I put Clifton Powell up there with Denzel Washington and Will Smith. I've always told people that Clifton Powell is one of my favorite actors of all time. When Charles Dutton and Clifton Powell played their roles on the show Roc those episodes sent chills though my body 💯
Very underrated actor, I met Clifton Powell on set of Father of Lies in 2007. The cast included, Vica Fox and DMX. All were very down to earth people. The same game he's giving in this interview he gave to me. He's a stand up guy!✊🏿
I hope you applied what he taught you bro. Cause he literally gave you a one-on-one clinic for FREE as a professional actor. You ain't gone run into that often

So glad I stumbled onto a clip on acting by him on social media. Would have never known how serious he was about his craft. He's keeping it VERY real in this interview and drops a ton of science on the craft of acting.
I remember seeing Mr. Powell in House Party (1990). To date, he is still my favorite actor. Mr. Powell's self-discipline and devotion to training for success are inspiring. Regardless of your profession, his counsel is crucial.
This interview is important, because people have no idea, how PAINFUL the journey is. I've been homeless twice since pursing a life in the arts. It's a beautiful struggle. Not everyone is built for it.
maannn clifton wus dropping some real deep shyt with the whole memorizing a scene like a beat thing around the 17:20 mark. It actually makes a great deal of sense because what your capturing is a vibration really in a nutshell and its all relative. Coach Phil jackson eluded to something like this with the Bulls team he coached. you add meditation ect it works that much better
I never have seen him in any interview anywhere, that is NOT fair ... Until now, way cool. Never seen a performance by the guy I didn't like. You name it "Dead Presidents"/"Deep Cover"/"Lockdown"/"Ray". He came from D.C. Metro, had no clue !
Pierre why you had to call out Little Rock, Arkansas??? Lol, thank both of you so much for this episode. It’s very much appreciated, so many gems and FOR FREE. I learned a lot and laughed about “my little parts in my Little Rock, Arkansas plays”. This episode was like I was right in the room having the conversation with y’all personally.
