Target Training My Corn Snake - The Early Stages

Here I document a "training session" with my corn snake. This is around the sixth or seventh session I've done with her (by training session I mean I present her with a target before feeding). While there is still a bit of hesitation, it seems she is already at the stage where she will more-or-less follow the target, which I think is great.
The next steps will be to get her to follow the target for longer distances (I was recently able to get her to move across her entire terrarium, which was pretty good), and then follow the target outside of her enclosure.

They can definitely be trained! And yes, although they perceive the world very differently from us, they are smart in their own way.

I've only seen 1 other do target training videos and I have yet to try it myself. Nice video. She is so pretty! Love how quickly they take in smaller food. Yes, she wanted more!! haha

thanks! it's quite fun, if you want to try target training I recommend the videos by Lori Torrini here on UA-cam - she provides detailed instructions. I now give my corn snake 2 pinkies per training session as this allows for more repetition and I feel bad if I only give her a small snack
