A funny story to share,my Dearest Uncle passed away recently (that’s not the funny part),and he was Welsh.
Bevan Smith.
Now,despite my Hispanic Surname,I actually grew up in Italian culture.
Poor Bevan,he had to approach my Sicilian Grandfather,Giuseppe Montalto,a very stern man.
He had to sit before him and ask for his blessing to marry his oldest daughter.
A Welshman!!
And my grandfather,he said,”Well,at least you’re a Catholic,so,all right then.”
Ha!
My father,aPuertorican man, ohh,he didn’t have it as easy!
On my parents’ wedding day,Giuseppe said to my mom,”It’s not too late to change your mind.”
😂
Anyway, seeing that Roman bath reminds me.
I stink.
I need to bathe.
It’s been 3 days😫
So sorry to hear about your uncle Charles! ❤️ Giuseppe sounds like he loved his daughters very much!! Haha go have yourself a Roman Bath 😂
I'm a farmer up near Caernarfon. Part of the Roman road from Segontium goes through my land and can be seen raised in the fields. One bonus of being a detecting farmer is that i know most of the farmers that own the land that this road runs through to the point of Caerhun, this makes it easier to approach the landowners to get permissions. Keep up the good work. Really enjoy your video's 🙂
Hi Ladies !!
Excited to watch what you find in beautiful Wales. 🌼🥰
Thanks Karyn!! Hope you enjoy the video 😍🥰❤️
@@RomanFound It was excellent, as always. Really enjoy the tours, y’all do a great job with them !! 💛
Great information! Thank you. I was brought up in North Wales (now Australia). I was well aware of the many castles and medieval history but knew very little of the Roman occupation of Wales. This video has ignited my interest and I will explore, when I visit next. Thanks again.
You are both amazing young ladies, I am so happy you are getting the opportunity to travel to these beautiful places! I can hear the excitement in your voices, and I to feel the excitement and joy of yours.
The museum was something extraordinary to see all of those beautiful old artifacts was awesome 😎 I am looking forward to your next video as you travel to splendid places ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
I have a great suggestion for you both! Have you heard of Let’s Go with the Johnsons? Well they live there in Wales and they use to go mudlarking everywhere! Now they are traveling and taking us with them 😊😊 it’s fascinating to see all of the places they go. They share the history of architecture and the stories behind it all. I definitely love it and them! Check them out on UA-cam. See you soon 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Thank you Susan!! We feel so incredibly lucky to be able to share these wonderful historic places with you guys!! A true honour and such a joy!! The museum was a real gem! And I’m so glad we visited, the objects really helped to reveal more about the Romans who were living here! ❤️ I’ve not heard of them! Will try and find their channel! Sounds amazing!! Thanks again for watching our adventures! 🥰🙌
thanx for your roman tour. i'm in portland, oregon & knew little abt. the romans in gb until i discovered time team a few yrs. ago. watched every episode & then stumbled on mud larking videos, then metal detecting videos. i love how much you've all taught me abt. your country & the romans. i loved the glass tear catcher too. so small & delicate. how do they survive!
Glad you enjoyed the Roman tour Teresa! The tear catcher was so gorgeous! It really is incredible how something like that survives thousands of years!! 😮
Love the museum and the child’s foot imprint. We do that today on fresh sidewalk cement. I love this kind of humanity connections. We are them and they are us. Also at the museum… I so wanted you to unfurl the newspaper and reveal the Maltese Falcon. 😁😁😁💕🇨🇦
The child’s footprint was incredible! Love how traditions stay alive through thousands of years! 🙌 the temptation to unwrap the newspaper was 👀👀
Really Really great Ladies ✌️✌️love all your videos 🔥🔥cheers 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Thanks for watching along Greg!! We appreciate all the kind words and support!! 😍❤️🙌
Being a new sub, this is the 1st time you hear from me. I've been getting truly stuck into some of the other material, about 30 videos so far, and have been kept captivated all the way. I'd be interested to hear about your experiences with the time team, if of course you were with them.
I do have a question, when you come across glass, how can you tell, without any doubt, that you've got roman?
A personal tip for Lucy, be careful where you sit, you trousers look juicy... Hehehe
I really like the pace of the videos, and the freedom from worldly troubles while watching them.
Take care ladies. TTFN.
Welcome Graham! Thanks for leaving a comment! 🙌 Glad you’ve been enjoying all our content!! I think you might have spotted Ellie’s Time Team Merch! Just huge fans and we’d love to meet them one day! 😍 Roman Glass can be identified by the colour but we’re yet to find any on our permissions, we’re always on the hunt for it though! We appreciate the lovely feedback thank you!! 🙏❤️
Really good! I enjoy your knowledge and enthusiasm so much!
Great video! The Roman road from Segontium in Caernarfon to Caerhun goes through my land. Always enjoy detecting along it on my own land and many of the neighbours land.
Thank you Mark! That’s incredible! I bet you’ve had some amazing Roman Finds off there! We really enjoyed our time in your neck of the woods! ❤️
Girls great video but you missed so much in prestatyn. 3 Hil forts a house a Roman well and a Roman church all just outside prestatyn
I havn't been to Wales since I was a kid on family holidays. We can't have been too far away from some of the places you visit in Part 1, but I don't remember the landscape looking that dramatic. Fantastic. I loved seeing the settings for each site, thanks for taking the time to keep in the clips of the approaches and high streets!
We can't wait for Part 2!
It was our first time visiting some of these places and we we’re also blown away!! The landscape was so wild along the coast line! Hahah our thinking was it might help people find them easier if they wanted to try and visit them too 😂 as we struggled! More so in part two!! ❤️
Would love to go to Wales one day. Keep up the good work! 🙂
It was beyond our expectations! At the end of day two we emerged changed people from the welsh wilderness! Hope you get to experience it one day too 🙏 thank you! 🥰
Great episode. Can't wait for part 2
Can’t wait to share! It’s going to be next level! 👀
Greetings from the wild side of Lincolnshire (Grimsby). I have to say yours is my go-to detectorist site. It offers so much more than the others. Loving the history info etc and the newsletter. Great stuff!

Thanks Anne! Can’t wait to share the next part of the adventure! 🙌🥰
Great road trip video! Thanks fore sharing :)
Thanks to watching Jon! 🙌❤️
Hi ladies, very interesting video, so much history unearthed, look forward to the second installment. I used to go to North Wales for holidays and no matter where you go the scenery is outstanding, but I never got to Anglesey, it looks fantastic
Thank you Kim 🙌 We love discovering all these Roman Ruins! They really are hidden in the most fascinating of places glad we could show you the Roman Side of North Wales! 🤓
So interesting ❤
We certainly learnt a lot visiting all these amazing places! 🙏❤️
From ydna markers I've learned my ancestor left Cumbria for Ireland about 100 ad, likely escaping Romans.
Really enjoyed this tour and how cool was it that you got to go down in those archives? Looking forward to the next episode. 💛
It was incredible seeing the behind the scenes in the archives those newspaper wrappings!! 😮 glad you’re enjoying the tour we can’t wait to share the next episode! 🙌🤓
Very good video guys if you ever do a roman tour off exeter and southwest give me a shout
Thanks Rob!! That would be awesome!! 🙌
Very cool to travel with you both this afternoon. Lovely towns and great history, especially the tear catching vase - really interesting legend and endearing as well. Looking forward to part 2.
Glad you enjoyed coming along for the adventure! We had a lot of fun filming this one 🤓 it’s amazing what legends there are from these ancient times! 🤟
Nice video
✌
❤️
My grandmother came from Prestatyn.
Have you been able to visit? We loved visiting the area!!
@@RomanFound Not yet (I'm Canadian) I'll be in South Wales in a couple of months but I long to visit the North.
Try get up there if you can!! We need to do south wales 😂
@@RomanFound I'm singing there with Welshmen. If you claim Welsh heritage, it is mandatory that you be a singer. Like the proverbial Spartan baby, you'd better be good !
I go past that mcdonalds on the way to work
Hahah amazing! 😂 We certainly needed it!
