I have to question the legitimacy of this speedrun. The in-game timer at the start doesn't line up right with yours. Maybe you're playing on an emulator- and, if so, good luck on being able to post that to the leaderboards. Those guys are always strict Either way, a valiant record.
The in game timer jumping around is a consequence of the frog/turon skip strat he's using, the game is scripted so you can't reach Runas before the timer runs out, and it starts freaking out if you get way ahead of where the game thinks you're supposed to be.
The game just has the timer set up, you can’t actually reach the Runas ever. If you take your time the counter slows down and if you speed up it goes faster. Just never lets you get to the Runas.

Excellent run. Considering how simple the game's coding is, I think finding something that allows for increased speed during regular gameplay could be the only way to beat this run.
This route is outdated. We recently discovered a trick that allows us to skip Blood ID by wrong warping from Hourglass Meadow to Desert Entrance. You just have to get hit by a tank while falling into the water/code and the game combines the warp values into the value for Desert Entrance. It saves about 15 seconds if done properly. It also takes out the difficult Banana skip trick by just skipping the banana level entirely.
He never used the blood ID. The point was to skip Phindoll and the red water which can't be done (AFAIK) with the wrong warp. It's a toss up choosing between the two strats if you manage to get remote freak out to skip Phindoll, but his neigh flawless execution in the banana level means he saves more than enough time in the desert to beat a wrong warp.
@@nahometesfay1112 and you also need the banana skip if you want to remove the sand storm, making the wrong warp less viable, as you will need frame perfect button pressing, so you do the banana skip in the desert, however, it is almost impossible to banana skip in the dessert, as you will need to glitch through the ground and press the a button at the perfect time, making it almost impossible to do, as it thrusts you out of the ground almost immediately, making banana skip a much more viable option. P.S. The banana skip in the desert is also much better if done properly, but if you mess up, you add about 3 minutes to your run, so banana skip is better if you don’t want to risk it, as almost nobody has done it properly, and the only person who has doesn’t know how to skip how to do it again and they had a game breaking error that made Phindoll start dialog, and Phindoll adds around 40 seconds to your time, also making the wrong warp useless, even with the banana skip at the desert. When they wrong warped, they also did the banana skip somehow, breaking the game and crashing it, as 2 dialogs were open at the same time, and the dialog started again because there was the same dialog going on, and if it detects the dialog, then it plays another dialog, breaking the game, and the reason the Phindoll dialog started in the first place is a mystery, as it just randomly started in the desert.
I think he faked the speedrun through splicing, the in game timer kept on skipping, besides the cutscenes would pause the time. And in order to get the Torreón you have to play the cutscene which you have to be close in order to activate, and in order to skip it you have to reset at the exact same time as the cutscenes activation, of which only a robot speed-runner could do. And besides since you didn’t activate the brick frog cutscene you should’ve had a game over once you get sucked in, meaning you had to splice in order to save fake time. After the banana are you went in the first hole which should’ve gave you a game over screen. On the desert you reset and teleported close to the pyramid which isn’t possible even by tas standards, as you would have to go to the fountain in order to clear the storm which would open the door, so the fountain is unskipable. And there’s a reason you had a face cam there as it hides the auto save.
Phindoll is a stoppable encounter if you don’t look at the biblically accurate Angel, and the storm doesn’t matter. It only blocks if you talk to phindoll

Basically the reason is the game checks a list encounters, and will only spawn the sandstorm if you get the banana dialogue, and since you didnt do it, it doesnt spawn

Moony has an auto AI bot where if you start to get pass her, it will trigger an event script that will make you encounter an hard enemy but due to my knowledge if you mess with the games code you can set the walkspeed for Moony to 0 this will cause an auto IP kick
very impressive! but you forgot the "Turron Skip" discoverd by IcuP by buffering speed with the BGF flip, it also works when you give the Turron for the Blood ID (by the way the blood ID it's useless in an any% run because nobody know it real use) you can save with it at least 419 frames with this.
This is actually well crafted it looks like if Ena was a game. Like how he dialouge were skip like dialouge boxes and the other characters that tell you where to go were entirely cut like they were optional.

While impressive, it could be possible to shave off _several_ seconds... theoretically. If the Banana skip (glitchless or otherwise) truly is feasible, then you wouldn't need to obtain the blood ID, or even the Turrón for that matter, skipping those interactions all together. It would be _extremely_ risky though and would absolutely kill the run if you mess it up, which is why most opt to get those two items as a failsafe. Again, _theoretically._ I'm unsure if you might actually need the ID to be able to do the skip, or if the game checks your inventory in certain areas, or some other third thing. But if what I think is true, then someone could possibly get a sub 1;30 with some patience. Also, I'm not going to argue the validity of the Pause Menu Turrón, the Sandstorm skip, or the fact that you entered the first door instead of the third, here. Seeing as these Any%s can get pretty wild.
The Blood ID is used in the desert level, it can be used to stain the water without help from the witch, since she only spawns after talking to Phindoll.
@@duckmine5809 yeah, but if you don't talk to Gabo or Marya the sandstorm doesn't spawn. You don't really need the Blood ID if not for failsafe just in case you can't do the Banana Skip, that is a very risky skip (it can mess up the game script and make Moony appear out of nowhere).
Insane run, amazing dialogue skips and restart level skips, my best for speed running this game is around sub 5 minutes, but this was insane, truly amazing.

the dialogue skipping. the frame level restarting cutscene skips. not talking to the characters you're supposed to. this man's a master. i didn't even know people had figured out how to get the turrón without speaking to the merchant. i mean, personally i could probably have dodged the civilians a little better to save a little time but what do i know. great speedrun!

While impressive, it could be possible to shave off _several_ seconds... theoretically.
If the Banana skip (glitchless or otherwise) truly is feasible, then you wouldn't need to obtain the blood ID, or even the Turrón for that matter, skipping those interactions all together.
It would be _extremely_ risky though and would absolutely kill the run if you mess it up, which is why most opt to get those two items as a failsafe.
Again, _theoretically._
I'm unsure if you might actually need the ID to be able to do the skip, or if the game checks your inventory in certain areas, or some other third thing.
But if what I think is true, then someone could possibly get a sub 1;30 with some patience.
Also, I'm not going to argue the validity of the Pause Menu Turrón, the Sandstorm skip, or the fact that you entered the first door instead of the third, here. Seeing as these Any%s can get pretty wild.
The Blood ID is used in the desert level, it can be used to stain the water without help from the witch, since she only spawns after talking to Phindoll.
@@duckmine5809 yeah, but if you don't talk to Gabo or Marya the sandstorm doesn't spawn. You don't really need the Blood ID if not for failsafe just in case you can't do the Banana Skip, that is a very risky skip (it can mess up the game script and make Moony appear out of nowhere).

Insane run, amazing dialogue skips and restart level skips, my best for speed running this game is around sub 5 minutes, but this was insane, truly amazing.
