I was watching Law & Order Criminal Intent & a woman was very manipulative. Goren was describing her psychosocial make up saying the slightest compliment from a man made her feel there was a relationship going on when there wasn't & he said that's Borderline behavior. I’m Nigerian. This is vile. I work abroad. And I always pause before I say where I’m from. Sometimes I just say I’m from Africa. Then I decided to not let these vile people represent me.
They say things are hard. Yes. They are. I went months without getting paid. Never ONCE did it cross my mind to take another person’s hard earned money!!!!! How dare you implicate another person!
I hate it. I hate it. Look. It’s really hard. I know. I lived that life and I know how hard it is to get work sometimes. But. There’s good honest work too. I know sometimes my employers couldn’t pay me. But we kept our heads down and worked. And then got headhunted out of Nigeria by an international country. There’s legal ways to survive. Maybe you won’t have much, but at least you will sleep knowing that you didn’t steal the money you have.
This really infuriated me! Everyone can give excuses. But tell you what. As much as these morally bankrupt individuals are screaming there’s no work, you should see how some of them revile their ‘targets’. With so much disdain and a complete lack of empathy.
I’m so sorry for the rant. But I saw this and I was so mad.

@@zerocal76 i mean, i think that’s an oversimplification and generalization of the elderly. plenty of elderly ppl have exciting, joyful lives filled with friends, family, pets, hobbies. “no one wants to talk to the elderly” isn’t true. there are countless cases on this channel of ppl who have children that beg them not to send these scammers money (often times, money that was originally being saved for their children's schooling) and they still don't understand. it's often BECAUSE of these cases that their families stop talking to them.

@@zerocal76you’re absolutely right. While what the other person said is also true that many elderly still have full and happy lives, loneliness is rampant in that population. People are so self absorbed these days even when they don’t mean to be. Their children are gone raising their own families while constantly telling themselves that when life slows down they’ll visit their parents more, maybe they’re widowed or have health issues so they struggle to get out into the community. It’s incredibly sad, and an important reminder that we should be calling our loved ones regularly and visiting as much as possible. Sadly, it’s only going to get worse… loneliness is an epidemic even in younger generations these days… we need to be kinder while showing love and support to the people around us. God Bless.

Those feckers go after these ladies. Most of these romance scam victims seem to be suffering from low self-esteem and self hatred of themselves, which is probably why they always fall for these scams. It's never about their intelligence, it's about their emotions, and the emotions are what these scammers are playing with. Take time for themselves, go to therapy, take better care of their health, and just learn how to better themselves

It's true. People always insult the intelligence of these poor victims and talk about how they have no sympathy, but scamming is almost never about being smarter than the target, it's about knowing howto manipulate their emotions. Emotions are powerful, they overwhelm our common sense and make us believe obvious lies. Sometimes it's for a good thing - You can't love anyone or believe anyone loves you if you don't use your emotions. And trying to help out the less fortunate, especially someone you care about, is an emotional response that isn't bad. The problem is, these scammers use these normal, good things and turn them into weapons against innocent people. And in cases like this, they see someone who doesn't love themselves, who had past abuse and toxic relationships that taught them they were unlovable and that basic human decency is something they shouldn't expect from other people, and they exploit that to hurt people. It's horrible and heartbreaking, because they target people who already need help and make things worse for that poor person.

Those women usually aren't bothered by having more transactional relationships to avoid drama, specially those who have a history of bad relationships in the past.
