@@rhyno8644 I don't think you've seen the different productions he's been a part of if you think that he plays the same character in every role. Your statement is grossly misguided.
I love Cliffton Powell , his movie roles is iconic , we still mimic him in all his movies . And thank you for doing an very respectful interview and not constantly interrupting Clifford. Your the best interviewer on UA-cam.
Thank you Mr. Powell for staying true to yourself and your god’s given gifts please 🙏🏿 continue to bless you with experiencing your blessings!!!!!! The Gospel touched billions!!!!!!🙏🏿
Clifton Powell in my opinion is one of the most underrated black actors that ever lived. That man is brilliant! Hollywood really dropped the ball in not casting him in more mainstream movies. He should be in movies with the likes of Denzel Washington Idris Elba, Larry Fishburne, and many others. In dramas, Clifton Powell has an intensity that captures you. He can be funny and make comedies that still demand your attention on him. He is a better actor than most that you see in films even back in the day. You have fans Clifton who appreciate your work brother.
Clifton is an underrated diverse actor. He can play serious to comedic roles. Side note: I’m a Powell. I’ve never heard anyone pronounce Powell like that. 🤔😂 Great interview nonetheless.
Such a great interview. Mr Powell I grew up in DC also. I had no idea you came from that area. You are such a great actor. And you have groom yourself well. Keep up the great work. Young man, That's Tuff Talk Show, keep up the great interviews I really enjoyed it. Mr Powell is a very interesting man.
Great interview, loved the fact that you allow your guest to flow without interruptions! A handful of podcast can learn a thing or two from your channel! Excellence
This was a great interview. I always enjoy hearing about the path that led people to where they are. I also appreciate Clifton acknowledging the people who helped him along his journey as well and that he has really trained and studied his craft.
@@carlsmith2225 the first nutty professor was good... Dr Doolittle was good... He was good in Dream Girls... Personally I like him in the movie called Metro... It was only a voiceover but he was funny in Shrek
My daughter graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Arts in 2022 for stage management. Hopefully, she will work with Mr. Powell in the future. He seems to have great energy and vibes.
Good to see and hear Clifton Powell. Any role he does is always memorable. Only a few actors have that skill. No matter how big or small the role was Clifton is always unforgettable.
Enjoyed dis one on soooooo many levelz..... Clifton Powell iz my favorite actor and eye would LOVE too see him &&& Denzel Washington star inna movie together
I love his characters but I think Hollywood was typecasting him to much for certain roles. Powell reminds me of Michael Kenneth Williams for powerful black roles. I would love him to play as a black panther party member. Love his acting much respect to him.
This interview was very nice and insightful. Mr Powell is so humble and down to earth, the kind of celebrity that won’t be a jerk to fans. Good for him and Thanks for the interview.
Saw him in person at a celebrity basketball game in Houston in the mid to late 90s… he and Flex were the best players… dude could really ball… after the game he walked right by me and I noticed he was around 6’… I didn’t say anything because I was young and dumb lol… he is a great actor and it would have been great to get a pic with him… of course this was before camera phones lol… salute to you Mr Powell…
Outstanding interview: Mr. Powell, we appreciate your character (Integrity) and how you explained your views of Life - Also, if I may when you create your Podcast, please have an episode related to what you described happened to you in Albany, NY while waiting for your son and stopped by some brothers - We really need to express the difference between a "character" played and real-life experiences of the Actors - We work with young men currently under correction supervision who portray characters from a variety of past shows/movies who need to hear that it's a part actors portray who are Professionally Trained- Appreciate Mr. Williams navigating the interview professionally and with class - Well Done!

Great Video!! And thanks for letting the Interviewee fully answer all the questions. A lot of Interviewers don't let the Interviewee answer all the questions. Thank for letting the man speak. Great interview! Great show! Keep going!
He’s so down to Earth and a coool cat it’s funny it’s so easy to get caught up or attached to the roles an actor plays and thinks that that’s how they are in real life but he’s such a gentlemen! Great podcast beloved Respec 👊🏾
Peace to Clifton Powell, a good brotha. I had a good conversation with him years ago at a bar at a Ruby Tuesday I managed. A real down to earth person, big respect.
I grew up by St Anthony and still live in that area, The great late Coach John Thompson made St Anthony a powerhouse before G-Town, James Brown grew up in my hood went to school with his brother.
We need a series on Netflix about Pinky becoming an aging pimp in this modern age. Like he went to be married for a few years or prison for a few years, comes out and has to pimp this new generation, and everything is weird and sensitive now so he has to adapt to this day. You know it would be hilarious. Think Night Shift from the 80's with Henry Winkler and Michael Keaton. Epic show with comedy and real life experience ❤
SE DC same neighborhood Marvin Gaye was from remember when everyone thought he was Eddie Murphy brother 😅 cause he reminds you of them especially Charlie Murphy
Wow man, Mr. Powell looks great. I thought that he was way older than he actually is because he had a role in Black Lightening on the CW a few years ago. And he played an older minister and was bald. I just kinda thought that he was taken to the wayside by time like we all eventually do. He looked paunchier and heavier than I remember. Turns out he's just a REALLY great actor! 😂😂 Seriously, he always has been amazing. I think one of my favorite roles he played was Andre Thompson on Roc in the early 90s. It wasn't the typical "drug dealer role for a black guy". He and Charles S Dutton were telling an AMAZING story about a drug dealer getting stood up to by a common man that was tired of the danger brought on by drugs in the community. And Mr. Powell nailed that role. Little fun fact about some of Mr. Powell's funnier work- We all know that he played Pinky on Next Friday. But a year before that, he starred as the villain character in a lesser known comedy called The Breaks, starring the now deceased Mitch Mullaney. In this movie, Clifton Powell plays a drug dealer named Cosmo, and the Cosmo character VERY MUCH exemplifies the spirit of Pinky. Its an EXTREMELY funny movie that carries the same feel and vibe as Friday, and feels like it could be from the same universe. And Powell plays a hilarious villain in the movie.
He is literally tied for my all time favorite actor…Him & Denzel. Also, I love CP so much as an actor to the point i even watch every bullshit low budget movie that I see pop up on UA-cam AND usually fast forward to his scenes. lol.
Clifton appreciates all the messages. Thank you everyone❤️

Damn near every movie & tv show Clifton Powell has been in he stole the show very underrated actor
