  • Inside a Cat 5 Hurricane, down to 200 ft. above Atlantic Ocean! Yes, you read that correctly. Insane ride on NOAA 43 (Miss Piggy) with AOC Hurricane Hunters based at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida. Nicknamed the "winning lottery ticket of all Hurricane Hunter flights".

    Thanks to these brave individuals lives are saved. As a South Floridian, I want to wish the hunters the best and be safe out there with Irma.

    Thankfully, there are those willing to do this kind of stuff and there are people like me who are willing to let them.

    and I remember when I was on flight school our instructors always saying "never fly into a storm, even if IFR Rated, do not fly into a storm if possible" and these lucky and balsy bastards are like "hurricane and 150Knot winds? let's fly right into it!!!"

      thunderstorm never,hurrican yes its way safer than a thunderstorm because hurricane winds are directional thunderstorm winds are all over.....up,left,down,up,right sheer violence

    the US Navy Hurricane Hunter's Atlantic Fleet has a annual reunion. As the Brave men and women are aging, they have decided that 2020 will be the final reunion. There was a film made called "A Lady Named Anna" by Disney productions in Puerto Rico in either 1961 or '62. None of the Hurricane Hunter menbers can locate this film. I would love to have assistance in locating it to present it to them. My father served with the Hurricane Hunters for 2 service terms.

      IMBD says Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, Season 9 Episode 12 was "Hurricane Hannah", and aired on 16 Dec 1962. There was a Hurricane Hannah in 1959, and reconnaissance aircraft began flying it on Sept 28.

    I would guess thier running thier engines very high throttle to avoid turbulence and downdrafts just pushing them into the ocean, the engines probally got over heated and stressed then and oil coolant line burst

  • @modelleg
    @modelleg 7 років тому +2

    Maybe the rough ocean surface aids the heat transfer from seawater to the air above.

    Sir, i respect that you have a phd... and, the waves in that hurricane you flew over might have had 30-40 ft waves.... i've personally witnessed 65-70...maybe 75 foot waves during a hurricane in atlantic aboard a sailboat, the hurricane passed far enough away for most violent weather to clear us, but the waves when they reached us, even 150 miles from the eye, were unbelievable. The winds where very high.. gusting 60knts. But the waves where very dangerous. Scary shit bro.

    they should make passenger airplane same as the hurricane airplane very strong this way it will be never a airplane crash due to anything. that's my plan to the airplanes manufacturer idea. build a passenger airplane strong and same material as this airplane. thanks for me to give you the idea misters airplanes manufacturer. no more airplane crash ever. safe and strong airplane will make us passenger feel safe and happy to be a board those airplanes.

      Mohammad Bazzi same with cruise ship. Less passengers & more safety! But more passengers equal more money, sad
