Erin is the most truly gifted student I have ever had. A heart of gold, a genius mind, and actions that are already changing the world! So proud!
I believe you and I really hope she'll succeed. But can you please try to get her to stop talking in vocal fry? Erin sounds like Britney Spears with a brain. That can't be good 😁
Erin, you amaze me. My friend here told me I had to listen to this. She told me she was at your TED talk and that what you had to say was phenomenal. Your heart is so beautiful. Never stop searching and making this world a better place my friend 💖
Erin, you give me hope that one day- with smart and dedicated people like yourself- we will find a cure for PD.
I went to school with her since elementary, and she is amazing! She's super smart and nice and I knew that she was going places! Much power to her.
Hey buddy is there any way to reach her?? I really have some opportunities to discuss
Wonderful connection - I have Parkinson’s and have had masking for years before I was diagnosed. My pastor thought I was mad as he viewed me during his preaching as I would always scowl
Intelligence and kindness ... what a combination ! . The process is amazing ... this young woman is totally outstanding . Refined talent .

umm, Wow! Erin Smith is one of those amazing human beings that us normal people are only occasionally able to cross paths with. Thanks for being you Erin!
Thank you. I recognized changes in my smile and my nostrils long before my PD diagnosis. The corners of my mouth drooped lower. My smile was lopsided. When I sniffed, only my right nostril responded. The left nostril did not move. I dread the day when I no longer have facial expressions. I applaud your work at such a young age. Keep going! We need you!
How is it now
@@georgeefilms2625 The same, but thank you for asking. I'm on Sinemet which helps with tremors but not the facial paralysis.
@@shannonhathaway4293 Damn can you still walk and everything fine
@@georgeefilms2625 I can so far! I'm a fighter!
@@shannonhathaway4293 Best of luck with it
Oh my goodness!!! You're in HS? Simply incredible and inspiring. Keep up the good work!
Thank you young lady. 👍👏👏👏🙏
Wow! Just watched this…..thank you so much for putting your time and energy into this research at such a young age….most teenagers are just concerned with themselves and what party to attend next…you care about others and want to assist others who are at risk….thank you so much..
My father has Parkinson's and I recall my mother saying recently she was taking a picture of my Father , where asked him to smile, and he was unable. It has been hard to watch my father slowly decline.
High School? Young lady I think you can skip high school and go straight to a university and post graduate work, Bravo!
I am so happy to have watched your talk. So impressed by what you are doing. You are amazing.
Beautiful kind heart and determined intelligence Erin! I wish you a long, non corruptible and wise life that will open you to the true causes of modern diseases and bring you in addition to valuable knowledge of profound millennial medical traditions on earth that to this day amaze me for not needing digital diagnostic tools. The combination with your heart and talent could be amazing!
I wish you also the wisdom to see how technological innovations in the wrong hands could be disastrous. 🙏🏽
Wow! So impressive & forward thinking. This is awesome!!!
Thanks for this, god bless you from Scotland 💙💙💙

This is the best TED Show ever. I loved Lié To Me also.
Go Erin! You’re such an inspiration! :)
This is an incredible talk, and an incredible person 😍
Thank you so much. The capability of the intact human to shed light and solve problems is all the reason I need to continue to outgrow the limits I accepted from my difficult childhood.
Thank you Erin! I was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s at age 58. Surely devastating news. That, along with Severe arthritis prohibits me from being able to perform many physical tasks and therapies.
Thank you for your tireless, provocative and ingenious studies and research that are opening new doors for us. God bless you!
Parkinson's indicates unresolved rejection, massive amounts of abandonment, rejection and hope deferred. I read a book called"A more excellent way" by Henry Wright.
@@motelman6036 ok
Merci
Motel Man - Thank you for the book recommendation.
So humble !
Amazing
She’ll get into a top college😃👍🏻
WOW!
So I actually modeled for a while when the face masking began. I decided to quit over this very thing. It was just to challenging to strike a natural look. As a redhead we are proven to be 900% more likely to develop the disease and esp to aquire early onset. Thank you for your research. This helped things click. You are a brilliant kid. Keep going! 🙌
Really incredible young lady 💝🙌
I was diagnosed with parkinson's and im only 51. My dad had it and his dad had it. I am on carbadopa levodopa and it helps but i still get symptoms. I have tremors and shuffling. I also have neuropathy and adhd
if you can try cannabis.... its really life changing for the tremors
My dad was just diagnosed with PD this last year but he’s probably had indicators for years (for 3 years his doctor said his tremors were just from medication side effects). Anyways this is fascinating because I’ve noticed he’s had an awkward smile for at least a decade and that was probably a sign. He also has a resting face that looks nothing like it did when he was younger.
I know i look like i have an angry face alot or anxious face. I dont smile much either do to my Parkinson's or my depression, anxiety
Good talk.
Where can I keep following your work? The Built by Girls website doesn't work.
Is this kid for real, I have a 21 year old and she is doing laps boy, Na you ain’t ever catching up. But come learn about what dad has lol. So good to see a woman stand with full confidence with no sign of arrogance like as if it’s natural. Cause it is. Just wow!! We need someone like you with nothing to do for 20 years to clean up maybe 2 things in this country with all your fancy talk.
Is there any treatment available or medicines to cure ths?
Does yr face expression indicate parkinsons if so how can it help that person please let me know cause my doctor told me about my expression
Parkinson disease is a very terrible illness, my Dad suffered from it for 19 years until we finally got a help and a medicine that truly works that helped treat, cure and reversed all his symptoms•••My Dad is completely okay and healthy now/
Hi, very interesting presentation. I've been diagnosed with Parkinsons in Aug 2018. Can I correspond with you via email

No. That is a kooky take. I read a book by Carl Sagan.
You should try the bible, that's a load of old bollocks too.
May be.
@@world-of-susan. C’mon Susan. This guy is a charlatan who peddles this same bizarre narrative to all ailments. Parkinson’s is not caused by rejection and abandonment. Nothing is caused by those things other than feelings of rejection and abandonment
