3 of the top 4 are from the so called "weak" Pacific division. Oilers record since Nov 23rd is 14-4-1 (0.805 point percentage) but can't seem to make up any ground in the top three as Vegas and Los Angeles are both playing just as good. Tough division!

Now, they've hit a rough patch and are back to a middling 2 games above .500. Montreal's recent tear has dug the team out a massive hole but they'd have to continue that pace to even get to where Ottawa was (5 games above .500). It is no longer being goalied..it is starting to look like last year...if they are not scoring on the rush they aren't scoring..the power play has come down to earth..they are giving up TONS of odd man rushes and Markstrom can only do so much...need some more scoring depth..tatar..invisible...mercer..invisible. so to have them near the top is super generous.

Hopefully they can get everything firing on all cylinders again and shore up some of the defensive lapses that have been popping up far more often of late.
One of the most exciting aspects of this team is that it seems like when one of either offense, defense, or goaltending is having a rough game, the other 2 kick it into overdrive to make up for it and still get the win.
