    The Reek and Chubb trades killed the Dolphins rebuild. $50M and 6 draft picks could have built a team, not 2 players.

    That’s why you don’t pay a mediocre QB like he’s an elite QB. The market is the market but you have to place yourself i. The right category! Tua was never in the category of elite QBs! That wasn’t his market!

    Bottom line: Tua's an ok qb. Like, he's fine. Maybe slightly above average. The team could win with him if they had a solid power running game and a top 5-10 defense. But drafting him at 5th overall was and is a fireable offense. He's more like a 3rd round type prospect.

    no one has ever argued Tua is Mahomes or Brady or Josh Allen... it is criminally negligent on Grier to fail repeatedly with a decent O-Line to give McDaniel a run game and the QB time to throw developing WR routes. Everything has to be done immediately or with shifts and counters to hesitate defenders, rather than just block them.

    • @mactownsend2890
      @mactownsend2890 21 день тому +4

      Tua is guilty too. He chooses not to slide. It's one thing to get hurt when it's unavoidable. It's another when you run and take on tacklers. How dumb can you be to not slide or run out of bounds when you know you are fragile and need to be available to your team? He's not a rookie. 5 years in you know you're availability is paramount.

When people are saying a QB needs good weather or to play for a dome team you already know the QB is not good., You want to be the highest player on the team and the face of the franchise Then you accept the blame.

    At this point, winning or losing for better draft positioning isnt really an option. It wont affect the draft spot that much, so they might as well win at this point. That san fran win was like beating the patriots in 2018. That win cost us about 5 draft spots when we were a bad team and they were tearing it down anyway. Alot if fans were ecstatic about that game. It was a meaningless game. Either way, i hope the media starts teporting in the papers about Ross and Grier and their failures. Ross needs to feel some heat and he needs to look like the guy that has caused many of the problems. Iget the media doesn't want to be blackballed by Ross, but do your job in the papers

    Even Huntley has a higher ceiling than Tua. He has better legs, better awareness, a better arm and he's not prone to injury. I'm working on a UA-cam video that clearly shows Tua"s hundred plus bonehead plays, the under throws the sailing passes, fumbles and deer in traffic disasters. I'll be as respectful as I can. Tua is all hype with very little natural ability and anyone who says differently doesn't know quarterbacks, and dink and dunk stats have no place here. To hear you say Huntly had limitations was shocking, when it's Tua that has the limitations

    If you think this play represents an elite NFL QB.. you don't know what an elite NFL quarterback is.. and if after you understand that the Dolphins current offensive system was designed to bring the best out of Tua and this is the result we get, and you're still advocating for him to lead the Dolphins as our franchise quarterback.. then I'm asking for your resignation as a Miami Dolphins fan,media member because I'm sick of the mediocrity and the support that mediocrity gets from our fan base and it's media that reports on it. Tyler Huntley was selected to the Pro Bowl as a waaaaay-down-the-line alternate after the 2022 season. In that season, he started four games, had a 2-2 record and a passer rating of 77.2. So the Pro Bowl thing? Yeah, no. And, as we explained on the podcast, he was a good backup for Lamar Jackson because he's similar in style as a dual threat and that's clearly not the case with Miami.

    There are good qbs to be drafted in the 2-4 rounds. They'll just need time to develop. Fortunately, the Dolphins have a decent starter in Tua, which can buy the franchise they'll need i order to develop said qb. That's what a smart franchise would do. Unfortunately, the Dolphins have proven that it's not a smart franchise, and they'll likely be running it back with a coach and gm whom are in 'job-saving' mode. I feel like they are making too big of a deal on Tuas contract. Given what Wilkens got on the market. Or what a decent free agent CB. The difference between a $50M QB and a $30M QB just takes away one good role player. This team is more that one player away from SB. Its on the GM to get more than what we are getting.

    McDaniel's gimmicky offense is more suitable to a 7 on 7 league than it is to the NFL. Grier has no vision and no balls. His only concern is playing nice in the sandbox and impressing Ross with bright/shiny objects. The franchise needs a facelift. But we all know Ross is too scared to bring in real football people. So, as fans, we're fuct, and doomed to be routing for a soft mediocre team until he lets go of the franchise. Sad but true, unfortunately.

    We’ll never win the Super Bowl like this. We need real changes Chris Sims for GM. Let’s get a good QB come on.

    The Dolphins are clearly going to lose this game. It's just a question of how. Then Denver will lose next weekend, and we will have to watch Cincinnati get the playoff spot the Dolphins should have had.

    The hardest part of making the playoffs for the Dolphins is winning our last 2 games. Everything else is going to go our way.
