This video will show you your problem and how to fix it. It applies only if your cars a/c compressor is turning on and the pipes by the compressor get cold but in the interior the car blow hot heater air. In this video we are working on a 2006 Nissan Sentra. But this issue happens on any brand in any car and the vent producing the issue is always in the same spot.
Hopefully this will help and if it does please subscribe

I can do this on a Acura TSX also
one way to fix this is to add a second wire to manually pull it back

Hi
Raine Brown What makes and model of vehicle do you have? Thanks
OMG I ves been looking for this for so long and the shop and mechanics couldn’t figure this out. Thank you so much. I will pray for you. God Bless You. How easy these mechanics rip you off. OMG.
dblo mvo Im glad it helped! help us back by subscribing
Garage Boys- I'm sitting in my car rite now trying to figure why my ac stopped blowing cold. Now only got air.. Will this work for a 97 Buick lesabre?? Got the ac going for the first time in 3yrs ran for about a month but stopped about a week ago
SOUTHWEST OUTLAW yes this will work but only if you are having this issue, sounds like your compressor stopped working, make sure your compressor turns on and the a/c pipes in the engine get cold
Garage Boys-- the pipes do get cold but it's not blowing out cold air. A.c. was blowing cold up until last week Tuesday.. thinking bout taking it to a shop today. Wat do u think?
Well if the compressor turns on, your pipes are cold and inside it blows hot air then your issue is most likely what I show in this video. The a/c actuator
Thanks! Easy to follow, simple instructions, and you kept it real! 😉
I'm starting to think UA-cam is smarter than my mechanic lmfao.
Haha!! For Real!!
Ain’t that the truth lol 😆
DEAD ASS!!!!😂
👌
For real, I’ve done all my own auto work using UA-cam lol I e saved tons of money
Just bought this old 2002 Nissan Sentra and it is doing the same thing. Thanks a bunch, here I am in 2021.
After months of no ac today I finally got it back thanks 🙏
Glad I could help! 😃
Thank you for your clear explanation. I am going to try this and I hope it works. I will be looking at your channel in the future.
Pleace and blessings to you!
Thank you so much man. I have been looking for this forever.

You saved me $200 dollars for something that took 2 minutes. Please keep videos coming.
Actually I'm the collector 😅😂jkn
Thank you this was the problem with my B2200 Mazda truck. AC WORKS NOW!!!
Glad to help a brother out
I fixed my nissan pulsar the same way but I found the problem that you tried to fix with wd40. It's like brakes on a bike both ends of the cover on the wire need to be in a special groove so it can work. The actual problem is not the lever it is at the other end it has just come out of the groove so the wire is not pulling the lever. Open the center console and look underneath the aircon hot cold lever and you will see the problem straight away. I did mine yesterday and now both hot and cold works perfectly. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
Any way you can show a video of your fix??
@@ksbear451 hey Heather sorry I won't be able to make a video for you as I have sold the car. It was a simple fix if you remove the aircon control levers and look at the back you will see the cables that join the lever to the vent and one side of the cable would have come off the track.
@@MrBlacky19853 VERY helpful, thanks
Good Video! It's a common problem on various cars that's hard to see and find if you don't know what you're looking for. Good lighting on the actuator and letting everyone see how it works and why it's not changing from heat to cold.
Thanks for the help! I just did this on my Nissan Sentra and it worked. I'm not sure how you figure this out, but good job!! 👍😁
Awesome! I’m glad I was able to help 😊 if you can help me back by subscribing and liking
I got the same problem in my Jeep, replaced that part 3x,,Thanks for this Video
Thanks, fixed my issue today. I did however take all the housing away from the radio & heater also & was able to fully diagnose why it wouldn't push. It's not being held in into the ring its supposed to anymore because the ring is plastic & has snapped. I tied a wire around the whole piece tying the line in & was able to get it fully functioning again.
Gr8...after watching this video ....I fixed my car A/c . Thanks and please upload more videos

@@GarageBoys absolutely. ..
Thank you brother.. simple and right to the point and good video
Very helpful, thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Works like a charm
Watched your video. Corrected the problem in under 5 minutes. Now I’m going to take apart the front panel and see why the cable is weak when pushing to cold position. If I fix it I’ll post the video
Did you fix ?
Thanks alot .worked very well for me.i have peugeot partner tepee and that tiny panel by the accelerater was padded with insulation.i found out traces of that small mechanism on it .i assume the insulation went out of shape due to hot climate so i removed it.plus few sprays of wd40 and it all went fine.
I’m glad you where able to get your a/c back. 😃
Thanks bro, I was having same problem , I also remove the cable string , now I have cool air ,. Flipper stuck in-between , will repair after summer ,. Thanks again
Glad I could help! Enjoy the cold air 😃
Excellent, had the same issues with my car popes the lower panel and was able to flip the vent flap by hand . Live in Florida and it’s been hot. Thank you for the info.
Year and make of your car?

Hey bro thank you so very very much this fixed my problem you just saved me hundred of dollars
Exactly what I needed! I manually flipped the white plastic piece to cold. The turn knob will pull it back to hot, but can't put it back to cold.
Interesting troubleshooting on the control mechanics, though for plastic lubrication, WD-40 isn't the best choice, as it can eventually soften and change the characteristics of some plastics. Lithium grease is a safer and more robust alternative, as it's not damaging to plastics and that it's a grease will also hold up longer to use and not drain or evaporate like WD-40 tends to do after a few weeks.
WD40 is not a lubricant its a solvent. WD stands for water displacement
People confuse this WD-40 is a cleaner like Brake Clean not a lubricant so it’ll wash all the grease and dirt away but won’t lubricate it.
Also won't hurt electronic
That is a great help many thanks
You could a second wire and tie the part that open and close so you could have the sufficient force to push it to close.
Gonna check mine tomorrow morning. I am moving to Arizona in 2 weeks... I NEED AC!.The other day it got to 118 degrees there!
Mennn, bought the ac can and my ac was full got a feeling this is the issue. Since i Clearly remember i put it in hot and it never got cold again. And a dumb mechanic was messing with that area of my car a month ago. Too bad hes 3 hours away luckily i found your video its summer and i just need cold rn🥵
Thanks for the video. My SE-R is doing the same thing. I will try this tomorrow. I don't know if this part can be disassembled, but if it can be, I will lubricate the inside with some lithium grease, and re-assemble.
Awesome! Let us know how it goes 😃
That did the trick. The blend door was in the heater position. I put in in the cool position and I now have A/C. My wife and dog thank you. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! More Sentra videos please. My SE-R thanks you.
I’m glad I was able to help 😃 if you can, help me back by liking and subscribing.
I have a 328i with that same issue.... now , thanks to you, I can try to figure out what to do. God bless
sell your car man nothing but trouble from every direction
@@robwells5753 😭😭😭😭
Either the cable is bad or the part where it connects to the rotary switch is bad. However, if you're not going to replace the needed parts, what I would do is take a thick rubber band or a small spring and attach it to that white plastic finger and attach a screw to the case to hold the other side of the spring or rubber band. That will put some mechanical force on the blend door in the cold position so it will close with very little effort from the cable.
That's a pretty good idea
Very helpful. Fixed the problem.
Glad to hear that
very helpful man.. thanks
I’m glad it help, if you can help us back by subscribing
I would put a spring to pull the lever back as you pull it back when you go back to cold and when you pull the lever the spring will pull it back to cold . Hope this helps you
Ima try this tomorrow on my mustang you might be a goat
Let us know how it goes!?
Very helpful , thanks

Garage Boys I want to leave it on cold what do i do?
-- Wonderful. I will be checking this on my 2007 Honda Civic in the morning. It's blowing hot air.
Did it work?
@@John-zp2jm -- I have not done this yet. But planning to do it very soon. I'll let you know what I find.

my car have same issue, and i solved it myself.
I’m glad I was able to help 😃
What is it called that your working on?? The part? Are you talking about the blend door actuator
My car also does pure hot air so I'm going to have to check this solution out, thanks
Let us know how it went
Theres a little slash on the white plastic its missing a little spring that keeps it on cold an when you turn to heater the wire pulls it to heat an when you move it to cold the spring pulls it back to cold. I hope that solves your problem God Bless
that’s how all their cars end up with flat tires🙄
Thanks very much, SOTL👍
awesome! ive got this same issue with my silverado. gonna try this.
Let us know how it goes!
The valve is stuck into the open position and might need replacing or it might just may have a lose vacuum line if it is vacuum controlled
You need to do what you did in the opposite location. take the housing off and adjust the clip that holds the wire at the hot/cold nob you're turning. It gets lose over time. Very common in Honda's and toyotas.
Chev Silverado ac does not cool
Thanks
An extension spring may be missing. This spring pulls the white plastic lever back from hot to cold position.
Excellent vid Thanx a heap!
Damnnn y’all kept that Sentra clean!!!👀
put a pull spring on the lever that pulls the lever back , that fixes it.
Has one already!
thanks so much man!!!! subscribed!!
Thx 4 subscribing!
Thanks man. It's works now 😌
The case is that the spring haven't suffisent force to return the lever, so I'll put another spring to help it - spring with lower force, one end on the lever and another end in somewhere behind it. I think this way to solve the problem, because to pull you have suffisent force to overload both springs but not to push the lever with the flexible cord.
Mine works thanks
thank you, sir. i’ve been without A/C For three months in the San Antonio, and I’m a Yankee. was fixin to DIE 🥵
What is the year and model of your car?
Ohhh hey John! That mustve been a big change. Im from ny myself took a trip to arkansas recently, HOT!! 😆
My 07 sentra SL is having this issue now. I wanna try this solution...

It works on most of the cars out there. What do you have?
Hey bro, first of all thank you!
My car (mitsubishi lancer 2010) have no such a heat lever.
Its probably move by electronic, cus it have no mechanical wire going out from the ac control and when im move the heat/cold circle its making a sound of movement only when the power switch is on.
Any suggestions where i can find the inner lever?
Excellent video I got the idea
Another thing to check thanks,
Great video bro!!!
I don't know for sure, but it kinda looks like it needs a return spring to help pull it back into position.
How do you put it into place?
It looks like there is a spring attached at the bottom of the white plastic piece that is meant to push the lever when you select cold air. I wonder if the spring is still connected to its anchor point (it’s too dark to see in the video), or if the spring has weakened over time and needs to be replaced…
Great video
Drill a hole through the bottom piece. Slide a dowel in and secure it to the a/c door, that's if you can get a good shot straight through to the to the switch.
Thank you for the info
Glad I was able to help
After you sprayed it with WD-40 you cleaned off all of the remaining lubrication. Spray that moving part with some Teflon-type dry lubricant, NOT an oil-based lube.
Exactly
Your problem is the cable has come away from the holding clip. It secures the outer cable. You need to view the complete cable. As you turn the knob the pressure to overcome the flap door causes the outer cable to move. If you secure the outer cable it has nowhere to go therefor the inner cable will do what it is suppose to.... move the flap correctly👍
Thank you very much. Quite helpful👍
Yes fixed my 09 Xterra , the whole dash had to come out just to change the blend door actuator !
Could you do a video like this for the same issue with a 2013 hyundai elantra? This has been racking my brain for weeks
Hey! I'm having the same issue with my Hyundai Elantra 2012!!
@@buuzy252 check the manual. It could be ac compressor
@@mef12727 thank you I fixed it 3 months ago it was the ac compressor right. Had to replace it for 140box
Very helpful
I just replaced that actuator blend door and fixed the heat but now ac is blowing hot, compressor is working. Do you think that actuator is already bad? or the actual door is broke, because i dont hear it clicking like it was
You are amazing!!!! You just help me out so much. #2020

im having the same problem with my car right now. they do not have actuators for my car though because its too old. i guess my mechanic will figure something out. i have had this problem with my car for quite a few years now and its time to fix it because its hot here in Texas.
It sure is, try looking for your parts on amazon
H-Town, here to? Having Compressor Hissing. Do you have a solution for vehicle ac hissing coming from compressor problems
So true. Some try to fix my ac stating it was low on gas then compressors was faulty. Actually my switch also was stuck on heat. Was having only hot air at a point. It was on a Kia Koup am still working on it.
Glad I could help 😃
What type pf care are you working on and what is the name of the part.
For a dodge caliber 2008, a/c or hot air, not coming thru vents, any ideas to fix it? Thanks btw great video
Is the blower turning on? (Blower is located behind glove compartment, basically a fan). If it’s turning on then air has to be going somewhere, maybe to the defrost? And if that’s the case this is your problem, the actuator
same car ,same issue , now is time to check !!!! thanks !!!
Let us know how it goes!!!!
yes it was . easy fix
I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima it's charged the clutch is working the fan works when I turn it on cold there's no air coming out on hot it blows hot air could you please tell me what I what I may check to get it working or what I need to replace if it needs to be replaced Thank you
I have a 2007 Subaru Forester and that is doing the samething that your talking about on what mine is doing
I know it has been 5 years but I have a 2007 Subaru outback blows hot on dash vent drivers side and cold everywhere else. Were you able to fix yours with an actuator and where was it?
Did u try a spring to pull it back?
My car started doing that today just blowing hot air thanks a lot I’m going to try today in afternoon. The lines are cold and has Freon It should be what you said.
Yes it is 👍🏻
Thanks a lot very easy to do now my air conditioner is working perfectly
Awesome! Glad to know I was able to help. If you can, help me back by liking and subscribing 😃
I have a 2002 Buick lesabre. Do you think it’s the actuator??
If you have this symptoms then yes
😮😮😮 wow i’m from Hawaii and here the repair for AC repair starts at $2,000.00 i am going to try this my self. You are an 😇😇 mahalo (thank you)
let us know how it went!
Try a spring to add tension to pull to the cold side
freealistar its funny but works i just jerk into the next lane to get it to work and my heat does the same im glad i seen this bc its funny when someones riding with me and i tell them its what i have to do to get the ac to work
Wild Bill ok cool well whatever works
Problem is cable become stretched it’ll work with a pull action but not push. I’d just leave it when you need heat not hard to pull the panels out just flick it over by hand little annoying but it work.
i wonder if this reason I hot air have coming out for Chevrolet Cavalier - its old, but i never took off any panels- but i guess i can check to see if there a mission nut or loose cable pulling nothing
It maybe missing a spring pulling the arm back to ac side. It looks like that wire isn't stiff enough to push the vent back by itself. Look below the arm to see if anything fell.
I know, 4 years later.
Make some videos on a 2003 nissian altma 2.5
Quick question. When you opened all the panels your white plastic switch was already pushed down. So how was it blowing hot air? If you say pulling the switch makes it hot and pushing it down makes it cold? Or did you already have it pushed down before?
I messed with it so I can show what to do
Its called the blend door. All cars are different with the undercover panels,so showing your panels is for your model only. If the blend door is broken you have to replace the door.
I caused mine to leak while changing the alternator a couple days ago. Same car. I detached the bracket on top and then went for the underside bolts, the bolt pulled the alternator forward pressing on the pipe, I heard a hiss and now it's warm...
What care are you working on and what is the name of the part.
well i have a 1999 gmc sierra,i run it with ac regularly, but today when i started truck in morning i trun ac on and it blows hot hot hot heater hot ,i already recharged the ac about a month ago ,so today it basically randomly started blowing hot,the alternator turns on and everything seems fine but it still blows hot,let me know if u have an idea of what could be the problem!!!
Check it it has Freon in the system, you may have a leak. If not then your issue is the actuator as shown in this video
