"Reliability" in a Mercedes, Audi or BMW is known as a "factory defect" by their service departments.

Exactly, the NX350h and I mean the hybrid maxed out to the max with options is the best even over the RX350h. The fly in the ointment is the Toyota Venza Limited maxed out with all options and she is a sleeper. It's Made in Japan, which makes them hard to get. I consider it a luxury Toyota and it is an SUV.,

  • @your_royal_highness
    @your_royal_highness 6 місяців тому

Well, here’s the deal: I made the mistake of making the first impulse purchase of my life. In December 2022 I bought a new NX350 F Sport. The tech on the thing is complex but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty darn good. The bad news is the car is not that much fun to drive. It has a distinct front wheel drive bias. It is noisy…yes a Lexus that is not so quiet. Road noise, engine noise, wind noise. It is surprisingly slow, particularly off the line. It is not that much fun to be in and it is cramped. It is larger than a subcompact suv, but not by that much. The F Sport seats turned out to not be that comfortable. I rectified the situation by dumping it a month ago and getting an end of year 2023 SQ5. The tech is NOT as good as the Lexus but it is such an amazingly pleasurable car to drive. If you plan to keep a car for 100k miles or more, then sure, go get an Acura or Lexus (but not an Infiniti). As our guy here says, life is too short to drive boring cars and to me, too many of these Japanese luxury cars are pretty boring to drive. I know there are a few sedans like the Lexus 500 models that might be cool, but I wanted an suv that was a blend of luxury and performance. The GV70 is pretty good alternative , but I have heard the dealer service is not all that great. I will look at them again once they spin off the brand from Hyundai. I might lease a Stelvio next time. Back in 2018 I could have leased one for a lot less than other SUV’s but I was not too impressed with the interior. The 4 cylinder was a hoot to drive. I just saw some end of year new Quads for 20k off. Porsche is also possible, but I have pretty much decided not to get one. I might really splurge and get an SQ8, but that might be too much. I can always fantasize I suppose!

I have a 2011 BMW X3 (also) and at least I think I'm a little more safe if an (at least) 500 kg moose suddenly dives out of the woods in front of me.
Till now I have had only one serious hit (and one very close to a hit by the motorcycle... very good protection, yes... 🥺). At least once, when three mooses were on the inside of the fence, they understood to keep on the right side of white marked line in the dark. Luckily my speed was quite low.
After some incidents you learn that you may get unexpected company that you can't neglect on the "empty" roads.
There are situations when a little bigger car can make a difference, but the speed is also a factor not to forget. Maybe you think you can see them in advance... On some roads the branches of the spruces reach almost to the tarmac of the road!
A little bit unsafe... Of course it is, not even a little bit.
Alongside big roads in the southern part of Sweden there are mostly fences. So the government is not indifferent!

It's not exactly that way, for instance in a BMW there is a certain tolerance that I don't have in my mind.
It would not surprise me if BMW people drive more than 2 mm in the thread depth between front and rear.
From about 2018 front wheel drive is almost always disconnected!
Then you can use an app to disconnect the front wheel drive.
Then if the oil in the transfer case is getting too hot, the connection is disrupted to the front axle.
We shouldn't underestimate the cleverness of the BMW ingenieurs... 😉

@@ECPPI won’t call NX as a luxury. It’s not even from the real luxury no matter the performance or interior. Yeah it’s cost effective and that’s all.

Yes X3 gets the Plusses very well Car = Europeans saying the new X3 is one of the best cars on the market.
PORSCHE Macan S supercar - very well done - typical car for more intelligent people like Professors - Lawyers - Doctors
Not for idiots from AMG without exhaust Muffler, - I own Mercedes Cars for all my life - today I can say I am an idiot.
2016 I ordered Macan Diesel - after a couple of weeks of exploded scandal VW emission problems _ I never get my Macan Diesel.
After that, I purchased MB GLS350d - the worst build car in the world.
VW - AUDI - PORSCHE 3L V6 The Best Diesel on the World - 500.000.00 Km for Timing Chaine replacement not as Mercedes after 100.000.00 Km.

................. Hmmmmmmmmmmm/ comment on " more intelligent people like Professors - Lawyers - Doctors" when it comes to vehicles Very few of the aforementioned know much but rather Lease ( very stupid, and Never own anything) the simply dump your aforementioned Nightmares in three years and move on @ 6K per month...Oh Well! If you VALUE your money and purchase a vehicle IN cash, Plan on keeping RARE said vehicle because it is going up in value....You Might consider the LEXUS 450h+ " F " Sport......I too have owned all the vehicles you mentioned....Hmmm I had a Macan...operative word "HAD" enough said!....Although reliable Diesel...anything FUEL is VERY costly many cases more than Premium.....& your re-Sale may indeed suffer. @jaguar7051 You are funny and honest on cede's I too massaged my ego only in regret!
