Let’s be honest, we all know Ryan should’ve gotten a solo.
A solo of him singing about his problems and his major hat collection.
They just knew he would outshine everyone if he had a solo 😭

And Sharpay (though not as much as Ryan but everytime they are both onscreen makes it 10x more iconic)

Side note: we can appreciate how of a good couple they would be? Chad giving Ryan some encouraging and some adulation when he deserves it (The only ones that does that is his parents, NO ONE ELSE). And Ryan putting Chad's feet on the floor (shown during and in the end of the baseball game) and enjoying more than just being a jock (nothing bad on that but bro needs to chill of the constant training xd)
it’s literally only ryan’s mum that encourages him and even then she seems pretty distant. His dad clearly doesnt give one, you can see it with the ‘fix the hat’ stuff and encouraging him to play golf when he clearly isnt that bothered :C

Honestly, I always felt bad for Ryan. I do not think of Sharpay as a villain but she didn't treat Ryan very well. He wanted attention just as much as he did. He did everything she wanted and how does she thank him? I mean, in the end she realized how important he was to her. But Gabriella and Chad treated Ryan WAAY better than his own twin did. That says a lot too.
It is normal for siblings that are similar ages to be like that to each other though
She does grow up a lil to respect him tho, specially with the "I want it all" number. She makes the dumb mistake of trying to win attention in a solo with Troy at the end, but understands that everything failed because of her and not the show and choreography that Ryan made.

The moments between Gabriella and Ryan was so cute! Ryan is the best character of hsm
They had a lot of cute friendship moments in this movie. It’s a shame the only moments they have in HSM3 are when they’re talking in the auditorium (they’re mouthing words to each other), Ryan helping Gabriella with the movements for “I just wanna be with you” and of course at the end when Gabriella and Troy come back, he grabs her hand to bring her onstage, and hugs her at the reprise of “I Just Wanna Be with You”.

i can't be the only person that had absolutely no memory of that hawaiian themed song. When I first saw it a couple of weeks ago i had a jumpscare.

If I could change one thing about this movie it would be to add a duet between Gabriella and Ryan where she assures him that he is enough on his own while he grapples with the inner conflict of leaving his sister to do his own thing. Maybe she even helps him realize that he deserves to be respected and shows him his self worth. Clearly they hinted at this development in Ryan but I just wish they fleshed it out more. Also Gabriella and Ryan are two of my favorite characters and favorite singers so I’m definitely a bit biased but I still think it would’ve been a nice expansion on their friendship and for Ryan’s character development
