Another Wales dweller here.... I disagree with the other opinion... but I _also_ agree with some of it. It really IS great - but is also criminally neglected by UK tourists. It also IS great for a visit... *but* is also lovely to live in - unless you regularly have to travel from North-South (or vice versa) The plus side is, if you're visiting and getting from A to B.....ASAP, isn't a priority, you then have the delightful West Coast scenic route to 'endure' at your leisure!
I'm a Londoner living in mid wales and I am still in awe of the beauty and dramatic scenery that is wales.

Ask for directions with those pronunciations and you're likely to end up right back in England 😂.

The music was annoying. Photography was good but I was not sure what I was looking at because there were no titles.
Unless I fell asleep Swansea our 2nd city was not even mentioned, nor the Gower, Mumbles: St David's in Pembroke is named because of our Patron Saint and is gorgeous and worth a mention a the smallest city. The Gorgeous little University town of Lampeter is always omitted. The University i designed around the Oxford Uni Quadrangles if I am not mistaken and is worth seeing.

Swansea was mentioned briefly in the first couple of minutes. Strangely and little know though Swansea is not the second city of Wales but the third. Brecon is the first city of Wales and has been so since time immemorial (ie before 1179), then Cardiff was made a city and is now the capital city, then Swansea, then St. David’s ;”(later than most people realise in 1994), then Newport, then St. Asaph and lastly Wrexham. Always handy info for a pub quiz!
The museum at S Fagan’s is the Museum of Welsh Life, not Cardiff museum

Very good photography, but a shame about the misspelling and pronunciations ... too beautiful a country to do this disservice.
I wholly agree. I'm in the U.S., and looking forward to a trip the the UK, in late spring or early fall. This is a lovely presentation, visually. However, the names of the venues that are featured should be fully spelled, and superimposed on the screen. "Cardiff," is the only one that I understood, and had any hope of pronouncing. The lady who did the narration, sounds to be from the US, or Canada. It's impossible to know if the pronunciations were accurate.
@@catylynch7909 When you go to the UK, make sure you include a trip to Wales. It is an amazing country and my partner (who is British) and I have just moved back to Wales. Love it, love it!

It still informs people that would never have known it was there so they can go visit most people can’t pronounce Welsh names get over it

I much prefer Abertawe (Swansea) and the adjacent Gwyr (Gower), the first place in the UK to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. I'd certainly rather be there than Caerdydd (Cardiff).
Aberdyfi (Aberdovey) would be no.2 on my list.
No visit to Wales can be complete without a tour of the Rhondda.
Perhaps North Wales and South Wales should be treated separately. There is an invisible border between North and South Wales, it is not shown on any map, but the locals know which side they're on. Apart from Wales, I've lived in Tasmania, which also has an unmarked border between North and South 😅.

Well produced video spoilt like so many now by irritating and repetitive 'music soundtrack'.
The fact that there are no subtitles and all pronounciations are absolutely butchered, made it almost impossible to find the places mentioned in the video 😅😂
Thanks for watching. We uploaded subtitles with correct spellings for each place mentioned, unfortunately UA-cam has chosen to use auto-generated subtitles from the audio track instead.
As for the pronunciation, we will be re-doing this video with a different narrator later this year. I'm sure you're aware Welsh names are difficult to get correct for non-Welsh natives.
