big thumbs up.
Always come to your channel for inspiration as a beginner and boy have I found some. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!❤
please do summer breeze
Please make a full tutorial for all the songs
Done full tutorials for most of them on this page 👌 www.andyguitar.co.uk/songs/top-10-80s-songs-on-acoustic-guitar/
Lots of content on the website/app but one problem I've found is that the full screen mode goes too big and doesnt show the whole of the screen. I was using chrome on an android tablet. I downloaded the app and it's the same. The links to watch on youtube work fine, so it's easy to watch full screen that way. It's also quite slow and unresponsive. Fix those small problems and you'll be on a winner. Cheers Andy. Keep the lessons flowing
Take On Me gives me Razorlight - Somewhere Else vibes
And don’t forget, if you get the bass line down for Under Pressure you also have Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice!
Hello Andy, how about Strangelove by Depeche Mode?
I'd add Just like heaven by The Cure!
Wicked song, done a tutorial on my youtube already 👌
Really like under pressure , full tutorial would be good
Done, it's here:) ua-cam.com/video/lFyjKNuuJtk/v-deo.html
Me realizing in 26 years I’ve never thought of learning about half these.
Hi Andy i was wondering if you could do more Arctic Monkey videos.
Love your videos, keep up the good work.
Which songs?
Any chance guitar lesson on John parr St Elmo’s Fire
Anything by SRV would make my list 🙂
Have you done "Troy"?
can you please do top 10 country songs
Great idea! What songs would make your top 10? :D
Simple Minds= Charlie the god Burchill.
Definitely!!
Was thinking Faith by George Michael should be on the list.😊
Vanilla Ice!
Could have easy have went into No Easy Way Out from Don't You Forget About Me 😜
I had no idea that Rory Williams from Doctor Who was such a good musician :D
He actually is, e saw him live in the Ohklahoma musical in London, proving that in fact, we are not the same person 😄
@@andycrowley Apparently, I'm not the first to see the resemblance :D Cheers, mate, and good luck
Is that the Faith Harvest moon?
Me too.
It’s chesney hawks!
7:43 wait a minute! Was that him or a dub?
Hello sir can you tell me fingerstyle song cover channel monetize on UA-cam or not

Do these work on classical guitar?
Yes, is the same
@@joaoIsousathanks
"If it comes from you then it always works" - Mr Miyagi!
@@ricomajesticI'm stupid what does that mean?
@@therandomname69420I was paraphrasing Mr. Miyagi from the movie Karate Kid!
You strings are 10 or 11?
Any INXS songs coming up?
There wasn't, but there should be! Which should I do?
"Need You Tonight" please!
@@andycrowley
Everything from Shabooh Shoobah
Just like Heaven from the cure
Wicked song, done a tutorial for that here ua-cam.com/video/66MToVWIkAQ/v-deo.html
@@andycrowley that’s where I learned to play it last year, and thanks for that
I won’t lie. I’m confused why an Em and E Major in the same song. Is it a key change? Same happens in House of the Rising Sun.
I Ran by Flock of Seagulls
Better capo up homie. Wondering why you don'y use bronze strings or phosphor bronze ? ? These strings have your guitar sounding a little too tinny or shallow imho. That's just me though, of course. You play beautifully and I feel the strings you're using don't bring the true sond of your guitar "wood" out.
Your Ads Obscure die stopp Funktion. Would like to note the chords...
First
Sorry, now it works...
No Every Breath You Take??
a bit too fast for me....
80s. Not 80’s
This video SOOOO needs time-stamps and sections …
Not bad, but Toto Africa is played wrong, I understand you are trying to simplify songs, but that ain't played right.
Ain't?
Sounds right to me? Which chord is wrong?
How many artist plays exactly like the album? Not many.
