Great video ❤️
Awesome!, Thank you, Bob
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions Bob! I appreciate you!!!
You’re spot on with the downscaling topic, if Mike adds 480i and 1080i output to the RT4K, I’d be surprised.
I use that Active SCART Buffer V3 from JS Technology and I've never had to think about it in the five years I've had it so far as it's always just worked flawlessly.
Living in South Florida, in my college days, I would go to Flanagan's after class order nachos and a beer. It would get you a discount for that combo. So yeah we would totally make that a meal. I think it was only on Mondays but hey we would take advantage of any deal we can get back then.
Hi Bob, just a small message to thank you for your answers in previous episode about my broken hdmi on my mister. Thes were indeed wise words. Now, in the future, if I'm poor, I'll bet on the de10 clone from Taki Udon that just popped up in my feeds. If I'm rich, I'll go for the Mars FPGA if it's not a scam. Every way is a win !
Hey Bob, if you have RT4K, with its HDMI input, are hdretrovision component cables a step up from wii2HDMI?
Yes, since you're using the superior analog to digital conversion. LOL, that's not throwing shade at the Wii2HDMI though - We're talking $750 vs $25, so it BETTER be better :)
@@RetroRGB makes perfect sense! Thanks for the quick reply! I guess I'm officially in the market now for a component switch, since that's how I have the OG Xbox hooked up to the RT4K.
When you spend a lot of money on something like an OLED TV you don't expect to baby sit it in 2024 or get a warranty that has a bunch of caveats regarding dead pixels and brightness loss etc. The fact LG has never faced a class action law suit is hilarious, everyone I know including myself has been "burned" by OLED TV's in various levels of dissatisfaction over a few years.
I can't recommend LG OLED's. They do look nice, for awhile. And maybe they've actually fixed the issue. But we bought one for $2500 and then about 6 months after the warranty ran out a manufacturing defect with the red leds reared its head and they were dying. They knew of the issue and did not contact me directly, so it was missed. $2500 down the drain. I do not trust them anymore - our LG fridge died as well, and that was it for LG in our house. We have a Sony OLED now and it's great.
Oh also I ended up buying a 3 tab SNES Game Genie after curiosity from you saying you wish you have one that worked for SuperFX chip. I received it and opened it up - it shows v2.0. Are there any specific games I can try for you?
I mean that's ONE TV. I and many friends have had theirs for almost 10 years with no problems. Not really a fair statement.
My one went bad after a couple of years and I have friends who have experienced problems with OLED TV's specifically LG. I'm not going to cherry coat it but LG's quality control has always been poor even before OLED. Yes they have a terrible warranty policy that basically acknowledges OLED is a defective technology so they can get out of many of the issues. Also OLED TV working from 10 years ago? That must be some kind of miracle that is right around the time LG launched them and the first generation OLED TV's were horrendously unreliable and overpriced.
29:00 The problem with 4:3 content is in instances that don't have really black bars. (pixel off).
Have gray bars or worse, NES or SNES games on Switch that have an overlay
Wait... Apparently, the Wii2HDMI is now called the ElectronWarp. No joke.
I honestly think it's a good idea, considering "Wii2HDMI" is a generic name.
They changed the name because the of the HDMI brand copyright nonsense

On the "always use a powered splitter" thing, I have a powered amp/splitter for RCA cables, and the manual for that one says that it shouldn't be used for audio signals (I could find the link/model number if anyone is curious). So, I split the three video RCA cables of the component signal through the powered splitter, and the audio gets split with the simple Y adaptors. Maybe that's outside of the scope of what Bob was saying; I'm just throwing that out there as a data point.
