I don't have any of the substrates you mention affordably. I am reaching 120 - 125 degrees F each night in a shallow wood box in my garage. Turning it (carefully) inside out in the morning. I suspect I am on the right path. It is caking up.
Are these forest microorganisms as effective as EM commercially sold? do they avoid odour and greenhouse gases emmisions in the decomposition? thanks man for the great material, i am picking up some ideas from the videos...
If some of the imo3 has green/dark looking mycelium is that now bad? Temps were around 110 all the way. Bits of white but 5 days in I'm starting to see green...
Hey man... I made JMS. I've put in a bucket a bag with active charcoal for a fish tank filters, with some coarse grinded eggshells and leftovers from a brewed tea, in another bag one potato and in third bag some Black Fly larvae frass.I also added about one table spoon of molasses. I brewed it with waterstone for oxygen for 48 hrs until thick foam was created. Now 5 days later the fluid smells like sea water (I didn't put any salt in it). Do you think that is ok, to smell like sea water...more like sea water stones...the ones with holes in it?
Chris are the amount of inputs based on the amount of dry product or the amount of water? I use pine flakes (very dry and absorbent) with wheat bran so I need about twice the amount of water that you are using.
In the first week, are you adding more cover material after every turn?

Could you just use the imo 2 in a liquid on your plants and in soil?
