I started using Oval-8 splints for trigger finger several years ago. Sometimes I lightly pad the proximal ring where it presses into the volar P1. I have found the Oval-8 to be the easiest, cheapest and most functional for trigger thumb!
Sometimes injuries can cause the range of motion to decrease. Hyperextension is not a functional range of motion! If it bothers you, I would talk to your doctor and they might recommend therapy to help regain motion
I use them all the time and find that my patients love them. Also very simple to fabricate something similar using aqua tube splinting material
Yessss! That’s awesome! I had an “a-ha!” moment earlier this year and was like, why don’t I use these?!? It helps so much.

Yes!!! Totally agree, love the tip for padding it - great idea! It works great, readily available, low profile design, patients love it.
Is compression bad for trigger thumb such as wearing compression gloves or wrapping the thumb?
Compression can be helpful in managing swelling! It needs to be very light, not like a squeeze, it should not be tight
My thumb finger cant hyperextension it use to but not any more need help
