Hiking / Frenchman Coulee Rim / Another Day -- Another Piece of Petrified Wood

- We hiked the rim of Echo Basin in Frenchman Coulee, where sometimes a trail exists, other times it disappears leaving the hiker to bushwack through stunning columnar basalt formations, along formidable drop-offs plunging into the gorge. Our destination was an abandoned mine where we explored and admired colorful pieces of opalized petrified wood.
The coulee is a rare and beautiful place, and it really SHOULD BE turned into a STATE PARK or NATIONAL MONUMENT.

Amazing!
The Flat mesa were scourged ground
Water was moving Fast there
Wow, not for one who may suffer from vertigo!! Yikes!! Fine away from the edge. lol Some pretty amazing pieces of petrified wood for sure! All that sand looks out of place even...amazing!! Have a wonderful weekend!
That's funny you should say that, because my wife pretty much said the same thing about this video and some of the other Frenchman Coulee videos I made in the past. We're very cautious and aware, and probably are safe, but I feel somewhat paranoid that close to the edge. Thanks for the comment!

I will compare a River to a Water Jet CNC for Cutting Steel water sand .

TELLS
1. River signs at the falls will have be concave by a lot of, Rocks, Sand, Water, Weight and Pressure . The Rocks are broken off into different shapes as they bounce off other rocks is called percussion marks, when those rocks hit enough rocks they become Round.
Look at any dry river bed
Concave lip
2. Look at that same Niagara picture notice under the lip there is an Undercut & A washed out area under the Lip, it may be under a concave or mild curve or Straight area. You May see hallow sand stone balls these balls may line up in different layer zones. The Direction of Flow hollowed out side of the bloop balls.
Keep in Mind it was all liquid sand with air trapped in Sand.
3. Another Niagara comparison
See the Boulders an an angle of 40 to 45
Degrees full of boulders.
Now keep this in mind look at the mountains. Do you see the same pile of rocks on and under the undercut Now you know witch way the Water FLOWED
4. Look to the top of those mountains any Round Rocks on Top on the Top no mater how large or Small .

Did you hear about the law being passed to prevent rock climbers from leaving permanent hardware?
