@@RestoreRevise I prefer 6. Recently, I heard that the online server for these games has been revived privately, you could also check that out. I was suggested your video to my feed because I like watching tutorial and PS3 videos.
Very true, I will say that the SSD indeed can potentially make a huge difference in speed despite being limited to a SATA 1 interface, my ps3 had a mostly corrupted hard drive and it was super slow (like almost unusable), indeed it is slow because the hard drive was corrupted so I replaced the hard drive with a 1TB Samsung Evo 870 and it made a massive difference. GTA 5 takes only 60-70 seconds to load from the XMB (not much slower than GTA 5 on my PS5 lol). I also tested it with a Kingston SSD (DRAM-less) and it was certainly faster than the old hard drive but noticeably slower than the Evo 870 which does have a DRAM cache. Hence yea, I would say an SSD in a PS3 is a very good idea despite the SATA 1 hardware limitation.
Hey nice video! I enjoyed it :) One small tip though: The volume of your voice sometimes lowers to below the music volume (or at least much closer) which made it a bit harder to understand Edit: My favorite game series is Metal Gear Solid and the PS3 can play all of them, maybe you'd enjoy it too :)
Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep that in mind for the future 😀 I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for the suggestions! I've never played any MGS games and this is probably a great jumping off point for them.
What I would say is possibly more important than brand is that you use a drive with a DRAM cache, since the PS3 system software can't use its system RAM for storage cache like it's possible to do on a PC. For reliability and longevity, I recommend the usual quality brands. Personally, I've had great experiences with Seagate, WD, SanDisk (a sub-brand of WD), Crucial, and Samsung. I haven't owned many drives by ADATA, but the few that I have are suitable. Also, if you can, wait for a sale before purchasing a drive. Different brands seem to go on sale at different times, and it's not uncommon to get a good deal with a little patience.
@@RestoreRevise Thank you so much for such a detailed answer. Loved the video btw. I asked for brands because I've seen people praise WD and Samsung of course but Ill check out the others you have mentioned. Thank you for the extra information beyond my question. And yes I will wait for either amazon prime day discounts since Im in no rush to get one right now
Before anyone else points it out, yes; I pronounce it "SAY-tuh" / "SAH-tuh" interchangeably. Reply to tell me why I'm wrong 😅
If you are into racing, Gran Turismo 5 and 6 loading times benefit the most from the SSD upgrade. Plus the graphics still look good today.
I'd love to check them out! Do you prefer 5 or 6?

@@TheNamelessUse Yeah, that sounds really cool! Thanks for the tip; I'll look into it!

Absolutely go for God of War, those games are insanely fun!
Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely be picking those up soon!
