  • This is a cab view of the JR Tsurumi Line, which runs along the eastern coastal area of Yokohama City.
The entire Tsurumi Line runs through a factory area.
It was originally built as a private railway, but in 1943 it was acquired by the government and incorporated into Japan National Railways (the predecessor of today's JR). This line ran through a factory town, so it was probably considered important to the country.
The Tsurumi Line still runs through the factory town, and even in this video, at first there are hardly any private houses. There is even a private house that doubles as a store in front of the station. This line was originally built for the purpose of transporting freight, and until about 50 years ago, it had the feel of an EMU passing through the freight cars parked in team tracks. Nowadays, freight transportation is entrusted to trucks, and freight cars are no longer kept at freight yards.
The Tsurumi Line consists of a 7km main line connecting Tsurumi Station and Ogimachi Station, and two short branch lines of just over 1km. This video includes a cab view from Ogimachi Station to Tsurumi Station. If you are interested, please look around Ogimachi Station on Google Earth. You should be able to see the scenery of the factory town.

I like this little local line. Not in any particular rush, but it'll get you there. Frequent stops and often passing trains going the other way. Very evidently a busier line than it looks. Thanks for sharing that bit of history of the line. It made the ride more enjoyable.

Thank you for your comment. The original role of this line was to transport industrial products produced at factories along the line. The siding for that purpose is now buried in weeds. I regret that I can't show you footage of when this line was in good shape, but its current appearance is also a piece of history.

I really enjoy your content. The train rides, I find, are quite relaxing. This was an interesting trip. I must say that the Enoshima line is my favorite. Great stuff once again. Much love from NYC!

Thank you for your continued support. The Tsurumi Line runs through a dry city, but I also like this atmosphere. Although there are no girls waving to the train.

I too enjoyed this particular train line view. It is interesting to see an industrial looking area. Makes you wonder if the riders are people who work there. It looks so much different from the more urban areas of Yokohama. Thank you for the video.

This route has fewer passengers, especially during daytime hours. Both the morning rush and the evening rush start early and end early. I guess that's factory time.

Why the clickety-clack of the wheels, looks like continuous rail?

    • @14ikesan12
      @14ikesan12  5 місяців тому

Japan's railways are converting rails into long rails in many places. The track is welded on site to form a single rail. Although this reduces the noise, it is still a nuisance for the fans.

Thanks for your comment. Please understand if my video offends you.
Japan's railways are currently in decline in many ways. The number of users continues to decrease, the number of trains running decreases, the service deteriorates, and weeds continue to grow on the tracks. It saddens many people. The railway company pretends not to know.
I think it is meaningful to record the current situation. Will Japan's railways be worse or slightly better in 10 years? I don't think we can expect much.
If there is anything that should be improved in terms of image quality, composition, etc., please give me advice. Even if I can't fix everything right away, I will improve it little by little.

@@14ikesan12 Your reason for showing the decline of Japan railways is very virtuous and I congratulate you for that. I am only responding to the video quality which can be caused by a poor video camera which shows bad color or contrast of image or stability of the image or age of the video imager chip. I have watched many videos of Japan train drivers view and many have very high quality video which I enjoy very much. The best to you and yours.

Thank you for your reply. It motivates me to continue working.
A thorny issue with modern railways is the use of Heat Absorbing Glass, an item that doesn't pose much of a problem to the naked eye, but has become the enemy of optical equipment (both video and still cameras). The image becomes blue-green.
This correction adds yellow and magenta, but the tone changes depending on the angle of the light, and I have not yet found the appropriate correction value. I feel sorry for myself. This problem will probably be overcome someday as cameras and application programs advance. It's still no good now.
      ↑That's it, excuses.
Just like in the world of computers, it would be good in the world of images to be able to laugh and remember, ``I used to worry about things like that.''
      I guess it will be.
Please continue to give me your good advice.@@ricksclick
