Dude...... Your giving away one of the best kept secrets! I freaking LOVE my GX470. I've had 3rd, 4th and 5th gen 4Runners. Each has its pluses over the others, but my all around favorite was the 4th gen. Now I have a GX470 and it is hands down the best! From the huge windows, to the side open hatch. Its checked all my boxes. Picked my 2003 up with 117k miles this year.
I agree! dont tell anyone about our secret! I bought my 04 GX 2 years ago for 10k with 86k miles, and it was a 1 owner dealer maintenance corporate car. I also own a 5th gen 4runner and i like my GX WAY more.
I wasn't looking for a GX but was desperate after searching through dozens of used cars. I'm a former 98 SR5 guy and wanted something close but newer. Found an 03 GX470 with a stack of maintenance and repair logs from the dealer, 2 owners never wrecked. Oil stick looked new but was original. Trans was clean and beautiful. Runs like a scalded dog. Frame is black and clean. Air lift bags, diff lock works perfect. I feel I was gifted from the heavens. Thankyou! It's like 4 wheeling in a Rolls Royce. Camping inside is comfortable. Thanks to youtube and guys like you, I can manage repairs myself in most cases.
For real tho 😂 my mom had a GX 470 when I was a kit for 370,000 mi & sold it only after the air suspension took a shit on her. It took me to soccer practice 9x per week & literally the only reason she sold it was the air suspension issues. If not, she’s still he driving it. Currently, it’s being wheeled hard somewhere in Cambodia 🇰🇭

GX Overland , Hi I’m interested in watching camping clips by using travel trailers towed by off road SUVs especially land cruiser , Lexus GX and Lexus Lx.
loved this video! I’m currently driving an old Lexus ES300 and have been looking into selling it and getting something more off-road capable and to overland it but didn’t wanna lose comfortability, it’s like this video read my mind lol. hope things go well with your church!
My story is similar. I had an RX 300 in the Jeep Wrangler TJ. I loved how fun the TJ was but loved how comfortable the RX was. I never had to wonder if it was going to start. Now, we can go off roading and camping in our Lexus while the kids can watch a video in their leather seats. 😂
GX Overland that’s awesome hahaha. I was going to get an older wrangler or an XJ but I didn’t wanna worry about reliability. thanks for these videos! got me motivated to work harder towards getting one
I just picked up a 460, and you summarized my exact thought process for why I chose it over a 4Runner. Even stock this thing is fantastic on rough forest roads. I think I'm going to keep mine stock for a while.. I'd really like to see what it's capable of with only a new set of shoes. Great video!
I bought my Gx 470 when my children were in middle school. The oldest has graduated from college and the youngest will graduate in 2 years and I STILL own my Tank!!! I have over 300k miles and I still take it to the dealership 😂😂 They always compliment how well we've taken care of it. So he's absolutely right!!!
I’m so impressed with the level of service I’m getting at the Lexus dealership. They don’t charge me any more than my mechanic and they loan me a brand new Lexus so I’m not stuck waiting there. However, if I do wait…it’s like waiting at a sports bar. They even serve breakfast, a good breakfast. Not just doughnuts. I’ve had Honda, Nissan, Toyota, ford, Chevy, jeep but no other dealerships treat you sooo well. It’s not close.
I took a gamble an bought an 03 GX470 off Copart auction unsight unseen at 166K. It got hit on right side, going to be replacing B pillar, Rocker panel and two doors. Amazingly the engine and transmission is smooth as a butter it’s nice I got to investigate its history before I won it through Lexus maintenance history website so I had an idea what I was getting. Using the truck more mainly for long trips and for Big Bear/Mammoth.
Couldnt agreee with you more buddy! That's why I picked up my 2011 land cruiser 200 series ..1 owner with pages worth of services from squeaky side mirrors too replacing shocks during the high mileage service at 1 dealership!
Subbed! Definitely want to get one for off roading. I used to have an 89 Cherokee and have always loved the idea of a 4-door off-roader that can actually tow! Love your channel and love Jesus!
I'm at the very beginning of considering the GX for a daily driver and occasional overland fun. I hope your videos are as good as this first one which answers a lot of the initial "Why the GX?" questions. Cheers!
@@TeslaOverland Thanks a lot for your encouragement. I've started to look at used GXs nearby, and haven't yet narrowed down a choice between the 460 and 470, so if you have any thoughts about that, fire away! Also, any advice on particular model years to seek out or avoid would be super helpful. TIA
@@TeslaOverland Well, it's not like 'money is no object'; but if there is value to be had, and the price is right, I could probably fit it in. I've done some searching for used vehicles and the 460s are much easier to find than the 470s in the used market.
Going up in value? Bought my GX with 120,000 for $10,500 three years ago, now hard to find one for under $13 to $15,000 in my area with few for sale. Mine is perfect white from a older lady who used it to haul her dog to the park. She had a VIP sticker from the dealer, serviced even the smallest of things there, and she traded mine for a new GX460 white. It was hard to tell the new ones from mine. I thought it was someone else’s new one when I tried to find it in the lot at the dealer. Mine is a 2004 purchased in 2017. Will hopefully get another if this one ever gets old. The only problem with the off-road features is that the car is way too nice to trash off-roading! Great in snow. Put it in four lock low and you will need to hit the gas to drive down a steep icy hill. Guzzling gas like crazy with the big V8, but I don’t drive much. Making life better for someone who likes the warmer climate!
UA-cam sent me here like the channel also the 4th gen 4Runner came in a v6 and a v8 only 4runner that came with one I have a 05 4wd 4runner and I love it best vehicle I ever own nice channel man keep it up
Yes!!! I picked up my GX470 after taking a family trip and realized that my wife’s 2017 Honda Civic was not going to cut it. So I started looking for a great used family trip/over landing vehicle. Looked at 3gen 4Runner, but my Toyota tech friend recommended the 4gen. Looking for a 4gens I stumbled upon the GX. Found one in Cali for $12,000 pick it up and drove it back to Nevada and enjoyed the whole trip back. I caught the over landing bug, and I’m already planning to pick a 2013 LX570 if we ever decide to grow our family.
I can see gx470's will appreciate in value in the future. Love my 08 GX. Keeping this 4ever. Im not into off-roading and love the air suspension smooth ride. Intend to keep it oem. Upgraded all lightings to HID and LED bulbs all around
The Gen 4 4Runner also has the 4.7L V-8 as an option. I agree that it slid under the radar. With your channel and the other channels starting to mod GX’s they are starting to blip the radar.
As someone who’s recently getting into overlanding, thank you for focusing your content on overlanding best practices. I think you can develop a presence as a UA-cam SME.
Subbed! Have a 05 ls430 and its been working great for camping but wanna take it to the next level and get a gx470 for overlanding! Thanks for making this!
Awesome!!! I love this intro video and yeap the GX is on my shortlist. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. This sold me, I subscribed and ready for more content
Aaron Rodriguez good for you! The dash damage is severe here in Texas. Missed out on another one today by literally minutes! Had a perfect dash, updated timing belt!! Ugh🙁 Still searching... I have a really nice V8 Sport Edition 4 Runner but it's not 4x4.
That "14 year old vehicle" is JUST now getting "broken in good"!!!! compared to everything else. I'm looking for a good one too. I want the EXTENDED TANK too- which fits in the spare tire well- gives 56 gallons capacity for 0ver 800 miles driving on ONE fillup. PLUS the hitch mounted RIGID tire swing, custom front bumperwith winch- and all that good stuff. I may never need it- but it's there if I do. THANKS-- GREAT VIDEO--
Hey! Just stumbled onto your channel. So awesome. Couldn't agree more. I have a 2006 gx470 with 90,000 miles and it's cherry. I just recently decided to make it an overlander as it's a second vehicle to me. Looking forward to the project.
Here in Australia, it's known as a Toyota Prado. You see them everywhere. Both my neighbours own one. I am a jeep man and have a KJ and a WJ. I think the WJ is more comfortable and drives better then the 2009 model I drove but I cannot argue with the drivetrain reliability.
Did some looking around and there are just a handful listed in all of Canada and at premium prices, I think the secret is out. Think I may be closing on a 4Runner this week though!
I have an 04GX and love it. Have it for 2yrs now and it has 210k miles 😂 Got it for $5000 with 180k miles and it drives like brand new! For 2yrs no repairs yet!!!
@@TeslaOverland thanks for the response. I don't have Facebook however have heard of the group. I was trying to see if there were any local GX470 events in the Southern California area. Recently went out to Azusa and I must say, the GX470 handled way past my expectations.
I am 💯 regarding your approach to this Vehicle. 💥bang for the buck!💥 You got a screaming deal. GX470 will be the next "Cult Overland Vehicle" imho. Keep the content coming and safe travels. 🍻 Cheers, G. in beautiful Boulder City Nv. USA 😁.
I've had my '04 GX for 14yrs now w/ 132k on the clock, paid $53k back then when it only had 19k miles.. Haven't had any real issues w/ it other than regular maintenance.. Only took it off pavement probably once to Grand Canyon/Sky Walk.. Glad to have found this channel & nice to know something like this even exists! Instantly sub'd..
Thanks for the advice. I have been shopping around for an 2003-2008. Only issue is the timing belt. I was under the assumption that after three changes the vehicle was done. You cleared that up.
I have bought 2 GX470s a 2004 back in July 2019 put about 15k miles on it and I blew that motor up (my fault). I loved it for that short time I had it. I decided to buy another one back in Jan of 2020 a 2009 with 130k at a JLR dealership it was a trade in, 1 owner my guess is a soccer mom tons make-up on sunvisor and back of steering wheel where it wasnt cleaned up. for $15K they wouldnt go down on price but i did have them replace the shocks I heard them leaking. so I guess it was a good deal. so far I have put 34K miles on it. its been great.
When I owned an FJ for 3 1/2 years I raced it, took it off roading, mudding, several deep water crossings(hurricane), it still ran like new. Got it at 100k and put 50k miles on it. Now I drive a 4runner and planning on getting a GX470 pretty soon. Toyota for life. Number 1 trucks. Number 1 reliability.
I have ( for now ) the new Jeep Cherokee trail hawk . At 30,000 miles the 9 speed transmission took a dumb and had to be replaced with a new one. Looking for a replacement and may have just found it on this channel
picked a 04 gx on January after watching your video(also a huge fan and owner of prado myself). Have already put 10k km in these covid 19 months and really love it. The only concern is the non-vvti engines are super weak at horsepower so I haven't upgrade the tires yet.
And man don't tell me about that 4.7 V8, being durable , daily driver, cool, with excellent offroad capabilities and finally tunable. 👌👍 Great inside man🙏
I’m selling my 4Runner to my son and buying either a 460 or a 470. I’m 77 and like my creature comforts! That’s brother and I’ll be praying for your church plant.
I've been having such a hard time finding a 4runner, v8, 4WD, with the 3rd row seats. I've really considered the GX470. The more I look it, the more it grows on me. Those TRD wheels definitely set it off!
Well, enough guys have done You Tube videos about how this is the perfect SUV so you can’t find a nice one in the NW without lots of searching. After 3 months of looking I found a “showroom new” white 2006 with 125 K. I had to pay $13K for it but there was nothing cheaper in that kind of rare condition. 2 owners and mostly dealer serviced. Almost $4000 last year scheduled and preventative maintenance. I don’t know what planet you guys are on finding these cars with low mileage on for under $9K. Blessings brother! Looking forward to more on your channel.
Subbed. Looking to get one of these next and I agree with everything you said. Its easier and cheaper to find these than it is to find a V8 4runner. Coming from a frontier, just need more passenger space.
Thank you for making this video. If you can tell by my name, I am a Toyota Tundra guy. LOOOOOVE em! It's my only vehicle, I need a second. I was thinking more of an economical second car. But...I found out about the Lexus GX 470's off-road prowess and affordability. I have a dilemma, I am now forced to confront. Hmm second car for economical reasons, or get a Lexus GX 470 while I can?? lol this channel makes that process more difficult, but fun. Thanks
Didn’t have much $, so I bought a 92 Ford Ranger new. This P.O.S truck tortured me for 15 years..I wasn’t smart enough to get rid of a “functioning” economical vehicle. Go for the GX. The gas will sting as bad as your Tundra though, if you commute. Hopefully the reliability will offset the gas costs. Will feel small compared to your Tundra, but the ride is much better. I have both the Tundra and a GX. They are like my kids...I like them in different ways, but love them the same.
Great work buddy. Thnx for sharing your profess thoughts based on your experience. As I'm a die-hard fan of older 4Runners and 4th gen V8 of it. Having said that, as I'm a Canadian and you can't buy Canada registered LC's nor Prado's here! US registered and import Toyota's are not my cup of tea and the Japanese imports are mostly turbo diesels and right handed.
Are you on any forums? What year is your GX? What have you had to do/perform in terms of maintenance? I'm sure you'll address my questions/concerns when you put out your mods video. Till then, I'll just have to wait. PS: Hopefully, you'll end up with a ton more subs from GX/4Runner/FJ owners alike. Or anyone really, looking to get into overlanding or ride the trails. PPS: Good luck with your channel, Church, and Family.
Kiss Kiss It is a 2005 sport model. As far as maintenance, changed out the front calipers to the GX 460 model. The 470 tends to seize. Then a lot of the normal stuff after that. Fluids, spark plugs, brake pads. For forums, check out GXOR on Facebook. Or on Reddit. It’s a great community and has chapters all across the world.
Thanks for providing content on the GX470! It is little challenging to find specific information on this vehicle. The one challenge is what kind of octane do you use to fill up your vehicle? I've read some people use premium and other regular. I can see somewhat of a justification for better gas mileage and less carbon buildup in the engine, but does it really matter for this vehicle? Again, thanks for providing a video series on this vehicle and your experience with it! Can't wait for more content in the future!
Planning to pick one of these up since I've had many Jeeps and now have a 2020 TRD Pro 4 Runner. Coronavirus has ruined my business so I can't afford my 4R. Subbed for ideas.
Looks like a great platform to start on, seeing it become more common. Southern style Offroads megalex is definitely proof they can be built up. They even have a few products for them. I’ve been watching lifestyle overland and I think they they picked up the 460. Can’t wait to see how you build yours.
Just bought one. 2007 with 130k miles. But has rear shock leaks and seems like burnt transmission oil. Still in the warranty period and thinking of returning but feeling pretty bleak coz I can’t think of any other car I want. Thoughts? Did you have any issues with the one you purchased?
Tons of these on the market around here. Was thinking of one before I settled on my Forester XT, as I commute a bit and need the gas mileage. If I ever get to where I can have a dedicated rig aside from a daily, I would love to explore the 470. There are a couple here that have off-road setups
Interesting vid. Very compelling case for the GX470. Just for fun I started browsing CarGurus and NOW, the GX470's within 200 miles of me are bringing about a $2000 premium from where they were when this vid was first published. Ouch. Back to Tundra shopping. :)
Finally! Haha this is what I been looking for! I just picked up my 08 yesterday, not sure on how I want to start customizing it. I just subd’ and looking forward to your videos 👍
Congrats on your purchase. I have an 09 GX! Runs like a beast. I was considering on customizing mine too. I just recently replaced my time belt and chain. (Kit). It cost me a $1000. But that’s normal because you have to change that every 60-90k miles. I just serviced all catalytic converters and that was a pain. It cost $4k with labor. In terms of customizing, why’d don’t you start off changing all the suspensions to a stage 3 kit. Buy a pair of nice rims from “fuel” along with off road tires. Change the running boards into a more aggressive black steel boards. Swap the old cold air intake into a stage 2 air intake for better hp and torque ($400). If you really have the money, get a brand new off road front steel bumper and rear off road bumper. I’ve seen custom bumpers where you can hang an extra pair of tires and store 2 fuel gallons which makes it more aggressive. Swap the old exhaust into a better one where you have better sound when you turn it on. I just purchased a Tesla navigation system and took off completely the old factory radio and gps. It cost me $500 but it’s a good investment. The A/C, heater, gps, radio, Bluetooth, etc comes all digitally. If your on a budget, 1.) tint the windows 30% all over, 2.) Install sun guards on the doors and sunroof, 3.) swap off the hood struts because their known to go bad. These are easy cheesy. If you need advice, let me know on what to recommend. I am starting this project too. It’ll be fun. VROOM VROOM#TeamLexusMafia#🔥👌🏼🖤
If God would have given apostle Paul a GX for one of his journeys, that would have been an interesting letter to read. Planting churches and overlanding go well together. Enjoy every moment pastor.

I have over 300k miles and I still take it to the dealership 😂😂 They always compliment how well we've taken care of it. So he's absolutely right!!!
The best!
Dude, you’re channel is built off of a great idea! Don’t go so long without making a video!! People are waiting for GX content 😎
Man. I need to get it in gear.
Awesome! The gxor community is really helpful but if I can help, reach out!
Couldnt agreee with you more buddy! That's why I picked up my 2011 land cruiser 200 series ..1 owner with pages worth of services from squeaky side mirrors too replacing shocks during the high mileage service at 1 dealership!
Yes! That’s exactly the kind of used car to get!
Shout out for your church brah!! 🤙Thx for the video! Clean ride, can't wait to see the next one!
Thx man!
Bro...you’ve got a great voice for narration. Keep these vids up!
Thx! I also have a great face for radio. 😂
Good choice brotha, the GX is very underrated. It’s basically a Land Cruiser in other countries.
Thx! I’m constantly impressed with how it handles.
It IS a Land Cruiser
Yep! Prado.
Subbed! Definitely want to get one for off roading. I used to have an 89 Cherokee and have always loved the idea of a 4-door off-roader that can actually tow! Love your channel and love Jesus!
Love it! I’m rooting you on!
GX Overland the fact that you take the time and respond to everyone's comments is incredible. You are awesome and I hope to meet you one day!
I have the same motor in my 2006 toyota tundra. Best motor I've ever had HANDS DOWN!!
Solid!
Appreciate the video, I am in limbo from switching from my Tacoma to a Defender 90 or GX470, glad I found this channel✌️🏁
Def Tacoma or gx. Defender long term reliability is terrible. But you see Toyota engines with a million miles often.
I'm at the very beginning of considering the GX for a daily driver and occasional overland fun. I hope your videos are as good as this first one which answers a lot of the initial "Why the GX?" questions. Cheers!
Right on. If you have questions or topics let me know and I'll do more follow up videos.
TIA
If you can afford it the 460s are really nice.
@@TeslaOverland Well, it's not like 'money is no object'; but if there is value to be had, and the price is right, I could probably fit it in. I've done some searching for used vehicles and the 460s are much easier to find than the 470s in the used market.
Thanks to you now everybody is going to look for a gx and drive the prices up...
Little ol me? ☺️😇
I love your videos thanks for putting something out there for the average person that dosen't have ten grand to spend on shocks.
Your welcome!
Totally agree. It’s crazy how much they are increasing in value lately.
Thank you! Always wondered why there wasn’t a channel focused on this. Glad I found you, subbed!
Thanks!
UA-cam sent me here like the channel also the 4th gen 4Runner came in a v6 and a v8 only 4runner that came with one I have a 05 4wd 4runner and I love it best vehicle I ever own nice channel man keep it up
Thx bro! Nothing but love for 4runners.
Love it. Are you on the gxor boards on fb or reddit?
GX Overland I’m on the Facebook page
I can see gx470's will appreciate in value in the future. Love my 08 GX. Keeping this 4ever. Im not into off-roading and love the air suspension smooth ride. Intend to keep it oem. Upgraded all lightings to HID and LED bulbs all around
For sure. Even if you keep it on the pavement, it’s an amazing vehicle all around. My only wish is that I got 30 miles to the gallon. :-)
The Gen 4 4Runner also has the 4.7L V-8 as an option. I agree that it slid under the radar. With your channel and the other channels starting to mod GX’s they are starting to blip the radar.
Yep. Those are rare and go for more than gx’s. Every gx is the v8. Base gx is loaded. What do you drive?
As someone who’s recently getting into overlanding, thank you for focusing your content on overlanding best practices. I think you can develop a presence as a UA-cam SME.
Thank you but I am far from an expert. Just making content that I wish someone had made for me. :-)
Subbed! Have a 05 ls430 and its been working great for camping but wanna take it to the next level and get a gx470 for overlanding! Thanks for making this!
Yes! 💪🏾💪🏾
Funny I’m just now looking at GX’s and your video comes up on my recommendations. Subscribed 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Narftastic Awesome! Hope it was helpful. Let me know if there are any topics that you want to know more about
The videos are there. You have to source TOYOTA PRADO videos & gear. They VERY common off-road in Australia, South Africa & The Middle East.
And all of Africa. Kenya has thousands of Prado going reliably off-road everyday.
Totally! They're gaining traction in the US!
Thinking of starting a GX channel as well. Just lifted mine!
Nice! Do it! HMU when do you do so I can keep up to speed.
How much did you pay to lift it?
Just bought 1 3days $5600 207k miles clean AF tho 😎
Awesome!!! I love this intro video and yeap the GX is on my shortlist. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos.
This sold me, I subscribed and ready for more content
Thank you!
Starting a church? Subbed! Going to test drive one today, prices in TX are rising fast!
Thank you! Yeah, it’s crazy how much the prices are rising.
I just bought mine last Tuesday!
Awesome! Way to go!
We kept both the Jeep and the GX - best of both worlds!
That’s a great call. In a perfect world I would love to have both as well.
THANKS-- GREAT VIDEO--
Right? Totally agree!
Looking forward to the content! I just picked up my gx470 and will be making content from Colorado!
Yes! Tag me when you make content. I'd love to check it out.
Got an 06 gx first owner 100k, only had to change rear air ride bags. Looking forward to your channel bro.
Nice! Congrats! Let me know if there’s certain topics you’d like me to cover.
Hey! Just stumbled onto your channel. So awesome. Couldn't agree more. I have a 2006 gx470 with 90,000 miles and it's cherry. I just recently decided to make it an overlander as it's a second vehicle to me. Looking forward to the project.
90k! That's just getting warmed up!
Subbed! Was obsessed with the Montero for years. Recently made the switch to upgrading to the GX. Keep the content coming!
Me too. Love my 2000 Montero. Hate to let it go but I needed more power. Now I love my 2006 gx470.
Bro, I just drove by a montero today and mentioned to my wife and I loved those. She said she loved them too.
Love both GX and LX
Truth.
Great video, thanks I just got a 2008 GX470 with 100,000 miles
Sweet! You get a good deal?
GX Overland $12k
Great snag!
Lots of love for Jeeps! I wish I could have a tj, cj, and one of the new Broncos. And throw in a cyber truck for good measure. 😍😍
Awesome video!! Can’t wait for the next one!!!
tae um thx man!
I am shopping used 4runners and just heard of the GX, that was a pretty convincing video, will see what’s available around here!
Do it! Although I do love the styling of the 4runner.
Did some looking around and there are just a handful listed in all of Canada and at premium prices, I think the secret is out. Think I may be closing on a 4Runner this week though!
Yea prices are def going up.
Very well presented and articulated!!!
Thanks man!
So glad I found your channel. I was looking at these for adventures and pulling a small travel trailer.
A buddy of mine has a GX and has his tent on the off-road trailer. He has no problem.
I have an 04GX and love it. Have it for 2yrs now and it has 210k miles 😂
Got it for $5000 with 180k miles and it drives like brand new! For 2yrs no repairs yet!!!
Yes! Such a great deal.
Damn, $5000 for for an 04? Where do you live? I just picked up an 04 with 213k for $9000.
Great video!!! Currently building my GX470. Good luck brother. Looking forward to the updates. I'm also in California.
Cristian F. Right on! Are you on gxor socal on Facebook?
@@TeslaOverland thanks for the response. I don't have Facebook however have heard of the group. I was trying to see if there were any local GX470 events in the Southern California area. Recently went out to Azusa and I must say, the GX470 handled way past my expectations.
2:50 is the shot of the year
😂 that whole area is epic.
Thanks for the info man, very helpful!
Prayers for your church, lean on the Lord, He is good
Thank you! And amen bro.
I am 💯 regarding your approach to this Vehicle.
💥bang for the buck!💥
You got a screaming deal. GX470 will be the next "Cult Overland Vehicle" imho. Keep the content coming and safe travels.
🍻 Cheers, G. in beautiful Boulder City Nv. USA 😁.
Totally agree.
You’re an OG!
@@TeslaOverland Haha.. Salute!
Thanks for the advice. I have been shopping around for an 2003-2008. Only issue is the timing belt. I was under the assumption that after three changes the vehicle was done. You cleared that up.
Nope! Two Tundras with the same 4.7 engine just went to a million miles. Mine has 180k and drives like new.
It’s crazy how they are increasing in value
When I owned an FJ for 3 1/2 years I raced it, took it off roading, mudding, several deep water crossings(hurricane), it still ran like new. Got it at 100k and put 50k miles on it. Now I drive a 4runner and planning on getting a GX470 pretty soon. Toyota for life. Number 1 trucks. Number 1 reliability.
I wish I could have all three.
I have ( for now ) the new Jeep Cherokee trail hawk . At 30,000 miles the 9 speed transmission took a dumb and had to be replaced with a new one. Looking for a replacement and may have just found it on this channel
I support that! 😜
Probably the smartest thing you could have done congrats! It’s bad ass!
Thx!
picked a 04 gx on January after watching your video(also a huge fan and owner of prado myself). Have already put 10k km in these covid 19 months and really love it. The only concern is the non-vvti engines are super weak at horsepower so I haven't upgrade the tires yet.
Makes me glad I got the 05 with VVTI
And man don't tell me about that 4.7 V8, being durable , daily driver, cool, with excellent offroad capabilities and finally tunable. 👌👍 Great inside man🙏
Insights I meant
Thanks!
Thx!
Great video, subscribed for more. We're looking at a 2009 GX470 with 97k this weekend Hoping it checks out!
Awesome. Good luck!
@@TeslaOverland Went to see it this evening. I bought it! Picking it up tomorrow!
Sweet!
I’m selling my 4Runner to my son and buying either a 460 or a 470. I’m 77 and like my creature comforts! That’s brother and I’ll be praying for your church plant.
Thx Bill! Lucky son!
I've been having such a hard time finding a 4runner, v8, 4WD, with the 3rd row seats. I've really considered the GX470. The more I look it, the more it grows on me. Those TRD wheels definitely set it off!
C'mon! You won't go back!
@@TeslaOverland just picked one up last week! Absolutely love it! Everything I could've wanted and then more!
Ha! Whoops. The cats out of the bag. I got mine before the craze hit. 😂🤷🏽♂️
Subbed. Looking to get one of these next and I agree with everything you said. Its easier and cheaper to find these than it is to find a V8 4runner. Coming from a frontier, just need more passenger space.
For real!
Thanks
😂 not an easy choice! But can’t go wrong either way.
What’s your daily driver?
subbed, much needed for GX470 peeps
Thanks! So agree!
Most of the guys I know just run regular.
Planning to pick one of these up since I've had many Jeeps and now have a 2020 TRD Pro 4 Runner. Coronavirus has ruined my business so I can't afford my 4R. Subbed for ideas.
Nice! Bummer about your 4Runner. Beautiful truck.
Looks like a great platform to start on, seeing it become more common. Southern style Offroads megalex is definitely proof they can be built up. They even have a few products for them. I’ve been watching lifestyle overland and I think they they picked up the 460. Can’t wait to see how you build yours.
That megalex is unreal.
Great video! Keep them coming. I have a white 2009 GX470. My wife has a black 2004 GX470. No overlanding upgrades yet.
LOVE the white ones. How's the paint holding up?
Good man, I’m excited about getting into this and looking to get a GX soon
Yes do it! Hit me up if I can help.
Nice what region are you in?
@@TeslaOverland Oklahoma.
Interesting vid. Very compelling case for the GX470. Just for fun I started browsing CarGurus and NOW, the GX470's within 200 miles of me are bringing about a $2000 premium from where they were when this vid was first published. Ouch. Back to Tundra shopping. :)
Ha. People are catching on!
Finally! Haha this is what I been looking for! I just picked up my 08 yesterday, not sure on how I want to start customizing it. I just subd’ and looking forward to your videos 👍
💪🏾💪🏾
Great tips.
Thanks man for this video ,I am getting on soon.
Right on!
Thanks dude! Awesome video for beginners
Thank you!
Just found this channel, love the focus on "non traditional" overlanding vehicles
Thx! Hope it’s helpful!
If God would have given apostle Paul a GX for one of his journeys, that would have been an interesting letter to read. Planting churches and overlanding go well together. Enjoy every moment pastor.
Yes! It’s that spirit of adventure!
Just bought a 2009 GX470 with 130K. All mtc. done at Lexus never been of road. My wife and I are planning on taking it across country.
Great find!
Awesome thx for your video, I’m doing something similar to my GX 460
Nice! You putting any videos up?
