Just screams of someone losing faith in themselves of forgetting who they are or were and it fucking breaks my heart
i cried as soon as i heard this, the chorus' melody hit me in the chest
I hope they make music forever
I know every band has a song like this but it sounds like they don’t feel like going on forever “I hear a thousand people sing, I feel nothing” sounds pretty done

This track is ridiculously good, and so is this whole album. I dare to say I like As You Please better than Youth.

Idk I wouldn't say that, while it is all subjective they've definitely lost their ability to make a good ass chorus, all of the songs on Youth are really good, like musically, really fucking good, whereas these newer albums, I can appreciate the experimenting, but it seems way too tacky and weird most of the time on this album, almost poppy, almost emo, it's like they're trying to balance on 2 tightropes with one leg, just shaky and not very safe, I definitely think youth is their best album in every way, now I definitely LIKE this album, but I don't hear any like really memorable choruses or riffs, it's lacking in some spots for sure
@Nick Francis yeah I agree, album isn't bad at all, but there is literally not a bad song on youth, there's a few sleepers in this album

So pumped to hear them reintroduce more of their Youth sound. I appreciated the artistic approach on Everybody Is Going to Heaven as it was much more experimental, a true showcase of their abilities and influence. Despite that, it didn't register with me as much as the previous album. However, this by far has to be their most well written effort to date. Its like all the best parts of Youth and Everybody Is Going To Heaven melded together in a flawless execution of musicianship. Fucking love Citizen always will be a fan
