Yo im the creator of the game. This video is about the demo which is a over year old at this point. A lot has been updated in the full release, so I suggest u wait until then. Seriously, even I think the demo is shit

Those fangames like TS'underswap or this are about showing the game a bit differently. Ts!US is pretty nice, as it was really different from UT or even the normal US, because it switched characters like US, however it still kept the personalities they had in UT. There are a whole bunch of ways that this fangame could be different, entertaining, but the creator/s decided to make it almost normal undertale.
@@Gradient42 You'll have to wait until the full release then, or playthrough the demo yourself heheheh. This video doesn't actually show the true nature of PS!Outertale since it goes off of an outdated demo. There's way more unique stuff for the game then what's presented here.

You know, given that outertale is based around undertale in space, you'd think that they have a lot of options for different enviroments and areas, like imagine walking through a moon or saturn or near a black hole or even jumping through multiple meteors and so many possibilities for alien-like npcs, there's no limit on whatever people can do with outertale, and yet, people opt to be extremely basic or boring
Yeah like there's so many possibilities for different environments with the entirety of space itself, its such a waste to not use the idea of space rather than stupid space stations
@@Moonshine568 here, even i can come up with something more space-related than a lot of stuff in ps!outertale, it would be cool if omega flowey was like a giant eldritch creature mind-controlling the 6 human souls, and the finale part could be flowey throwing you to a black hole but the souls break free and try to help you out of it, so flowey desperately attacks you, and then you safely land onto some moon. Also, remember how the omega flowey battle has the red warning things before each soul phase? Well, what if outertale's version of that was some message like "lost connection with main base, reconnecting immediatly..."?
@dylanzlol7293 that sounds awesome, I love the idea of Flowey being something similar to cthulu. And maybe the different areas can be based on actual planets, Ruins can be based on Earth itself since it's the first basic area, Snowdin can be based on Uranus the coldest planet, Waterfall can be based on the Moon since the moon pulls on ocean waves, and Hotland obviously can be the Sun.
@@dylanzlol7293 I don't think you should rag on PS!Outertale like that when you haven't even seen the full extent of what were working on for it. There's going to be quite a lot of space related stuff for the full game, and you'll see the justification for why it's on a space station instead.
You probably already know this but I'll say it anyway. After you turn sans into organic sugar, in the papyrus battle, you can spare him if you just... Do nothing for some time(Mostly usaing the action "talk"), same with muffet. The rest... Yeah, more sugar. (SPOILER) This makes everyone (Mostly asgore and papyrus) think that asriel is controlling you.
If you found PS!Outertale's Genocide Route (officially named the Chaotic Route) interesting, I'd like to suggest playing the other major new route in the game (a Pacifist variant) or playing Darker Neutral (exactly what it says) when the full game (which is WAY better than any of the demos) comes out. Fun fact: Back in the game's earlier stages of development, the puzzles were supposed to be even harder. One of the most infamous puzzles in the demos was nigh-impossible to solve when it was first made. Thankfully, this did not happen.
@@Ink_Akane_Kurokawa It's a version of the Pacifist Route involving the narrator that's quite spoiler-y, and I'd recommend waiting for the full release before playing it. It can be accessed via some secrets in the Outlands.
Honestly, Adriel makes the whole game more interesting. Making Genocide more “fun” in a way. Which is NOT what you want from an “evil” route in a game.
I mean, yes evil routes in games can still be fun (just killing anyone like in a sandbox like fallout can be enjoyable), but I think you meant more so "evil route in the UNDERTALE game' as that is more fitting.

About point 3. Most Undertale AU concept are just "Undertale but ____" so i don't find weird that they make that. AUs Fangames that actually changes characters are rare.
Only not boring UT games are probably Undertale Multiverse Destruction, Sans Multiverse Remastered, Eternal Star and uhhh...I forgot it's name There was a game that you could fight enemies with your friends, sometimes enemies are "corrupted" which are stronger with better rewards and "corrupted" Toriel was Queen Toriel What was it's name?
0:29 and how long did it take for team swapped to make it? About 4 years for those first 2 zones filled with side content, new sprites, new secrets and more. My point is that you can’t create stuff like TSunderswap in a day. Imagine if they went and released the full game right now, it’d be baron, lifeless, and rushed beyond the first two maybe three zones. The PS crew likely don’t have as many people and they probably just planned on getting the primary parts of the game finished first then handle the details.

Heh. Yall have seen nothing what the full release will offer, as someone who has helped work on the game. Also it's funny you're judging from the Area 3 Demo too, when the Area 4 demo is right there. Quite a good amount of your complaints were already fixed in the Area 4 demo. Like the Outlands area design being too similar to Foundry's. WHICH YOU LITTERALLY SHOW THE UPDATED ONE AT 4:20. How can you keep that point in the video yet still show an updated version of that area, makes no sense to me. Honestly I'm not sure what the intent of this video was, it gives a bad impression of the game for tons of people when it will be way better than how it's presented here. If I were you, I probably would have just deleted the video and waited for the full release to come out and then make a full review on it. If you really think this way about PS!Outertale though, then the full release is going to more easily blow your expectations out of the water when you gradually go through the game. And even if you think the Area 4 demo also sucks overall, well I'd at least advise you to check out the full release too, it's probably not going to turn your opinion around, but you'll find something nice out of it.
When I saw this for the first on a different channel I thought it was just an animation (atleast the music is pretty that’s a plus in my book)and tbh I really thought that outertale was just undertale but space so I guess I can’t blame for not being original for diolouge but the maps you can have that one
This was a old demo(third area), if I remember it correctly, they already fixed his dialogue to not be like a cartoon villain like Flowey, as you know, he now has a soul
I'd play this over Undertale Yellow any day of the week. Having a decent damage formula alone already blows Yellow out of the water in terms of ensuring the Battles are fair to play through. The Boss Fights having ACTs that actually do something just obliterates it afterwards. SIGMA Balls, Undertale Yellow. I like how this game gives a lot of smaller actions Consequences too, like paying for Temmie's Cooleg making them better at the Time or Money Quiz Show due to their refined understanding of currency (Their sell prices at their shop change too!), being able to legitimately earn Undyne's respect through fighting Monsters in fair combat, and you can even get more proficient at flirting as you practice it, resulting in different outcomes depending on how good/bad at it you are. Lots of small details that add up. If you think a Character would react to something, they probably do. If you play the game again when it releases, I'd recommend being really mean to Toriel to spice up your Run since you already went with Pacifist and Genocide.
Its mostly because outertale is kinda bad au in general. Like the only big changes is that monsters have stars in attack patterns and overworld and characters have more spacy design ... And thats pretty much about it, well i guess also gaster blasters are now just black holes but thats minor change.
While this is an old demo and not representative of the final project, I don't want any of my stuff to end up like this. I wanna be creative, innovate with my fandom!
UV handled OT Sans somewhat better. UV generally treats and writes Sanses quite well. But the way Sans was treated in PS!OT was just super not great. He ain’t a fraud, he just wasn’t written and treated very well. Even more so in PS!OT.
"Their clothes are the only difference." "Sometimes they try to use different words but the meaning's the same." This is why I don't like most classic role-changing AU's, even under swap. If all that's gonna be changed is designs and trying to make EVERYTHING line up with the base game, it should be more of a concept

@@Asksalot_VeryCool really good, at first it may seem like a underswap au, but Flowey remembering the resets is what really changes it. - I really love how papyrus stays with Frisk for all the jorney instead of a certain skeleton that doesn't protect Frisk in the og game. - It also really feel nicer, both Asgore, Sans and Alphys letting Frisk have a normal life there, only Undyne being the exception. - Talking about Undyne, I lover the whole "she can reset" things. - There's also that Arg in that computer with all the passwords, showing scenes and lore we didn't saw before. - Not forgetting how Chara is always there as the narrator and friend to Frisk - I really love how character arcs are, and I can't wsit to see how it finished
As someone who normally enjoys your videos... I hated this one. Don't judge a game based on a demo which isn't even the most recent version of the game. There's an Area 4 Demo of it while you used the Area 3 Demo for most of your points. The full game is also coming out really soon, so please wait until then. Basically what Spacey said in another comment, the full game will pretty much blow all of your expectations out of the water and render everything you said in this video moot. This video might ruin the game's reputation and make everyone unwilling to play it even though you judged it based off a really old version of it, and I know that's not your intention. Trust me, this game is FAR better than your impression of it. Just saying.

Looks fine enough. Though Sans sacrificing for Paps like that both hurt me too, but also was kind of stupid for Sans in a way I kind of didn’t like. (Like if time stuff is still heavily involved and this is the Geno route, and Sans knows from early on u are doing a Geno route in UT and warns u to stop, Sans just sacrificing to save Paps is just, not the smartest. Though the way they did it wasn’t bad. But still, if the world is erased/Ends at the end of Geno Paps will die anyways. Sans warns u multiple times; including in Snowdin and in JH, because what u are doing might not be able to be undone this time; it will be The End. Also, I don’t really like Sans not having a Geno fight, but that that could be more of a personal thing on my part). Plus Sans is heavily nihilistic. He loves Paps very much, but nihilism, fatalism, and/or etc. can still get a major thing, including a major issue sometimes for Sans. So yeah. Saying that, that scene and some of the stuff after that with Paps were handled fine-ish; for having Sans sacrifice for Paps. It is not terrible at all, and still hurt me. I can just be picky about characters/characterization/etc. sometimes; though I can be pretty lenient sometimes; it just depends. In this case I was being picky though somewhat. (Not saying u can’t have characters do and act differently, even if u are going for more in-character. It just depends on how u do it. And the premise of ur story. I.e. example: Sans is less apathetic in TS!US, but the way it is done in TS!US makes a lot of sense to me, and I enjoy it. Similar thing for other characters/role-swaps. Besides that, this all just for fun and passion too. There is also that.). Off of that, Asriel is very cold and cruel in this game or at least the more murder-y route(s), even as a goat still. Which is interesting. What Asriel said about Sans was interesting too; happy Sans and Flowey still have some sort of history with each other. Some of the environments and designs and/or clothes look really nice and cool. And I am still excited for the full release; this was just me being in my picky about character stuff moods that I sometimes get into. I’m betting the full release will be even better; including character stuff. (PS: I think calling this the most boring fangame. Even more esp. just off demos is a bit harsh, and I don’t really agree with that. However, if BasedGuy thinks that, that is just how he feels about it, I guess).
Excited for all the routes variations and/or choices too. That can be cool to see in UT stuff and stuff. Good luck to the PS!Outertale creator on completing the rest of the game. Last update I saw from the creator, showed they were almost 90% complete! So close, that is awesome.
Why is he less apathetic and depressed though? Like it isn’t just the time stuff that cause that. But also because he has lost people, because he can’t get back (whatever that is), and the things he worked on and/or tried to fix, he couldn’t, Luke the machine. Stuff of his being undone, because of time stuff, etc. Then there is also the time stuff. He knows about the amalgamated and DT stuff too. Which also further affects him; like Alphys. But we’ll, in some different ways. I’m not saying he can’t be less depressed and apathetic though. I just hope there is a reason why. Like how TS!US gives a reason why. Though he is still very morally gray in that like he is in-game. And probably just as detached, if not more so. And etc. I’m not saying it had to be exactly like TS!US; of course not. I just hope for a reason; like how TS!US gives a reason. Also, Sans being depressed, apathetic, and/or nihilistic aren’t the only reasons why I wasn’t really a big fan of that scene. I also said I didn’t think it was very smart of Sans, for the reasons I gave. Which makes Sans further out of character for me in that scene, because of the reasons I stated , because again kind of, being smart is one of Sans’ core traits. I also don’t like Sans not having a fight in a Geno-type route, but that one is more of a personal/subway be thing on my part. Anyways…, my point is Sans being less nihilistic/depressed/apathetic aren’t the only issues I had w/ that scene. Like I stated in that comment (heck, I think I talked less about the things u mentioned, compared to the other stuff I talked about), and repeated and talked about even more in this comment. Overall, his scene did still make me sad, and I like some of the stuff Sans and/or Paps said. But besides that, I didn’t like it that much. And I kind of hope that scene is very different are just replaced with something else in the full game. But I know and would understand if that couldn’t be done or the creators just didn’t want to. I’m still gonna be excited for the game, but I am still gonna remain disappointed about this and stuff, if the scene and Sans and Paps’, mainly Sans’ character remains the same. And/or at least it is hopefully decently well explained why he is characterized so differently from the game. At least in this scene. (I don’t mind a character being a different take or having a different interpretation from me or from the norm. Or having different characterizations sometimes. It can just depend on the reasons and how it is done. (Which, in the case of PS!Outertale with this scene. While not the worst I have seen of Sans dying for Paps; I also wasn’t very fond of it either personally). Still excited for the game though. And I am sure u and other creator(s) worked hard on it, and are continuing to do so.

Fine. I still think him deciding to let himself get killed is not really something Sans would do and dumbs down his high intelligence. But if u could give him somewhat of a better reason why, then I will hopefully be less disappointed. Because as of right now, I am not liking some of how Sans and Paps are being handled. Also happy that there will be at least a reason why Sans is less depressed and stuff. But again, will also be waiting to see how well (or not) that is executed too.
This was a old demo(area 3) instead of the new one(area 4) or even the one being worked right now with the final area. - The outlands(ruins) got a small redesign being more red and stuff, starton also had new tilesets and decorations, that and all other areas will have a better design in the future. - And if you're meaning the writting and stuff instead of the design, the team also made a lot of stuff of little improvements in it, like putting that horrable math puzzle in a side path
I like this fangame, it's not the best, not even close, but an interesting experience that was enjoyable I would give this fangame 7/10 because I personally liked it but I understand why some people might not like it.

All the other ways that Sans could have saved Paps without letting himself get killed are also good points. Like with using bones, blue magic, even Gaster Blasters, teleportation (funnily enough Sans does use teleportation to help save people in TS!US), etc. Also, agree with ur comments quite a bit. I have made my own comments that also talk about how poorly I thought they handled Sans’ character and his death. Sans and/or Paps should still be written well and given focus and stuff, and not, well, not, just because of their popularity. Which is not the characters’ fault like u said. Besides them just being awesome characters. Anyways, I say Sans and Paps were poorly written and were very out of character. But I mainly mean Sans’ death scene and some of the stuff that came after it with Paps. Sans was also handled much more poorly in that scene than Paps was during and/or right after it imo. Though Paps could have been handled somewhat better too probably. Anyways once again, pretty good comments. Agree with a lot of what u said.
I don't think Blue magic was ever shown to give the person 100% control of one's soul and only change the gravity around them, Sans pushing away Papyrus using it would basically fling Papyrus into a wall or smth. As for the bones, they're probably weak, based on the fact we never see Sans use them in their fight to block incoming attacks, sides, if bones were able to resist a hit, there wouldn't be much concern about Paps getting one-shot. So, in my opinion, Sans blocking the hit was reasonable.
Daaaaaamn... I totally should have watched this video. If I made an UT fangame, I would be likely to fall at any of these flaws. Especially plagiarizing dialogues so the characters do not feel out of character. Guess I should reconsider a lot of things. P.S. oh god... the genocide run worked perfectly and plausibly changed the plot having its characters unchanged! How awesome. Killing off Sans also works both for shock value (a fangame? without a Sans Undertale?) and as a total gamechanger
PS!OT Sans is basically nothing like how he is in UT. In what way are the characters “uncharged”? Not even in just in the Chaotic route where the made a very smart character dumb, OOC, and killed him off in a stupid pointless way. Paps then died shortly after making Sans’ death even more dumb and pointless. Paps didn’t even put up a fight. Some of the characters are treated fine to good in this game. Sans is not. Same w/ Paps, but a bit less so than Sans. Chaotic in general doesn’t work perfectly and is probably one of the routes in this game with the most bit so great writing. And I love the UT Geno route and a fair amount of fan Geno-type routes. Plenty of games and stuff already don’t have Sans in it. PS!OT isn’t really special for that. And they could have still focused on him and/or treated him better and/or etc., even if they wanted to focus more on other characters.
I actually like UV OT Sane and there are some elements of PS!OT Sans I like 5overall I don’t though). But yeah, OT Sans can do with some better takes (there are some. Like in some fics I read for example. But still).
It would be cool to see paps being like a reasercher of the galaxy,and that to befriend him you would need to like,go to a new section with a treasure galaxy themed or even something different.I think it would make sense if it happended at another planet with a lot of mountains. That also would create another idea,that every zone is a different planet,and are connected by a rocket system,would be cool that once you finish the game,the rocket can lead you to the planet you wish to,but at a normal playthough you can only go from point A to point B
PS:For a geno i hope they do different bossfight for characters like papyrus,would love to see paps putting his all into stopping you,instead of (accidentally) getting Sans´ as a temporal meat shield.
I have seen OT and/or etc. takes that do have the different zones be different planets, moons, etc. It is a very interesting and cool idea. Also, why Paps and not Sans or Alphys? Saying that, Paps could be cool (too).

Outertale take where it's just Frisk pointlessly floating through space in a spacesuit, meeting space versions of the cast doing the same, passing by with small pieces of dialogue 'till they're off-screen. After Asgore, you bump into all human souls, breaking the space barrier, making everyone crash-land to Earth
A lot of people are pretending that this game has been totally reworked from the ground up since the full release, fixing every single problem with the demo. And I mean, it really hasn't. The puzzles are still the same (the most egregious examples in this video being entirely unchanged). In fact, even the new puzzles are just as tedious, none of them (other than the math one in Starton) feel legitimately challenging, they just all waste your time instead of making you reason things out. Every area still feels the exact same, and the majority of the dialogue is copy/pasted from base undertale. The endgames are entirely different from normal undertale, and they're great, it makes me wonder why they couldn't make the rest of the game seem even somewhat distinct. I haven't done the genocide route yet so I can't speak for its quality. Spoilers ahead for a more thorough review of the route I have done _Unfortunately,_ though, the lv0 run I did was not without problems. Chara being blatantly revealed at the start was an awful choice. Nothing is done with them for the entire game, they just chime in with an "erm, _that_ just happened" every time you do a major fight. Chara's dialogue in general is just unbearable, the writer clearly had such an obsession with writing them as a wholesome bean that could do no wrong, to the point where it makes the backstory of Chara trying to wipe out humanity into a complete non sequitur. And the epilogue is just unbearable, for some reason everybody ditches you after you see Asriel, forcing you to walk through the entire empty space station with absolutely nothing to do except listen to Asriel chime in every now and then to say the same idea of missing Chara over and over again. They even remove all fast travel. I was legitimately interested when you go into the simulation to meet the other humans and have to fix their situation, but the rest of the pacifist ending is such a flop.
So about the pacifist ending. There is another pacifist ending where they don't ditch you. Maybe the ending where you get abandoned is when you fight asriel and not spare him but idk
@@Warking19 I heard about that ending, and it's a neat idea, though I really have no desire to play it. I'm talking exclusively about the lv0 ending, where you walk from the very start of the game to the very end with exactly zero people to talk to. When I played the game, I wanted to go meet Asriel, then talk to everybody on my way back through, but everybody completely vanishes as soon as you enter the room where Asriel is
Honestly, just delete the video. Apologize or state somewhere in the description that you used an outdated DEMO version of the game. Full game's gonna be SO MUCH better. I also must agree with the other guy in the comments that calling it "the most boring fangame" is a HUGE OVERSTATEMENT. Sorry bro, but ur not based anymore...
He should have at least tamen the new demo instead of a old one, or you know, waiting for the final demo with the polish stuff. - A lot of things he was talking about were fixed in the Arialisis demo or will be fixed in the Citadel one, areas got some redesigns, red ruins, hologram trees, a better sky. - A lot of dialogue and events were rewriten betwen the Arialisis demo(area 4) and the new one being worked(area 5), he just isn't seeing it because of saying the area 3 demo

It's that the guy got the Foundry(waterfall) demo, instead of the Arialisis(hotland) demo, were it had a redesign of the Outlands and also new ideas, like Mk actually knowing you're a human, and the Arialisis demo is also outdated, the new one has a lot more stuff

I get clickbait, but calling this the most boring fangame leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's not that good, but it's nowhere near that bad Calling it "near unplayable" is a huge over exaggeration, too + this is a very outdated demo, but even still. Try to be more respectful and honest
There are new stuff, like Mk being a party member, but the thing I love the most about ps outertale are the routes and actions, our actions have a lot more consequences. For example, in undertale, we could kill 50+ monsters, but we would be treated normally with Alphys saying she watched us and want to help, in here, Alphys and mettaton just never greet you in a dark neutral route, theses and other stuff really make the game stand out. Another thing about choices are the new flirt and bully routes
The biggest problem is that this video is from the old third area demo instead of the newest fourth area one, were a lot of his problems were fixed, update to areas, one with made some puzzles as a side path, and new dialogue and events. And in the last update, there will be even more area changes(one puzzle will not be active in pacifist) with new decorations, new dialogue and events and more. Us his fault he took a old demo instead of a new one, It's also his fault that he is saying the demo is bad, when there's a warming on the page saying is outated and a lot of stuff changed
I personally love PS!Outertale because it doesn't try to be a "New undertale". It just spins old characters. There's work put into each character, and the minor changes alter the story in a way that I love.
The guy is making this video of a really old demo of the third area, this game already goes into the fourth, and the final one is almost done. Mettaton neo is actually a real fight in the game, not only that, the ruins and other areas had some small changes to make them flash out more. And the game isn't boring, I had fun with a lot of stuff, spaceship minigame, having Mk as a party member, a lot of new routes like the flirt/bully route, napstablook having more focus even having a store and more

Funny, because they took a old demo, when the new one fixed a lot of stuff they were talking about, and the one being worked on fixes even more stuff, areas had graphic changes, even more coming in the new update, some puzzles are in side paths or deactivated in pacifist, and dialogue was rewriten and more

I’ll admit too, PS outertale was a very bland fangame before the full release. But with the full release a couple of days ago, I was amazed. I also believe this fangame follows the whole ‘there are consequences from your actions’ idea very well, I can’t say how without spoiling the endings. I’m just curious if anyone else still thinks this fangame is boring because the release pretty much improved or solved every problem mentioned in this video.
There are new stuff, like Mk being a party member, new napstablook and the ghost cousins interactions and more. - but the thing I love the most about ps outertale are the routes and actions, our actions have a lot more consequences. For example, in undertale, we could kill 50+ monsters, but we would be treated normally with Alphys saying she watched us and want to help, in here, Alphys and mettaton just never greet you in a dark neutral route, theses and other stuff really make the game stand out. - Another thing about choices are the new flirt and bully routes, a cool thing to the game - The biggest problem is that this video is from the old third area demo instead of the newest fourth area one, were a lot of his problems were fixed, update to areas, one with made some puzzles as a side path, and new dialogue and events. - And in the last update, there will be even more area changes(one puzzle will not be active in pacifist) with new decorations, new dialogue and events and more. - Us his fault he took a old demo instead of a new one, It's also his fault that he is saying the demo is bad, when there's a warming on the page saying is outated and a lot of stuff changed

No they didn’t. They played up his naivety way too much imo, with how u can still kill him (though tbf, u can spare him too. Those fangames like TS'underswap or this are about showing the game a bit differently. Ts!US is pretty nice, as it was really different from UT or even the normal US, because it switched characters like US, however it still kept the personalities they had in UT. There are a whole bunch of ways that this fangame could be different, entertaining, but the creator/s decided to make it almost normal undertale.

You know, given that outertale is based around undertale in space, you'd think that they have a lot of options for different enviroments and areas, like imagine walking through a moon or saturn or near a black hole or even jumping through multiple meteors and so many possibilities for alien-like npcs, there's no limit on whatever people can do with outertale, and yet, people opt to be extremely basic or boring

@@Moonshine568 here, even i can come up with something more space-related than a lot of stuff in ps!outertale, it would be cool if omega flowey was like a giant eldritch creature mind-controlling the 6 human souls, and the finale part could be flowey throwing you to a black hole but the souls break free and try to help you out of it, so flowey desperately attacks you, and then you safely land onto some moon.
Also, remember how the omega flowey battle has the red warning things before each soul phase? Well, what if outertale's version of that was some message like "lost connection with main base, reconnecting immediatly..."?

And maybe the different areas can be based on actual planets, Ruins can be based on Earth itself since it's the first basic area, Snowdin can be based on Uranus the coldest planet, Waterfall can be based on the Moon since the moon pulls on ocean waves, and Hotland obviously can be the Sun.

If you found PS!Outertale's Genocide Route (officially named the Chaotic Route) interesting, I'd like to suggest playing the other major new route in the game (a Pacifist variant) or playing Darker Neutral (exactly what it says) when the full game (which is WAY better than any of the demos) comes out.
Fun fact: Back in the game's earlier stages of development, the puzzles were supposed to be even harder. One of the most infamous puzzles in the demos was nigh-impossible to solve when it was first made. Thankfully, this did not happen.

I think Deltarune's combat is inherently more fan than Undertale's combat, thanks to this, I found Queen's palace to be alright and not annoying or boring.

0:29 and how long did it take for team swapped to make it? About 4 years for those first 2 zones filled with side content, new sprites, new secrets and more. My point is that you can’t create stuff like TSunderswap in a day. Imagine if they went and released the full game right now, it’d be baron, lifeless, and rushed beyond the first two maybe three zones. The PS crew likely don’t have as many people and they probably just planned on getting the primary parts of the game finished first then handle the details.

Also it's funny you're judging from the Area 3 Demo too, when the Area 4 demo is right there. Quite a good amount of your complaints were already fixed in the Area 4 demo. Like the Outlands area design being too similar to Foundry's. WHICH YOU LITTERALLY SHOW THE UPDATED ONE AT 4:20. How can you keep that point in the video yet still show an updated version of that area, makes no sense to me.
Honestly I'm not sure what the intent of this video was, it gives a bad impression of the game for tons of people when it will be way better than how it's presented here. If I were you, I probably would have just deleted the video and waited for the full release to come out and then make a full review on it.
If you really think this way about PS!Outertale though, then the full release is going to more easily blow your expectations out of the water when you gradually go through the game.
And even if you think the Area 4 demo also sucks overall, well I'd at least advise you to check out the full release too, it's probably not going to turn your opinion around, but you'll find something nice out of it.

I'd play this over Undertale Yellow any day of the week. Having a decent damage formula alone already blows Yellow out of the water in terms of ensuring the Battles are fair to play through. The Boss Fights having ACTs that actually do something just obliterates it afterwards. SIGMA Balls, Undertale Yellow.
I like how this game gives a lot of smaller actions Consequences too, like paying for Temmie's Cooleg making them better at the Time or Money Quiz Show due to their refined understanding of currency (Their sell prices at their shop change too!), being able to legitimately earn Undyne's respect through fighting Monsters in fair combat, and you can even get more proficient at flirting as you practice it, resulting in different outcomes depending on how good/bad at it you are. Lots of small details that add up. If you think a Character would react to something, they probably do.
If you play the game again when it releases, I'd recommend being really mean to Toriel to spice up your Run since you already went with Pacifist and Genocide.

Its mostly because outertale is kinda bad au in general. Like the only big changes is that monsters have stars in attack patterns and overworld and characters have more spacy design ... And thats pretty much about it, well i guess also gaster blasters are now just black holes but thats minor change.

UV handled OT Sans somewhat better. UV generally treats and writes Sanses quite well.
But the way Sans was treated in PS!OT was just super not great.

As someone who normally enjoys your videos... I hated this one. Don't judge a game based on a demo which isn't even the most recent version of the game. There's an Area 4 Demo of it while you used the Area 3 Demo for most of your points. The full game is also coming out really soon, so please wait until then. Basically what Spacey said in another comment, the full game will pretty much blow all of your expectations out of the water and render everything you said in this video moot. This video might ruin the game's reputation and make everyone unwilling to play it even though you judged it based off a really old version of it, and I know that's not your intention. Looks fine enough. Though Sans sacrificing for Paps like that both hurt me too, but also was kind of stupid for Sans in a way I kind of didn’t like.
(Like if time stuff is still heavily involved and this is the Geno route, and Sans knows from early on u are doing a Geno route in UT and warns u to stop, Sans just sacrificing to save Paps is just, not the smartest. Though the way they did it wasn’t bad. But still, if the world is erased/Ends at the end of Geno Paps will die anyways. Sans warns u multiple times; including in Snowdin and in JH, because what u are doing might not be able to be undone this time; it will be The End. Also, I don’t really like Sans not having a Geno fight, but that that could be more of a personal thing on my part).
Plus Sans is heavily nihilistic. He loves Paps very much, but nihilism, fatalism, and/or etc. can still get a major thing, including a major issue sometimes for Sans. So yeah.
Saying that, that scene and some of the stuff after that with Paps were handled fine-ish; for having Sans sacrifice for Paps. It is not terrible at all, and still hurt me. I can just be picky about characters/characterization/etc. sometimes; though I can be pretty lenient sometimes; it just depends. In this case I was being picky though somewhat.
(Not saying u can’t have characters do and act differently, even if u are going for more in-character. It just depends on how u do it. And the premise of ur story. I.e. example: Sans is less apathetic in TS!US, but the way it is done in TS!US makes a lot of sense to me, and I enjoy it. Similar thing for other characters/role-swaps. Besides that, this all just for fun and passion too. There is also that.).
Off of that, Asriel is very cold and cruel in this game or at least the more murder-y route(s), even as a goat still. Which is interesting.
What Asriel said about Sans was interesting too; happy Sans and Flowey still have some sort of history with each other.
Some of the environments and designs and/or clothes look really nice and cool.
And I am still excited for the full release; this was just me being in my picky about character stuff moods that I sometimes get into. I’m betting the full release will be even better; including character stuff.
(PS: I think calling this the most boring fangame. Even more esp. just off demos is a bit harsh, and I don’t really agree with that. However, if BasedGuy thinks that, that is just how he feels about it, I guess).

Sans is actually not as apathetic or depressed as you may think in PS!Outertale.
So his characterization here has reasons for being this way.
Why is he less apathetic and depressed though?
Like it isn’t just the time stuff that cause that.
But also because he has lost people, because he can’t get back (whatever that is), and the things he worked on and/or tried to fix, he couldn’t, Luke the machine. Stuff of his being undone, because of time stuff, etc.
Then there is also the time stuff.
He knows about the amalgamated and DT stuff too. Which also further affects him; like Alphys. But we’ll, in some different ways.
I’m not saying he can’t be less depressed and apathetic though. I just hope there is a reason why.
Like how TS!US gives a reason why. Though he is still very morally gray in that like he is in-game. And probably just as detached, if not more so. And etc. I’m not saying it had to be exactly like TS!US; of course not. I just hope for a reason; like how TS!US gives a reason.
Also, Sans being depressed, apathetic, and/or nihilistic aren’t the only reasons why I wasn’t really a big fan of that scene. I also said I didn’t think it was very smart of Sans, for the reasons I gave. Which makes Sans further out of character for me in that scene, because of the reasons I stated , because again kind of, being smart is one of Sans’ core traits.
I also don’t like Sans not having a fight in a Geno-type route, but that one is more of a personal/subway be thing on my part.
Anyways…, my point is Sans being less nihilistic/depressed/apathetic aren’t the only issues I had w/ that scene. Like I stated in that comment (heck, I think I talked less about the things u mentioned, compared to the other stuff I talked about), and repeated and talked about even more in this comment.
Overall, his scene did still make me sad, and I like some of the stuff Sans and/or Paps said. But besides that, I didn’t like it that much. And I kind of hope that scene is very different are just replaced with something else in the full game.
But I know and would understand if that couldn’t be done or the creators just didn’t want to.
I’m still gonna be excited for the game, but I am still gonna remain disappointed about this and stuff, if the scene and Sans and Paps’, mainly Sans’ character remains the same.
And/or at least it is hopefully decently well explained why he is characterized so differently from the game. At least in this scene.
(I don’t mind a character being a different take or having a different interpretation from me or from the norm. Or having different characterizations sometimes. It can just depend on the reasons and how it is done.
(Which, in the case of PS!Outertale with this scene. While not the worst I have seen of Sans dying for Paps; I also wasn’t very fond of it either personally).
Still excited for the game though. And I am sure u and other creator(s) worked hard on it, and are continuing to do so.

The outlands(ruins) got a small redesign being more red and stuff, starton also had new tilesets and decorations, that and all other areas will have a better design in the future.

I like this fangame, it's not the best, not even close, but an interesting experience that was enjoyable
I would give this fangame 7/10 because I personally liked it but I understand why some people might not like it.

All the other ways that Sans could have saved Paps without letting himself get killed are also good points.
Like with using bones, blue magic, even Gaster Blasters, teleportation (funnily enough Sans does use teleportation to help save people in TS!US), etc.

I have made my own comments that also talk about how poorly I thought they handled Sans’ character and his death.
Sans and/or Paps should still be written well and given focus and stuff, and not, well, not, just because of their popularity. Which is not the characters’ fault like u said. Besides them just being awesome characters.
Anyways, I say Sans and Paps were poorly written and were very out of character. But I mainly mean Sans’ death scene and some of the stuff that came after it with Paps.
Sans was also handled much more poorly in that scene than Paps was during and/or right after it imo. Though Paps could have been handled somewhat better too probably.
Anyways once again, pretty good comments. Agree with a lot of what u said.
I don't think Blue magic was ever shown to give the person 100% control of one's soul and only change the gravity around them, Sans pushing away Papyrus using it would basically fling Papyrus into a wall or smth.
As for the bones, they're probably weak, based on the fact we never see Sans use them in their fight to block incoming attacks, sides, if bones were able to resist a hit, there wouldn't be much concern about Paps getting one-shot.
So, in my opinion, Sans blocking the hit was reasonable.
Asgore in Sans' place in the genocide run would be really cool, especially since Asgore can canonically dodge attacks

I totally should have watched this video. If I made an UT fangame, I would be likely to fall at any of these flaws. Especially plagiarizing dialogues so the characters do not feel out of character. Guess I should reconsider a lot of things.
P.S. oh god... the genocide run worked perfectly and plausibly changed the plot having its characters unchanged! How awesome. Killing off Sans also works both for shock value (a fangame? without a Sans Undertale?) and as a total gamechanger
Outertale Sans is a useless in this game both in this game and Underverse.
Sans is written and treated badly in this game. Not a fan of that.
PS!OT Sans is basically nothing like how he is in UT. In what way are the characters “uncharged”?
Not even in just in the Chaotic route where the made a very smart character dumb, OOC, and killed him off in a stupid pointless way.
Paps then died shortly after making Sans’ death even more dumb and pointless. Paps didn’t even put up a fight.
Some of the characters are treated fine to good in this game.

Chaotic in general doesn’t work perfectly and is probably one of the routes in this game with the most bit so great writing. And I love the UT Geno route and a fair amount of fan Geno-type routes.
Plenty of games and stuff already don’t have Sans in it. PS!OT isn’t really special for that.
And they could have still focused on him and/or treated him better and/or etc., even if they wanted to focus more on other characters.
I actually like UV OT Sane and there are some elements of PS!OT Sans I like 5overall I don’t though).
But yeah, OT Sans can do with some better takes (there are some. Like in some fics I read for example. But still).

It would be cool to see paps being like a reasercher of the galaxy,and that to befriend him you would need to like,go to a new section with a treasure galaxy themed or even something different.I think it would make sense if it happended at another planet with a lot of mountains.
That also would create another idea,that every zone is a different planet,and are connected by a rocket system,would be cool that once you finish the game,the rocket can lead you to the planet you wish to,but at a normal playthough you can only go from point A to point B
PS:For a geno i hope they do different bossfight for characters like papyrus,would love to see paps putting his all into stopping you,instead of (accidentally) getting Sans´ as a temporal meat shield.

Second take when
Outertale take where it's just Frisk pointlessly floating through space in a spacesuit, meeting space versions of the cast doing the same, passing by with small pieces of dialogue 'till they're off-screen. After Asgore, you bump into all human souls, breaking the space barrier, making everyone crash-land to Earth
A lot of people are pretending that this game has been totally reworked from the ground up since the full release, fixing every single problem with the demo. And I mean, it really hasn't. The puzzles are still the same (the most egregious examples in this video being entirely unchanged). In fact, even the new puzzles are just as tedious, none of them (other than the math one in Starton) feel legitimately challenging, they just all waste your time instead of making you reason things out. Every area still feels the exact same, and the majority of the dialogue is copy/pasted from base undertale. The endgames are entirely different from normal undertale, and they're great, it makes me wonder why they couldn't make the rest of the game seem even somewhat distinct. I haven't done the genocide route yet so I can't speak for its quality.
Spoilers ahead for a more thorough review of the route I have done
_Unfortunately,_ though, the lv0 run I did was not without problems. Chara being blatantly revealed at the start was an awful choice. Nothing is done with them for the entire game, they just chime in with an "erm, _that_ just happened" every time you do a major fight. Chara's dialogue in general is just unbearable, the writer clearly had such an obsession with writing them as a wholesome bean that could do no wrong, to the point where it makes the backstory of Chara trying to wipe out humanity into a complete non sequitur. And the epilogue is just unbearable, for some reason everybody ditches you after you see Asriel, forcing you to walk through the entire empty space station with absolutely nothing to do except listen to Asriel chime in every now and then to say the same idea of missing Chara over and over again. They even remove all fast travel. I was legitimately interested when you go into the simulation to meet the other humans and have to fix their situation, but the rest of the pacifist ending is such a flop.
So about the pacifist ending. There is another pacifist ending where they don't ditch you. Maybe the ending where you get abandoned is when you fight asriel and not spare him but idk

I'm talking exclusively about the lv0 ending, where you walk from the very start of the game to the very end with exactly zero people to talk to. When I played the game, I wanted to go meet Asriel, then talk to everybody on my way back through, but everybody completely vanishes as soon as you enter the room where Asriel is

Apologize or state somewhere in the description that you used an outdated DEMO version of the game. Full game's gonna be SO MUCH better.
I also must agree with the other guy in the comments that calling it "the most boring fangame" is a HUGE OVERSTATEMENT.

A lot of things he was talking about were fixed in the Arialisis demo or will be fixed in the Citadel one, areas got some redesigns, red ruins, hologram trees, a better sky.

A lot of dialogue and events were rewriten betwen the Arialisis demo(area 4) and the new one being worked(area 5), he just isn't seeing it because of saying the area 3 demo

It's that the guy got the Foundry(waterfall) demo, instead of the Arialisis(hotland) demo, were it had a redesign of the Outlands and also new ideas, like Mk actually knowing you're a human, and the Arialisis demo is also outdated, the new one has a lot more stuff

You do realize this is a demo of a game simply about placing undertale in space right? Not much is really going to change outside of the setting.
There is plenty of stuff u can do w/ this setting though.

There are new stuff, like Mk being a party member, but the thing I love the most about ps outertale are the routes and actions, our actions have a lot more consequences.
For example, in undertale, we could kill 50+ monsters, but we would be treated normally with Alphys saying she watched us and want to help, in here, Alphys and mettaton just never greet you in a dark neutral route, theses and other stuff really make the game stand out.
Another thing about choices are the new flirt and bully routes
The biggest problem is that this video is from the old third area demo instead of the newest fourth area one, were a lot of his problems were fixed, update to areas, one with made some puzzles as a side path, and new dialogue and events.
And in the last update, there will be even more area changes(one puzzle will not be active in pacifist) with new decorations, new dialogue and events and more.
Us his fault he took a old demo instead of a new one, It's also his fault that he is saying the demo is bad, when there's a warming on the page saying is outated and a lot of stuff changed

I personally love PS!Outertale because it doesn't try to be a "New undertale". It just spins old characters. There's work put into each character, and the minor changes alter the story in a way that I love.
Since Sans died early then that leaves the possibility for a Mettaton NEO or genocide Asgore fight
The guy is making this video of a really old demo of the third area, this game already goes into the fourth, and the final one is almost done.
Mettaton neo is actually a real fight in the game, not only that, the ruins and other areas had some small changes to make them flash out more.
And the game isn't boring, I had fun with a lot of stuff, spaceship minigame, having Mk as a party member, a lot of new routes like the flirt/bully route, napstablook having more focus even having a store and more
This video is really harsh for a oldated demo from over a year ago, they should at least taken the newest demo avaliable

Funny, because they took a old demo, when the new one fixed a lot of stuff they were talking about, and the one being worked on fixes even more stuff, areas had graphic changes, even more coming in the new update, some puzzles are in side paths or deactivated in pacifist, and dialogue was rewriten and more

I’ll admit too, PS outertale was a very bland fangame before the full release. But with the full release a couple of days ago, I was amazed.
I also believe this fangame follows the whole ‘there are consequences from your actions’ idea very well, I can’t say how without spoiling the endings.
I’m just curious if anyone else still thinks this fangame is boring because the release pretty much improved or solved every problem mentioned in this video.

No they didn’t. They played up his naivety way too much imo, with how u can still kill him (though tbf, u can spare him too. But the fact u can still him so early on after what happened, just makes the writing for him and Sans nowhere how it should be when u consider their canon selves) so quickly and to easily honestly after Sans literally takes a hit a die right in front of him. So no, they didn’t really get canon Paps right.
And I don’t have to repeat again about how they aren’t getting Sans right either, because I have already probably said that too much in the comments.
