Another nice video. Great job and great shoot.
Great shots. Would be helpful to know the shot info like shutter speed, f stop, focal length, lens, flash strength and duration when you show the shots. Keep up the great work.
It will be awesome if you do a video of how you edit those photos and the skin retouching. Thanks for share it.
You spoke my mind . It will be good if he shares that too. Big fan of his works
@@Keyiputlang1 But I doubt he will!
@@Snapindrgn76 :)))
It doesn't seem like much. Once you exposed the background and set the proper flash speed, that;s 98% of the whole thing.
Love the simplicity & elegance of these shots! Awesome work as usual bro!
Thanks so much, man!😊
Glad to see you back, master chef of photography!
Love the light balance between model and backround..not too hyper real
Bro every time I type the type of situation of lighting photography you always pop up lol! Good job ! 👍
Nice to see you’re back
Masterclass, great!
Always love these! Even though it may not have been the ideal conditions for what you wanted, this shoot, showing us what you used and how you approached some of these situations came out awesome!
Excellent work
I always learn something with each of your videos.
Your just awesome!! Great video!! So I see you use the ad85 over the ad65 for most of your outdoor portraits. I just like the size and shape of the ad65 but understand the coverage is better with the ad85 softbox..
You are a true inspiration brother
Thanks, Aaron!😊
Fantastic work! Love this shoot!
Dammmnn man... AWESOME WORK!
You kill it every time brotha!
Thank you!😁
Excellent Behind The Scenes. Great images.
Thanks for helping.
My favorite videos are behind the scenes! 😄
Working on another right now!😊
Just ordered the ad300 pro from adorama, super excited and huge thanks for that link to the discount!!
Fjh I'm big fan you, I've been watching building the shot series so far, but I think its time to show and tell us how u created the shots, why u chose the location, why u dressed up model in particular color dress, by making videos right at the location, it will feel more practical I hope you'll get what want to convey 😄
I can only speak for myself but it's sometimes many things go wrong in a shoot so I just wing it. That's what happened with this shoot. I had asked for another outfit with a skirt, I wanted sunny weather, and the outfit didn't match the location in my opinion. Most shoots I do are planned better, but this shoot wasn't. I've done videos explaining a shoot better. Search my channel for "behind the shot".
@@fjhphoto Sorry I think I'm expecting too much, whatever you have gave us is just great ❤️, I can't even express myself how much I'm thankfull to you, I learned a lot just by watching your BTS series, Do what you can and what you are doing in a way that you are doing right now 💯, loads of love from india ❤️
Love the Sony Alpha apparel and such… Makes me want Canon R5 apparel for my shoots. 🤣
Go for it, haha. Great camera.🔥
Cool shots
Hi, great video, as always. I see that you prefer to shoot with ND filter, instead of HSS. Could you, please, explain why is that? I know that you loose power when you push the shutter speed to the limit with HSS, but buying a more powerful strobe and using HSS seems more convenient. Thank you for awesome free content.
A smaller strobe is always gonna be more convenient than a bigger strobe. The size difference between the 400 Pro and 300 Pro isn't too crazy but I fit two 300 Pro strobes in my camera bag way better than two 400 Pro strobes.

If I knew Spanish I definitely would.
@@fjhphoto I thought you knew sorry lol
Esse é o tipo de vídeo que se dá o like antes de ver, parabéns pelo seu trabalho.
Great Job!
Kudos for appearing on Fstoppers!
Thank you so much!😊
Awesome 🔥
Love your work! And appreciate your BTS!
Did you use a ND filter for all these shots? Or just when the sun started to pop out strong?
I used the filter for all these shots. The first couple of photos look like it's cloudy in the sky but it still had bright sun underneath so it was still bright enough to use the filter.
Awesome video
that frickin valley wind bro! I took some pics there on friday, and jeez, the frickin wind blowing hair all over the place the whole time!! LOL
The wind was seriously blowing that day. That's why a lot of the poses with her hat she has her hand on it, haha.
Thank you very much for the knowledge that has been given for free. I'm from Indonesia, I need Indonesian translation. Thank you
felicidades hermano me encanta tu estilo....
Your pictures are amazing, that's your trademark ! But my question is How do you directing your model... What to say to give her the expression that you want ?
I don't direct too specific but I usually say things like "serious" or "moody" when I want no smile and then "smile with teeth", "smile with no teeth", or small smile" for variations of smiles. Some models have better expressions than others though and some practice expressions in the mirror which really helps at photoshoots.
@@fjhphoto Keeping it Simple... Seems to work very well ! Many Thanks !
Very helpful! May I ask 2 things:
1) Why do you like the Good 300 better than the 400?
2) at 4:19 What arm / stand do you use to hold the flash?
Thanks in advance;-)
great video but can you show us how you edit this photo session?
I plan to do that soon.😊
Noice
what a model ? :D
Love bts vids thanks!
Beautiful session. I really want to know how you get that smooth luck to all your photos. Is that a plug-in? Or is that your own recipe? What kelvin do you like to shoot at?
I shoot auto white balance always and if it needs adjusting I do so to taste in lightroom. The smoothness is from soft lighting, some frequency separation, and dodge and burn. Together it gives that look.
@@fjhphoto tutorial retouch please bro✌
wow i did not know these lights could make photos so different!!! beautifully different!! how do you use them outside? do they work with batteries???
Hey can I collab with you one day I’m out here in Edinburg for work. From houston been watching for a few years now love ur work man
I'm always down to collab.😊
What settings did you use? Damn the quality man
Absolutely love your content, I’ve noticed you usually shoot with a single light set up(or 2 light for hair/rim), how do you avoid dark shadows without a V board or reflector to fill in the shadows a bit? I saw the before and after on your Instagram and I always feel like I’m trying to pull back the shadows on the dark side of the face and whatnot, just trying to avoid having to do this in post processing, am i using the wrong modifier? TIA, cheers!
That's heavily dependent on the amount of ambient light in your situation and the look you’re going for. If there’s a lot of ambient then adjusting your settings so that it shows a good amount will have the ambient basically act like fill light. But on the other hand if you expose the ambient to be dark like the first half of the photos in this video then the shadows will be darker.
I typically adjust for the sky then add the light to the model, but that kills most of the light on the models shadow side, I’ll try to shoot later in the evening and see if that helps! Thanks for the response! 🙏🏼
Great shots. Settings? THX
Pls make video about this shoot editing photoshop section
Sure 😊
I see you use a CTO gel on the 100. What's your white balance setting on the camera and why?
eh my dude, which light is where? what the key light, whats the rim? are you shooting ttl or manuel?
Graeat work, whats softbox did u use it?
nice video
Thanks, sir.😊
Great Bts 😎
Hi Francisco, great video. What is the brand of the retractable lightstand that you use for the backlight. Need to change mines
It's the Nissin LS-55C stand. Out of stock since I bought it a few months ago. Not sure why. It's a nice lightweight stand. I use it mainly when I have an unmodified rim light. I also use the Manfrotto nano stand too and that's it stock:
amzn.to/3wNzaiy
Which Lightstand is that at @6:55 in the background? Thanks!
It's called the Nissin LS-55C but it's out of stock. This stand is very comparable to it: amzn.to/3wNzaiy
Always great work! If you don't mind, how much do you hire for a local model?
I only do TFP work unless I'm doing a workshop. So for this shoot and many of my shoots I take the photos for free and the model models for free. I deliver 10-15 photos for bts videos like this one.
Nice work where is your Sony A7RIV??
Sold it a few months ago to pay off some bills. I wasn't really using it as much as my A7RIII.
@fjhphotography, Could you substitute the AD100 with say an LED lamp rather than a strobe and get close to near lighting result?
Yeah that's possible. LED lights are better in less sunlight though so it really depends on how much sun is out.
I was shooting a graduation on campus and I saw you shooting this but didn't recognize you.
Ah, that was you I saw. I always try to say hi to other photographers whenever I'm shooting but I was so focused on the shoot that day, haha.
@@fjhphoto yes indeed lol
What parameters did you use in this photo session and your Lens..... You have great art. Greetings
if you say Shutter Aperture ISO
I used a 6 stop ND filter throughout the shoot so I was around 1/125th, ISO 100, and wide open on my aperture.
Awesome work ! Can you show original and edited ??
Yes I'm making another video from this shoot soon and will show the before and after. If you follow my instagram I will share the before and afters of the photos tomorrow in my stories.
How powerful is your modeling light on your strobe, just asking because on some shots your getting a perfect Rembrandt lighting on your model, and it looks pretty sunny out there. Does your model have a social media site?
The modeling lamp would not be useful in bright sun so I think you mean the strobe's power? This is the model's IG:

Hey, love your content but I have a question. Im just starting off with flash photography and now looking to by my first kit. Im looking at a set of two Godox AD200 prowith the B2 adaptor for 730 or getting the Godox AD300 Pro. Which one should I go with and why? ill be doing weddings and maternity shoots with portraits as well.
Do you ever gel your ad300 if so, how? thank you in advance :-)
lol dude ive never understood the sticker on the hat. Why don't you take off the sticker?
Hey FJ I'm taking about 4.11 sec scene. R u didn't get any shadow of tree leaves on her face?
I kept the light very much to the left side and it prevented shadows from the leaves.
At what aperture where you shooting and with what lens, these pics are crispy. How do you edit the Latina skin, would love a tutorial on that, especially for overcast days. Warming the entire images does not work with all scenes.
I shot wide open for all the photos. So f/1.2 on the 35 and 1.4 on the 105. I use frequency separation for the skin for a tiny bit of softening then dodge and burn for some pop. I'll try and get a tutorial on some of these photos soon.
How do you find the ad100 over the flashpoint /godox V 860 ii? Magmod rubber fit?
Magmod does barely fit over the 100 so that's nice but honestly while the 100 is a great light it's definitely a light that has a role of being mainly a rim light. So if that's what you intend to use it for then it'll be great. That's why I got it myself and the fact that it's so small. It works with the magnetic AK-R1 accessories for Godox too in case you ever wanted to use them.
I take advantage of the magnets around the light to attach magmod gels on it. You can see in some parts of the video I attached the CTO gel onto the light.
@@fjhphoto I see,..many thanks for your reply. If you don't mind, another question, did you do action for your editing? the reason to ask is the consistency on your images...I need to work on that myself :)
@@charruaporelmundo I prefer to do manual edits always but in photoshop I do use the same several techniques of Frequency Separation, Dodge & Burn, then end the photo with the Selective Color adjustment layer to adjust the colors. No presets or actions that I just apply to the photos.
Quá tuyệt vời
Retouching video pla
👍👍👍👍👍
Hello Sir, I am thinking to buy the glow ez softbox but not sure which one would fit my godox AD 200 pro or a normal Godox TTL 685 flash, any suggestions would be appreciated. Do they have extra mount for ad200?
These are some great pictures, beautiful, really! Me not being a photographer, please let me ask a silly question: what's the purpose of those pictures or such a type of photoshoot? I mean, do you sell the pictures, perhaps even print them and put them into a gallery? Or put them in a (digital) drawer where they stay simply until... doomsday? Or is is about selling the fashion the model's wearing, and therefore the shoot gets paid? So many great shots, but now, what's next from here?
For me it's simply just the challenge of creating good images outdoors. It's a lot tougher than you might realize. I enjoy the difficulty of having to adjust composition, settings, lighting, and dealing with the elements. Makes the good shots rewarding.
I do nothing but TFP work (she models for free and I end up giving her some photos in return) but I make my money through youtube so I'm happy with that type of working relationship. If I can share how I create my photos with others then that's even better. I try to make my channel and my instagram educational to help others who visually learn better understand lighting.
@@fjhphoto Way to go, keep it rolling, big thumbs up!
Did you photoshop those pictures?

podrias ayudarme con el tema del color en sony? honestamente buscaba algo como en tus fotos pero desde lightroom las pieles me salen muy mal! tendras un tutorial para poder ayudarme a corregir esos colores amarillentos que deja la a7iii
Hi Francisco, I'm choosing one of the Godox pro flash. Is ad400pro enough to get the same result on a sunny day?
Yes, the Godox AD400 Pro is an excellent light. I used it for a long time before getting the Godox AD300 Pro.😊
@@fjhphoto thanx, I bought me the 400.)
