    I'm a driver. I can sympathize with the stress of that type of situation. I've been in some tight spots myself. Your brain is fucked for the rest of the day. You feel like the whole world is watching and judging you. I commend the driver for remaining composed and doing his best.

      Is it? If you don't have the space, you don't have the space. You may have to hang back and wait a long time, but sooner or later either traffic will see what's going on and make room or there'll be a gap. You may get the finger a time or two, or some horn, but that's much better than getting into a pickle like this where one wrong move may cost you your job. Credit where it's due, buddy did a hell of a job getting out of that jam and I applaud him for it. BUT, I bet you in the future, he'll wait as long as he has to in order to make sure this doesn't happen again.

    This happened to me once in the Bronx. My GPS told me to get off the highway at the wrong exit, and the fun immediately began. And for extra spice and excitement, I was in a commercial area. I almost took out a street lamp making a left turn. I had to get out and put my tandems all the way up in order to make the turn. Folks, DO NOT EVER use Co-Pilot as your trucking GPS. Nothing but garbage. I can't tell you how many times it has put me in stressful situations.

      Funny you mention that, because I remember truckers talking to me in a bookstore about how, in Iraq, they were told to deliver an envelope put into an empty 55 foot trailer, 100 miles in a hostile zone full of IEDs. (Private contractor truckdrivers.)
      It was insane and a scandal, because the corporations was promised a cost + model, where the Gov' will compensate every service double - including lost of equipment and repairs. (That one envelope was considered a full haul.) Dangerous, unethical, yet paid well. The drivers that told me this quit immediately after the first tour contract was over.

    If you are driving for Western Express have semi truck GPS of your own. Once the directions are input into the company GPS, input it into your own semi truck GPS. Take a look at where you are going first. Click line by line please double check it on your GPS

    I don't know the urban parking rules in the USA. But in Halifax, NS, Canada the grey SUV would be getting a parking ticket. For being too close to the corner of the block.

    Take more space than you need when making a turn you can always give some back If he had done an oversized turn he would Have had All the room he needed. Or you knew guys that don't know what an oversized turn is. When your birds make the Turn Aim for the opposite corner Like you're trying to swing too Wide. Kind of like you're trying to drive up on the Sidewalk. Pull up as far as you can, Then crank your wheels hard the other way Backup a little bit , Then pull Forward I mean A little more like you're trying to make the turn, Crank your wheels hard the other way, Back up again, Do that 2 or 3 times and you can make a turn tighter than normal

    The driver may have not made the turn wide enough, but you can't blame him entirely for staying in the correct turning lane, because otherwise drivers will pass or whatever and one would need to be extra observant. But it made the turn harder.

Used a 60 dollar map and trucker gps with satellite view or a tablet Google satellite view... Before entering a city or a place that you ain't sure...

  • @louisstaten5030
    @louisstaten5030 Місяць тому

    It's not his/her fault! It's his,/her driver manager (DM) that inputted the direction into GPS. The driver follows the GPS. Western Express DM or training DM will send you into a residential area especially if they don't like you. This driver is going to get a 250.00 Dollar fine on his/her driver license but pray not against his/her CDL. but his/her DM will cover it up so that doesn't get into trouble
