why do you need a steering dampener on a bike that tops out at 118 mph? I have a '94 Monster 900 and I'm lucky if it hits 112mph. keep your forks and tire in good working order and you don't need a dampener.
I simply followed the advice of Peter from Simpson racing. They specialize in Ducati and after years of testing on the road they noticed that the chassis part needed some small adjustment to be at its best
