32:52 - I need to compliment you on your neat and tidy inventory! I always strive for this level of organization but looting is a constant in this game.
Nice video ! I wonder if the corpse economy is still awfull for a necromancer run ? I made my first BG3 run as a necromancer, at a time when you could still summon 4 ghouls out of one corpse. But then they patched it and you needed 4 corpse for 4 ghouls. The game became a horror show of corpse micro-management. Is it still the case or is it better now ?
"You can get the Spellmight Gloves by simply doing her quest" There is nothing simple or quick about that quest, my ass is killing her every playthrough for those gloves whether I use them or not lol
I head that counter spell and casador bug as well I wasn't sure if it a bug or they just changed counterspell somehow delited my almoust, I defeated casador was my last guy then I wanted to make some elderbrain stue..... Welp he whipped my level 12 min maxed honor mode Party due to counterspell not working and me not doing sh to him 89h down the drain....
Well, the obvious problem is ofc the lack of very good necromancy spells in the early game. For a example a fire sorc gets fireball at level 5 while you get 1 undead summon. Like you can't even compare this. It's an insane power gab at this level. Ofc you could in theory also use this spell as a necromancer, but then it no longer feels like you're playing a necromancer. So, it's understandable that not many players are willing to do that. Then the second problem is, once you get your first very good necromancy spell at level 7; Blight. You can't even properly use it, because most of the enemies in the second act are undead. So, to be effective in the second act as a necromancer you are forced to buy Cloud Kill scrolls, if you don't want to step out of the necromancy theme. A problem that the other spellcaster builds do not have. Not even talking about that beating Myrkul as a pure solo necromancer is a challenge for itself. At the third act we start talking. Because now you start getting all of the top tier necromancy spells and the Heightened Necromancy and Life Essence Harvest passive features, which turns you into a very deadly force very quickly. And I would even go so far and say, that in many situations you are even stronger than your average elemental damage sorc or evocation wizard build. Compared to a good magic missile build, or against a storm wizard/sorc that is able to get lightning weakness on their enemies you are still very weak though. The summons you use as a necromancer are not a big advantage in my opinion. They are able to deal some damage from time to time, maybe even paralyze an enemy. And they can tank some damage for you, which isn't anything too crazy. Definitely useful, but nothing game changing. The bomb combo with the Danse Macabre ghouls is ofc very strong, but it's a very unique interaction, that requires some preparation before the fight. To draw a conclusion playing a pure necromancer in the early game can be very painful and unrewarding. But in a direct comparison the late game necromancer is a very rewarding and fun build to play. Also, because it's a different playstyle for once. I find most spellcaster builds have a very similar playstyle and the necromancer stands out a bit. However, I can't tell you if you will find the necromancer to be an enjoyable build to play. That is something you have to find out yourself. One last thing I would like to add though. No matter how fun and strong this build can be it's still not a meta build. - Early Game = weak - Mid Game = decent, if you use Cloud Kill scrolls, but still incredible weak against Myrkul. - Late Game = pretty strong
@@SleepingDog. wow thank you for the above and beyond response :'D I've been doing an honor mode run as a necromancer! mind you, not solo-- I don't think I have the game knowledge / expertise to do that yet, although watching you play definitely makes me want to try it out but like you said now that I'm finally in act 3 with all the good necromancer stuff it finally feels like the build is coming online, definitely a lot of fun specially with the necromancer staff :> thematically I absolutely love necromancer and seeing it finally start to pop off is so much fun hahah honestly it's so much fun and watching your series definitely was a big inspiration to give it a try, ty c:
Hey, how did you make your character look like this? Did you use mods? Or is it normal skin tone for drows, when I wanted my elf to look like this I couldn't choose such skin tone
The skin color is either Ice 1 or Lichen 1, can't remember exactly which one I chose. Her skin color in her profile picture looks more white than it actually is because of the grey background she gets from being a drow. However, if you choose one of these skin tones, your skin should look exactly like my character's in the game and cutscenes. The race you play shouldn't matter. The only mods I used for her character creation are Vemperen's Other Heads or Faces of Faerun (can't remember which one) for her head preset. Vemperen's Other Heads - www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2226 Faces of Faerun - www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/429
That's not entirely true, you can counterspell any spell with any level of counterspell. But you reminded me of one thing: If you decide to counterspell a spell with a lower level counterspell, there is a hidden check that decides whether you succeed or fail.
I don't use any tattoo or makeup mods. All I used for this character was Vemperen's Other Heads or Faces of Faerun (can't remember which one) for her head preset, but that's it. Not really. He's immune and resistant to your main damage types and on top of that he also has the Greater Wyrm's Scales passive feature with reduces any incoming damage by 4. This passive feature also makes it so that our summons are pretty useless and Melf's Acid Arrow won't deal enough damage. In theory you could still kill him by buying a bunch of disintegrate scrolls, but that wouldn't be a build related kill.
This guy with 1% hit chance - Proceeds to hit absolutely everything
Me 99% with advantage = Miss 🙃
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be
What a mastermind. Your narration was very entertaining too

Thanks, I will never understand how people can play with a messy inventory, it would drive me crazy. :)
Bro, solo honor mode as a wizard - you are so cool! Love the videos! Hope to see more soon!
Amazing, wonderful content :)
Thank you
Amazing! I am stealing a lot of your strategies for my Spore Druid Solo run.

Final battle will be cancel your invisibility immediately in patch 6

That's still the case, which is also the reason why you see me use the normal ghouls less and less the further I progressed in this run.

I’ve heard a bunch of mixed opinions about how good/bad necromancer is- what do you think? Like in comparison to maybe evocation wizard or sorc

About counterspell if enemy cast 5 level spell for example, you have to use at least 5 level counterspell.
That's not entirely true, you can counterspell any spell with any level of counterspell. But you reminded me of one thing: If you decide to counterspell a spell with a lower level counterspell, there is a hidden check that decides whether you succeed or fail.
I have a silly question, how do you get your character portrait to have a grey background? Is it a mod or a settings option ?
It's grey because I'm a drow, that's all.
What tattoo and makeup mods??
I don't use any tattoo or makeup mods. All I used for this character was Vemperen's Other Heads or Faces of Faerun (can't remember which one) for her head preset, but that's it.
