The C5 Z06 is the GOAT. Well, not really, but it's at least legendary. Powerful, light, well balanced, and the FRC body style even looks exotic from certain angles. Wish you were still producing new content!
Explain how you got a 67 mustang down to 2870lbs. I have a 680hp fuel injected 438windsor 68 mustang street car pump gas stripped with fiberglass cowl hood and i am at 3080lbs
I think it is more than impressive he could hang with the Zo6....I would have bet the zo6 would have blown the doors off the mustang. The fact he was within sight( until the spin) is a win
they added 600lbs to the z06 and it still killed it. Take that weight out of the car and its a slaughter. Didn't you see the beginning of the video why they added the extra weight?
This is a pretty unfair comparison. The C5-Z06 is a phenomenal vehicle when equipped with a driver. Comparing it to a car 35 years older is borderline ridiculous. But I enjoyed watching the laps at Barber. Great track!
Thanks, we had a blast, and really with all the work done to the 1967 mustang it's every bit a match for the Z06, it just needed to rev 1000 RPM higher, and have about 20 more HP. Hopefully next time we get these two together it'll be closer. -Russ
The mustang is totally rebuilt with a watts link and coilovers, the Z06 is stock other than the steering wheel, shift knob, and the 13.4/13.0in brakes from the C6 Z51 package. -Russ
