My sciatic has been killing me lately I did the floor stretch and it stoped the pain immediately. I ended up taking an hour nap in that position. You guys are amazing!
I was suffering from low back pain while aiming to sleep at night. I like to sleep on my side and this was throwing my hips out of alignment. This lumbar pain guideline, BackPainRelief9.blogspot.com that I`ve recently discovered has made wonderful things to my situation. Because of this guideline, gone are the sleepless nights because of my back pain..
My youtube history begins with Arnold posing in pumping iron, it continues with AthleanX doing tips on posture, then full on BroScience videos, finally videos of Ronnie Coleman and Dorian Yates doing reps...immediately after comes Bob & Brad videos doing decompression. God bless Bob & Brad.
My husband has been fighting a bad back for weeks, after seeing your video he did the countertop stretch and got immediate relief. thank you guys so much :) 100% true
Just a helpful tip, if you slowly exhale while stretching, it involuntarily causes your muscles to relax and allows you to get that deep decompression! This helped me a lot learning to relax while stretching.
My back feels stiff and very painful. I had been searching for several remedies and also tried them all but did not find any great results. On the other hand, this back problems guide called 4BackPainExercise.blogspot.com have been the best. It`s very comfortable. You should try this particular guide book too! .
I was shopping for a while one time and I was feeling the need for a stretch, so I hooked my heel onto the bottom rack on my shopping cart and managed to lean back into a stretch and got a wicked pop out of my hip and low back. It worked!
You boys aren't just whistling Dixie... This video was exactly the message I needed tonight. The exercise where you pull your knee in and then isometrically push out with the knee told me right where the Crux of the problem was for me. This is going to finally get the inflamation out of there I'm sure of it. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your training videos. I have a pinched sciatic nerve due to a bulging disc between L4 and L5 and your videos have been a great help to me. Thank you.
Great video not enough people know of spinal decompression so much back pain sufferers will benefit from this there are also other ways to decompress good job
I've been doing something like these exercises to open my spine. So glad to see and know how to do it properly. I remember about 20 years ago, advertising about hanging you upside down to open and straighten the back.
Bob & Brad Thank you for all that i was able to learn from you both :) i have both cervical and lumbar disc degeneration that bulges out every once in a while. Much less than the early years of course. You guys contributed to some of my education on managing it while keeping surgery at bay. Stay blessed!
Bob & Brad are great guys. 🤗🏥 funny and easy going but at once very well prepared and educated in these health topics. I'm doing the exercises they suggest for my herniated disc I've had for years, and finally I'm getting good results and relief so far ,thanks to them. They're so cool. Like if you agree
Thank you guys so much for your videos. In my 30's and having lower back issues along with numbness in my arms related to neck issues. Dr suspects AS as I have euvitis as well (tests negative but you know how that goes) lots of stretching and lost 35lbs in 2020. Your suggestions have really helped eleviate a lot of pain. Thank you
Hello from Scotland, your videos really helped me, I herniated my disc in August, still causing pain but a lot better thanks for all the videos, they really helped me 👍👍

Has anyone heard the Sklar brothers? These are the Sklar Dad’s lol! They’re funny! I’ve always felt near comatose during a physical therapy session😳 I want these two!
Give some posture improvement tips for IT guys, so that they don't hurt their back, shoulder and other body parts while seating on a chair for 8 hr × 5days in a week
Hi Bob&Brad, I love when you teach us what the best stretches and exercises we must do, not hurting our bodies, I make exercise, not regularly as I'd wished, since I was young and I've discovered with you I wouldn't have done some of them, now I'm more grown up and have to take much more care of my body. Thank you and loves 😘
I would love it if you did a "ask the occupational therapist" question and answer episodes! I need your advice receiving two different surgical opinions from two surgeons about my cervical spine. One says I need a 4 level decompression and fusion immediately and the other says I can be conservative and proactive non surgically. As a nurse I always say "friends don't let friend get fusions" I have been in OT/PT twice weekly for two years , mostly manual therapy.
Great tips, I want to start incorporating some decompression techniques into my lifestyle on an ongoing basis because I just found out recently I have lumbar disc degeneration so I'm hoping some decompression techniques will help open up the areas a bit of the discs that are not good and I'm hoping to rehydrate them through some supplements and drinking a lot of water.
As the DCA for Vertecore Technologies, I'm a huge fan of non-surgical decompression. That's we help patients achieve! For someone with a prolapsed disc or stenosis, I find it takes approximately 1/2 of their body weight for effective distraction and relief of nerve root compression of the lumbar spine. For resorption of the nucleus the duration would also need to be for approximately 30 minutes 2 x daily, and then reduced to twenty minute maintenance doses once the patient is pain free. Decompression while staying active is best, as it increases the diffusion of water and nutrients into desiccated IVD's, and we all know that sustained compression results in a loss of water and disc height. Btw, that was extended puppy yoga pose, a therapist did not come up with that pose it's been around for a very long time; just as Robin McKenzie didn't discover the cobra or sphinx pose. I love that hanging stretch where you grab a bar or anything thats above your head and just let you hips and belly drop to decompress the back. I once walked by a construction site and used the scaffolding cross bars to do the stretch while people walked by looking at me like I was a mental patient.
When I hang from a door, I hang with all my body weight and relax my entire body, bend my knees and rest my toes and focus on the lumbar. If done correctly, after about 8 seconds the facet joint will pop and give instant relief. 🙌🏽
Wow. All I can say is wow. Thank you for giving this information for sharing on UA-cam! I will be able to sleep tonight. With disbelief I am in relief! Best chiropractors on the internet!
You can do all these at the gym, I figured these moves on my own. Hanging off the pull up bar felt good for my lower back and holding yourself up before dips also relieves pain
Thanks so much for these tips. I had, coincidentally, just laid down to try to decompress my spine & saw your video pop up. Will try your suggestions. Blessings to you, both.
When I bend over, legs straight, my back pops and I can feel it lengthening. I'm 5'2" with a long torso and short legs, so it's easy for me to touch the floor, nearly palms-down! Haha. Didn't realize this is so good for me, so I'll do it more often. Like Brad, I contend with lumbar stenosis and your other videos on that are very helpful! Thanks for all you do. I bought the infrared heating pad you recommend and keep it in the back of my favorite chair. That reminds me, I need to get that Pro-roller cylinder pillow you recommend for stenosis.
Thanks for the videos- a huge help-I have watched so many of them. About a year ago I fell in my home on a slippy floor and it resulted in reopening a childhood tear I had in my hip/ thigh area, Anyway a few months of physical therapy and I was feeling good. Fast forward to this week I was Spring cleaning, lifting boxes and deep cleaning. My lower back felt sore after lifting a box so I thought I should rest a day and I took a Tylenol (I can't take pain meds very well) Yesterday I lifted my 9 pound dog onto the, bed something I do every day and night- but half way up this spasm overcame me. I was literally brought to my knees but somehow got onto the bed and stayed there until my room mate arrived. After a while, I managed to roll over on my side and get up All day I have had spasms if I moved or coughed but I heard it's bad to stay frozen in place. By night time I had alternated with heat and cold all day. I had gotten up and forced myself to shower and walk around my apartment and to sit and then to start the process over again. Last night I couldn't sleep.I finally realized I had Ativan from a procedure that I never took. I had one and fell asleep for 7 hours which was amazing. I woke up and had turned to my right and ouchhhhhh the spasm cramped up my entire side. I wondered what I should do, How long does this generally last. If maybe you have had this happen.I'd love to hear from anyone right now about how they coped.I just feel overwhelmed.
lie down flat on a grassy hill or slope backwards, lift shoulders slightly to let your back stretch away from your hips. breathe & relax & let the stretch increase over a few minutes, meditate while you're at it & imagine your back lengthening. does similar to a inversion table
Personlly, at the end of a work day,(I teach) I like to lay on my back and let my upper body hang off the edge of my bed. I hang there a minute or two and I can hear the pop of the area between my shoulders stretch out . It feels great . I have also done this over an exercise ball.
You two really are the best physiotherapist I have ever “met”! You videos are helping me a lot with my aches and pains, THANK YOU SO MUCH! - I have recently been diagnosed with osteoporosis. In addition to medication, I would like to halt its progression with specific exercise moves, can you suggest the best ones and which to avoid, please?
I tried this and ended up with my kitchen cabinets on top of my while I laid on the floor with more back problems than I started with. I give this 4 out of 5 stars.
This is very helpful!! Thanks! I'm short (5 ft) so what works for me is gripping the top of the refrigerator. I'll be trying the one with the yoga strap over the door. The kitchen counter is too high for me to make that position work - unless I stand on a stool (maybe. I'll try that.) Can't do the one between the chairs - my arms are not strong enough. (I'm a 73 yr old female). But I'll try the others. I was diagnosed with foraminal stenosis with arthritis. I also like the one on the floor. (In yoga, it's "child's pose", I believe).
The kneeling posture isn't an "invention" by modern man, but a posture learned by ancient Asian Indian Yogis while observing animals stretch and move. This "child's pose" is even more effective when the hands grasp the sides of the yoga/exercise mat to push forward while the hips actively draw back. Thanks for all of your suggestions!
Holy Cow, it worked, I had a buldge in my neck and the C6/C7 area and then I hung on a strap I have at work and I felt it go away. You guys are awesome, thank you so much
I've been suffering lower back pain for months, and was unable to find a comfortable position for sleeping. Totally exhausting. I thought I'd tried all the exercises, but I hadn't tried a simple spine stretch. Just tried it this evening - lying on my back on a soft single bed, sideways, with head dangling over the side, legs dropping over the opposite side. It was completely comfortable, and I dozed off within seconds. When I woke up I felt no pain at all. I am back to normal!! [Let's hope it lasts].
Omg I found you when I need it you the most! 😭I am gonna try it right now, I have been with back pain every night for a week to the point that I am afraid of going to sleep:(
I've never said this. I've watched all your videos and I fixed my bulging discs without surgery. Sciatica still mildly exists but I'm fixing my lifestyle and my posture
This is one do on occasion. Another i do is sit on a chair. Hook both feet under (not on legs of chair), and lift my body up in a similar manner to the counter top one. Just relax legs and back while pushing up on with arms. Feels good on lower back.
Good idea, already have eye hooks in the carport overhead runners I can hang myself, as Dad use to say when he had a similar device in the cellar to stretch his neck. My arms go to sleep just using the typing pad, I've got problems with my spine from an old auto accident, so I'm game to try this exercise for sure.
HI Bob and Brad, I suffer from Hypermobility Joint Syndrome and have had leg pain all my life. I had a back injury 27 years ago when I was three months pregnant. I was told I herniated a disk and I am now 65 with L3 L4 L5 shot and facet joints arthritic, and I go through RNA every 9 months for pain relief. Along with all this I have serve neuropathy in both legs. Pool therapy with decompression was awesome. My question is if I do the one that Brad did on the floor, I have two TKR (L '98 R'04), is it ok on a mat to kneel on my knees? They are older and I have had my recent X-rays and are doing relatively good. Also, my hips are hurting me now also. Dr said R is coming from my back, the L is arthritic. Don't want to help one area and irritate the other. Thank you for such great information I go to bed and wake up in pain every single day. I have learned over the years you have to be a participant with your doctor in your own treatment plan.
My sciatic has been killing me lately I did the floor stretch and it stoped the pain immediately. I ended up taking an hour nap in that position. You guys are amazing!

Omg I found you when I need it you the most! 😭I am gonna try it right now, I have been with back pain every night for a week to the point that I am afraid of going to sleep:(
Why do I have feeling I'm watching 80's TV show?
Cuz we grew up in the 80s, as young adults.
I've never said this. I've watched all your videos and I fixed my bulging discs without surgery. Sciatica still mildly exists but I'm fixing my lifestyle and my posture
Great stretches! The 3rd one is my favourite, I often do it on the corner of my kitchen counter, it's such a great stretch!
Keep up the good work doing the stretches!
This is one do on occasion. Another i do is sit on a chair. Hook both feet under (not on legs of chair), and lift my body up in a similar manner to the counter top one. Just relax legs and back while pushing up on with arms. Feels good on lower back.
@@popenieafantome9527 That is a nice one too!
You guys are amazing. Thank you so much for doing these videos. Helping a lot of folks in pain
I love you guys. So funny. I always try to keep up with these tips.
Lol i feel like these guys can host a game show one day. They have the look and voices
Thank you :) maybe that will be our next career after youtube!
Wow. Just simple stuff. Thanks guys.
I have learned over the years you have to be a participant with your doctor in your own treatment plan.
i love your videos thank u so much ❤️❤️💕💕💕 help with my back pain
