I think it is so awesome that you are getting the little girl involved and contributing to the project. Not just letting her watch or hold the light but actually getting her to wrench on things here and there! That's something my old man let me do when I was her age and trust me she will remember things like that forever!
Too Sweet! I just turned my daughter Shelby on to you. Shes been a Bad Ass Gear Head since she was 10 years old. I taught her to drive stick when she was 12. No matter what car I was working on she was right there soaking it all in like a sponge. Now.... no job she wont attempt and conquer. Thanks Emily! Two new huge Fans! You Go Girl!
being in AIT and being close to graduation watching these episodes are keeping my passion burning for the love of old cars, and wanting to get home to start my project with my wife and kids
Congrats on the great engine build. It sounds great. The patina on the '64 is awesome. Thanks for the shout out on our oil pump. So happy you covered how to prime the oil pump. It is a very important step in getting your lube system properly primed before the engine is fired up. Have fun on the Power Tour!
actually they are 100 hp under what other builder have made on a dyno with the same parts. The engine is 405 hp stock so 6 psi should be way over 450 hp.
Your kid is awesome... " oh my gosh, the supercharger's on!" Words a parent loves to hear from their kids. Train a child when he is young and when he is old he will not depart from it.
This video was in my recommended list and it's refreshing to see a woman that can build engines and work on cars!! Not sure what to say, but too cool and too adorable when you and your niece work together!!
Emily is intelligent, mechanical, interested in cars, a mom (your daughter is adorable) and pretty? Wow... Some guy is super-blessed. Thank you for the very cool video of that LS rebuild! Love the way you engaged your daughter's interest and involvement in the project.
Steve Weltman Thank you very much! She's actually our niece, we're grateful she's right next door to us since she's excited to work on stuff with us! Appreciate you watching!
I must say I’m very jealous this is the definition of wat life is about and finding happiness and having a great family this is great to see and hope everybody is Striving for the best keep up the good work!!
My first new car was a 1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport. I bought it through the company I worked for at the time. It costs me $2875.00 total! It had a 327 ci 300 horse power with an automatic trans. It was canary yellow with black interior, bucket seats and console. On stereo in those days so I installed Vibra Sonic
I need a good shop my ol 86 Trans am is tired. But my health will no longe walk out her bodylines. I do miss working on cars like that. You two have somthing very special.what you think is just a you tube video is precious memory's. Nothing like modding your love for one another. The shop of innovation and love.
i have told the guys in the shop that a supermodel is putting the engine together and if they cant do it then what is the problem. Great job Aron and Emily . Great inspiration for motivation of the workers.
i want that so bad!! My beautiful wife and I building a blown LS while shes teaching our daughter how to do the same! If thats not family goals idk what is!
I like this gale. Most car enthusiasts that I've seen are too insistent on trying to prove themselves as being better than the next person or show that they know the most. I like how she is casual and how she talks about what she is doing while she works.
Just found your channel and videos Emily and they are great. Comprehensive and I like the way you show everything and explain everything and you're having fun which is so important in my opinion. I just got my first LS1 here in Western Australia and so started to look around on YT for vids like yours. had to sub....
Gilbert McGillicutty My daughter? Haha! Comment sections are something else. I know. 🙈 She's actually my niece, lives right next door and LOVES to wrench!! 😜 Got a kick out of your comments, thanks!!!
Man I'm freaking jealous... If this isn't life goals I don't know what is. Working alongside a beautiful woman to build a LS for boost, and teaching the daughter how to work on cars. And the little girl is so polite too lol amazing build BTW
Thank you for the positive feedback!!! I edit it down trying not to have an hour long video- have enough content to show the project, give info on it yet have the fun show style moments in there!!! Really appreciate the comment!
Great video Emily I can tell how much you love what your doing and I can tell you know your stuff. Doesn't hurt that you are very easy on the eyes which is Texas saying I am sure you have heard. Thanks for all involved for making this awesome video.
Glad to see actual progress in a video, I know some shows for whatever the reason drag on and on (Budget constraints etc.) Glad to see you're getting your little one involved in cars, she won't have time to do dumb things if she's addicted to cars. Love the videos, can't wait to see more from you guys.
Direct copy of earlier Ford engine, 4 separate inlet and exhaust ports, Y block design, with crossbolted mains, Y shaped block, but OHV outdated technology, not a patch on Ford current engines.
GlassTopRX7 that's very nice of you to say I'm sure they will appreciate your input 👍 They do these as a hobby not a living and really from what I seen the cars come out decent And it's awesome that a husband and wife can have fun doing things together Why break there balls?
GlassTopRX7 people aren't perfect and make mistakes that's just life.. I just don't get my people gotta be so hurtful? Just unsubscribe Didn't know they did it for a living don't know them.. Either way I think it's cool they take the time to film and share what they are doing it's not easy I seen some cool cars come out of there I wish they would do more videos 👍
I love this, love seeing women doing automotive crafts, riding bikes driving semi's you really impressed the hell out of me with your skills and know how Emily!! Question, why not a hydraulic roller cam?
another awesome video. love that the hole family is in on it, good times. hope there are no plans to paint her, like the look of her low and those wheels!
I just recently found your channel. And I gotta say I love the content and the time you spend making your videos great and entertaining to watch. I hope you continue making amazing content :)
Love that 64. My first car was a 1964 so. That cam give that engine a fantastic sound. Great power a mild tune. I will keep watching. Thanks for the video. And no I did not get my first kiss in that car, haha. That was in my next car.
Emily, we'll never know it all. I started out helping my dad more than 60 years ago and about the time you think you've got it down pretty well, somebody finds a better way to do it or a better tool is invented or something. The learning is one of the best parts! That little niece of yours is getting a really good head start on the other kids that age.
Nice Work: LS is the way to go and plenty of parts available, and a shout out on the impy I have a 65 that is starving for attention now its just finding time amongst all the other projects lol :)
I enjoy your videos the best as they are natural and also include sailing and flying, but when are we going to see the final videos of the trailer conversion?
I wonder how the Comp Needle Bearing Trunnions are holding up. I remember Comp has an Issue with the metal used and was having failures. After multiple Comp Failures, I now use CHE Floating Bronze Trunnions.
Great video! To paraphrase an old quote: A family that does mechanics together stays bolted together. Your niece is adorable. But I am a little confused about that estimated flywheel number. Normally, drivetrain losses are in the 15-20% range which would make the flywheel power somewhere around 525-550 hp. Your thoughts?
I wish my wife was into cars like I am....and guns... I'm all lonely in my shop, extra set of hands comes in handy sometimes too. :( Sounds like she really knows what she's doing too... P.S. I wouldn't go solid roller setup on a street car, not if you're going to put any real mileage on it anyway. If it's a once in a while car, meh. Still wouldn't but a lot more acceptable since you have the time to check the valve train over more often and keep the lash adjusted properly and looking for signs of abnormal wear. P.S.S. Hair down looks fabulous.
Question: at 10:27 in the video you mention turn the engine over 360 degrees to set the gears on the crank. I'm old school engines and not familiar with the LS engines. Is it necessary to do that step on an LS engine? I thought that the gear only fit it one way. What possible issued would a person have that doesn't turn the engine over 360 degrees to set the gears on the crank? Thanks for any and all information that you have time to provide. Mitchell
When putting a motor on a stand or taking it off, it's a much better practice to separate the stand portion from the plate that bolts to the motor first. Just slide the handle out that rotates the motor, then slide the plate out from the stand. This way you can remove the bolts from the block without the weight of the stand pulling on them. Protect your threads!!! Especially important with an aluminum block.

Em, you are such a fine mechanic and your explanations and dialogue are superb.
Congrats on the great engine build. It sounds great. The patina on the '64 is awesome. Thanks for the shout out on our oil pump. So happy you covered how to prime the oil pump. I really enjoy the way you patiently work with the children and mentor them!
This video was great from the start but when you brought your daughter to help, and she knew what she was doing. Awesome!! Great Job!!
That's her niece

The shop of innovation and love.
Really like the way you include the spanner work on your vids. Shows you walk the talk as they say. And that little girl is awesome.
Glad you like it!!! She is the coolest niece around, for sure! Thanks for watching 😊👊🏼
i have told the guys in the shop that a supermodel is putting the engine together and if they cant do it then what is the problem. Great job Aron and Emily . Great inspiration for motivation of the workers.

I like this gale. Most car enthusiasts that I've seen are too insistent on trying to prove themselves as being better than the next person or show that they know the most. I like how she is casual and how she talks about what she is doing while she works.
Sure appreciate that, Cameron! I'm learning as I go!!

So great to see the child in there taking part in the action. Great video. You make it look so easy! Thanks for sharing.
Your daughter has more skills in the shop than 95% of the comment section.
Gilbert McGillicutty My daughter? Haha! Comment sections are something else. I know. 🙈 She's actually my niece, lives right next door and LOVES to wrench!! 😜 Got a kick out of your comments, thanks!!!

Thank you for the positive feedback!!! I edit it down trying not to have an hour long video- have enough content to show the project, give info on it yet have the fun show style moments in there!!!
Really appreciate the comment!
+Emily Williams id be ok with an hour long video lol. I like seeing all the little details in engine building.
Great video Emily I can tell how much you love what your doing and I can tell you know your stuff. Doesn't hurt that you are very easy on the eyes which is Texas saying I am sure you have heard. Thanks for all involved for making this awesome video.
Appreciate it!
I didn't know that thing about the intake manifold clearance, so this old retired mechanic learned something. Pretty cool.
Glad to see actual progress in a video, I know some shows for whatever the reason drag on and on (Budget constraints etc.) Glad to see you're getting your little one involved in cars, she won't have time to do dumb things if she's addicted to cars. Beautiful family, awesome work, this is by far my favorite UA-cam channel. God bless you guys!
Very kind, thank you!!!
LS engines are the greatest and should be put in everything haha. I like the static film work.
Direct copy of earlier Ford engine, 4 separate inlet and exhaust ports, Y block design, with crossbolted mains, Y shaped block, but OHV outdated technology, not a patch on Ford current engines.

Sure do appreciate that, Chris!!! I've got a lot to learn, but I'll keep at it for sure!!!!
Emily, we'll never know it all. I started out helping my dad more than 60 years ago and about the time you think you've got it down pretty well, somebody finds a better way to do it or a better tool is invented or something. Great video. She is adorable and she is going to be a gearhead for sure.

I think you are the best engine builder in the whole world
Nice Work: LS is the way to go and plenty of parts available, and a shout out on the impy I have a 65 that is starving for attention now its just finding time amongst all the other projects lol :)
Wow, I have found a real life Kaylee Frye she knows engines, And she is beautiful. keep up the good work guys. looking forward to more projects
Awesome channel, you two were made for each other, like bow ties and big blocks . Do an old Volvo build with a duramax !!
Nice work , great team and that shop pooch is bad ass!!
I enjoy your videos the best as they are natural and also include sailing and flying, but when are we going to see the final videos of the trailer conversion?
You know you are getting older when the thing you are most covetous of in this video is the well organized tool drawer. sooo hawt.
I don't Know who the little one is but she is a awesome kid.
The American We think so too!! She's our niece and lives next door, so she's with us a lot!!
What you guys are giving her is a lost art of the current Generation. Love the vids.
Came to watch, left amazed! You earned a sub 👌
Can't wait for the Z build!
I wonder how the Comp Needle Bearing Trunnions are holding up. I remember Comp has an Issue with the metal used and was having failures.
After multiple Comp Failures, I now use CHE Floating Bronze Trunnions.
Nice to see Shop Foreman Finley check in.
Awesome video, pretty detailed on the build process.
Excellent video on the conversion...thanks for the info
Love the tongue in cheek "sup, dawg" greeting the pooch.
Haha, he's a poor excuse for a shop dog but he's a likable lil guy!
Nelson Collier yes I agree no way it's over 600
Nelson Collier it would have to be making 525-550 @ the wheel
Whoa! Sounds healthy! Love those wheels too.
Nothing sexier than a gorgeous woman that knows her way around a shop and isn't afraid to get dirty!
Did you align the oil pump? Usually you have to take the pump cover off and put feeler gauges around it to make sure its centered inside.
Omg the way she decked the block loved it 😂
I wish my wife was into cars like I am....and guns...
P.S.S. Hair down looks fabulous.
tm you should really try to MYOFB!
Love the videos and the cars you work on
I did the same with my l96 but I put ls2 pistons in it with an asa cam.......it's awesome
Favorite youtube show!! Can't wait for the next episode!
Emily, LOVE the braids!!!!! Bob H.
Mitchell
That sounds so sweet. Oh, and the car sounds good too.
Just realized from one of your videos that were from the same area. Any interest in putting a 440 in my 3rd gen Dakota? It should be fun😎
Especially important with an aluminum block.
this video has endless reasons to love it. Subscribed!
Hahaha!!! Thank you!!!!!
awesome vid, I did have to watch the bit where you were going to rotate the engine 360° to get to the bottom of it twice lol
Great Job, that engine sounds awesome!
Best build video ever? gets my vote! :)
