As an airline pilot, I can state that this, is truly righteous flying... one of the #1 flying jobs in the world. Science for the sake of improving data and saving lives on the ground, mixed with skilled flying; does not get any better.

Indeed. And the aircraft is a Lockheed-Martin WC-130J Hercules, which is a Lockheed-Martin C-130 equipped with weather equipment and special sensors that can detect information about storms that satellite imagery, storm modeling, and other technologies can't pick up. The Lockheed-Martin WC-130J Hercules is also designed to accomodate dropsondes, which are small capsules dropped out of the aircraft's belly to get wind direction, wind speed, barometric pressure, and temperature from flight level down to sea level.

Is there any advantage to using a prop plane versus a jet? Feel like jets overall create wayyy more thrust needed to navigate the winds
In order to maintain consistent airspeed against the constantly changing winds from the hurricane, the aircraft needs to rapidly adjust the thrust provided by the engines. Jet engines take a few seconds to spool up, but a constant-speed propeller with a variable-pitch prop can adjust thrust instantly.

3:32 They’re using Bose headsets!?
Bose is the supplier for noise canceling headsets for the us military. If you're on a military vehicle you will be wearing Bose headsets, and they are awesome. I was a .50 cal gunner in Iraq, when wearing those Bose I could barely hear M2 when firing but yet at the same time you could still hear conversations going on around you. Somehow it blocked out gunfire, explosions and other ear piercing noises but let other sounds through. It's a very weird experience seeing/feeling a IED explode near you without the sound of a explosion.
