The WRC is the FIA World Rally Championship, a tough motorsport using rally cars on real roads around the world. Watch the best rally drivers battle on gravel and asphalt roads with mud, rain, dust, ice and heat! Watch high speed action as the rally drivers power slide and drift round narrow corners, go flat out over a big jump or through a watersplash, handbrake turn round a hairpin, survive a big moment, or have a massive crash! Rally requires maximum attack and careful tactics to become world rally champion.
Each rally has timed sections called special stages, on closed roads. Drivers complete these stages as quickly as possible. A co-driver reads pace notes that explain the hazards ahead. Rally drivers use the same rally car to travel to each stage on public roads, following normal traffic regulations. The crew which completes all the stages in the shortest time is the rally winner. Championship points are won using the same scoring system as Formula 1. The championship is administered by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body.
Over 30 countries have hosted WRC rallies. Rally Monte Carlo, Rally Argentina, Rally Finland, Rally Portugal, Tour de Corse on Corsica, France, Rally Sardegna on Sardinia, Italy, Safari Rally in Kenya, Acropolis Rally in Greece, Rally New Zealand, Rally Australia, Rally Japan, Rally GB, Rally Catalunya, Rallye Deutschland, Rally Mexico and many more.
Some of the world's greatest drivers have won the FIA World Rally Championship for Drivers, like Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist, Petter Solberg, Ott Tänak. The list of world rally champions includes many Finnish rally drivers like Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen, Ari Vatanen, Marcus Grönholm, Hannu Mikkola. French drivers have had success with Sébastien Ogier, and 9 times world champion Sébastien Loeb. Famous drivers from other motorsports have come to try rally driving like Ken Block from Rallycross, and Robert Kubica and Kimi Räikkönen from F1.
Car companies compete for the prestigious FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers awarded to the most successful WRC constructor. Winners include Citroen, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Peugeot. Ford have had success with the Ford Escort, Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta when the M-Sport team won in 2017.
The 1980's featured the iconic Group B rally cars like the Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16, MG Metro 6R4, Ford RS200 and Audi Quattro.
Japan dominated the 1990s with the Mitsubishi Lancer, Subaru Impreza, and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla. Toyota returned to the WRC in 2017 with the Toyota Yaris WRC, winning in 2018. Hyundai won in 2019 and 2020 with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Find out about the latest winners and champions at www.wrc.com - Спорт
I'm so grateful Jari-Matti is still in the sport, even if he isn't a driver anymore. Such a good character, always willing to have a chat and explain things in the most detailed way possible!
Legends don’t have to be Champions and this sport is full of both👏👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿
Latvala will always be one of my most favorite drivers. The way he describes events and races is fantastic.
Its a crime that these guys dont get more respect and money than the F1 drivers which operate in such a sterile and controlled environment going around the same circuit 60 times.
WRC drivers really are the best and most talented.
I want to know what camera mount he was using. Mine falls off the windscreen when I start the car.
Those cars (2009-2010) were the best looking ever
Jari-Matti. Such a cool guy and very very good driver 👍
For safety reason fia may locate a signal transmitter to driver at certain areas which involving first crash. Plus co pilots also can turn on the transmitter if their cars gettin slower/breakdown
Need more like this.
I remember this crash, it scared me as a child, lol
That's the ford focus WRC
Lucky and a fenomenal chassis.
I miss Latvala driving again.
Spectacular driver 👍
EXCELLENT AND EXPERIENCE WORK NASEEEEER QATAR DAKAAAAR RALLY .. QAAATAR AIIIIR WAYSSSS💙 . ❤️ . 💜 I HOPE YOU GET A GREAT WEEKEND . ❤️ . 💙 . 💜 .
Ford managed to get their logo in half way through the crash. Kudos.😀
I stopped watching rally for a while I just came back and this guy still hasnt stopped crashing 😂
I LIKE FIA WRC
thx
But where is that chassis now ? is it in running condition or scrapped ?
In the video (which you... watched?) they said they repaired it, it competed the next year (2010) where it won Finland, and now it's still in posession of M-Sport (presumably at their Cockermouth HQ) - waiting for an offer from Jari-Matti.
it was a ford focus RS..this car is not suitable to rallying anymore after rule changes...so it is just sitting in the factory waiting for jari
Malcolm still owns it, in showroom condition and has it kept in case Jari-Matti wants to buy it
🇵🇹🇵🇹
I am getting Netflix's Love, Death and Robots, Lucky 13 vibes.
JML❤️
the (2016 - Onwards) Ford FIESTA RS M-Sport WRC 4WD + 1.0 in. Lift 2.0 i-Turbo I4 5-Dr Rally Hatchback (RHD) was & still is a much better rally car than the Ford FOCUS R2 WRC 4WD + 1.0 in. Lift 2.0 i-Turbo I4 5-Dr Rally Hatchback (LHD)!!!
I'd beat Malcolm up on the price because I'm sure it has a salvage title!
How much of the actual crashed car raced again though? Like, the bulkhead and a bit of the floor?
The most important part, chassis. Everything else can be, and was rebuilt.
@@markos8400 What do you mean by chassis?
That`s what i was thinking, repaired? BS more like a re-shell then its not the original car 'triggers broom'
@@markmezo yeah, so a reshell, new roll cage, all the running gear, engine, transmission, doors, bonnet, lights, what does that leave? Some wiring? Surely it was less trouble to just start again with a new car? I’m genuinely interested in what they did, it would make for an interesting documentary in its own right. especially if they can save more of the car than you think.
@@4Kandlez The main frame on which the body, suspension, drivetrain etc get mounted on. The chassis has a SN which is used to "register" the car to enter a rally. So, as the same SN was there, it is the same rally car, yes, completely rebuilt, but "the same".
I always thought he was Colin McRae reincarnate. Similar hard-nosed driving style. Soo much Even my next recommended clip is for mcRae.

Arent you glad the rollcage
wasn't made by Boeing
HAHAAAA
Or by Lancia.
whatta waste of money.
time to go back to blind rallies.
Drive the road in front of you as Jimmy McRae used to say.
Me when i crash in Beamng
Click bait
@242turbo because of “2021” on the video title
@@ASFerreira it says 2009...
@@Francoberry No, it does say 2021
