Calories don't work like you think. It's insulin levels that are important. And corn syrup IS worse than sugar.

Its so refreshing to hear a doctor say that they dont know everything and that they are also learning and improving their methods. Too many doctors have a god complex where everything they say is fact

Billions in Asia east rice and carbs. Obesity isn't as rampant in Europe. The French eat bread and dessert. There must be something else in the American diet.

Personally, this discussion touched on many questions I had about ketogenic and keto friendly, and especially triglycerides. Thanks for your research👍

Thanks for this great discussion. Living in the PHILIPPINES mangoes, pineapple, papaya, and other fruits are something I will now cut way back on in my smoothies. I knew something was wrong. I have also experienced those "a little dizzy" feelings and will increase my liquids and salt.

I had maintained my weight pretty well on a low carbohydrate diet until the idea came out that carbohydrates were okay, but we should eat low fat. After I had gained a good bit of weight, which I put down partly to my age, I went on the South Beach Diet and lost about 40 pounds. My problem was in trying to figure out how to maintain my weight after I got it to the level I wanted. So I started gaining weight again, and gained more than I had lost. I went on a low carb diet again, and have lost about 50 pounds, but I seem to be stuck at this level. I think I have eased up a bit and am eating too much. My experience seems to indicate that going low carb definitely does help as it also helped my triglyceride and blood sugar levels. I do not think I have an addiction to sugar, but I do crave to have a little something sweet. Maybe I could make some little treats with one of the good sugar substitutes to satisfy that craving.

I used to feel weaker when I went for my racquet games in the morning with empty stomach. After I viewed the interview with Dr Dinicolantonio, I download 1.5 tea spoon pink salt before the game. My friends asked if I quilt not eating breakfast in the morning. I told him my secret and he immediate realised the reason why some soldiers in the past were paid in salt.

I have FH, an unmedicated LDL close to 300. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 50. Because of that my CAC score is almost 900. My whole adult life I ate a pretty plant forward pescatarian diet...not gunna lie, there was junk food too.
I was never overweight and was a personal trainer.
NOW, I’m 58 and have some menopause weight gain.
All my doctors have told me to maintain a low fat plant based diet. Fish was ok sometimes. Basically a stricter version of my long time diet.
Now you are telling me to eat high fat low carb?
So tell me, and all FH patients. What diet is best for US as we are told to keep all fat low.

Thank you, Dr. Gundry. 😃 I respect that you have guests on that you don’t see eye to eye with. I know you agree with the dangers of sugar but you don’t agree with too much protein nor too much of animal fat. I’m not sure why you didn’t respectfully disagree T some junctures. I know you give Dr. Saladino a hard time. Appreciate all you do.

Why is it so hard to say that smoking is bad but sugar and vegetable oi is much worse. People would be better off smoking and eating no sugar and not eating any vegetable oil. Hard to say in a cancel culture but true.

What about Kitavans (and other Melanesians and Polynesians) - their diet is heavy on tropical fruit, isn't it? What about these traditional diets that have high carbs (yams, coconut) and high fruit (papayas, etc.)? Hopefully someone answers!
