Ancient Lakes Hike / A Desert Oasis
The Ancient Lakes of Washington State are a striking geological wonder, located near Quincy in the heart of the state's Channeled Scablands. These unique features were carved during the Ice Age floods, when massive torrents of water reshaped the basaltic landscape. Nestled in a dramatic coulee surrounded by towering cliffs, the lakes shimmer like turquoise jewels against the stark, rugged terrain.

The three great elemental sounds in nature are the sound of rain, the sound of wind in a primeval wood, and the sound of outer ocean on a beach. I have heard them all, and of the three elemental voices, that of ocean is the most awesome, beautiful and varied. - Henry Beston SUBSCRIBE: Mike Carpenter Michael Carpenter / Filmmaker - carpentermichael.com UA-cam www.youtube.com/@MikeCarpenter-Adven...
Historic SORRENTO HOTEL in Downtown Seattle - Is It HAUNTED?
Переглядів 13321 день тому
Is it really haunted? The hotel is said to be haunted by Alice B. Toklas, the partner of Gertrude Stein and inventor of the weed brownie. Some say she can be seen in the halls, especially around room 408, and that she can curse lights and drinks. The Hotel Sorrento in Seattle, Washington has a rich history, including its opening in 1909, its Italian Renaissance style architecture, and its assoc...

Re-explored tunnel 13 near the McNary Dam. The tunnel is rough hewn, but has a personality all its own. Fallen rocks from the ceiling look like head-busters, and they always make me nervous. I don’t know the railroad that ran thru Tunnel 13, it might have been the Walla Walla & Columbia River Railroad. Possibly built in the late 1800s. The area around the tunnel has spectacular views of the Col...

The Blue Mountains are a range of fairly modest peaks located in the southeast corner of Washington State. Rockaway needs a seawall. Someday, it will all be washed away, until it reaches Hwy. 101. Then ODOT will probably build a seawall.

That North Bank RR line along the Columbia that's now BNSF was built as the Spokane Portland and Seattle Railway. This track had to be raised to a new line above the Dam and along the reservoir behind it until it's hooks back into the original line.

If hauntings were real, we'd hear about them all the time in places like Auschwitz, Dachau, Vaught and so many other places of mass murder around the world.. There has not been one single case of a haunting in any of those places, so until then, I'll remain extremely skeptical

The whole area was a government secret. They didn't want anyone knowing things they shouldn't. There are signs at other area museums that are from the 40s and say don't talk about work basically to anyone. The homes and grocery stores literally everything in handford and richland were government owned. I've lived in the area for a while the history is interesting.

For the Twin Rocks, I had a Mavic Air 2 -- which I lost flying over a river about 6 weeks ago. It was a sickening feeling watching it hit a limb and drop into the rapids like a brick -- there went $800. Since then I bought a DJI Mini 4K, Drone with 4K UHD Camera. It takes up less room in my pack, seems to be more wind resistant, and the video is still the same. Hope that helps.
