By supposing that you pack yourself, if you must move in one day, I highly recommend that you pack everything or almost everything beforehand. So the moving day, you will just have to actually move everything and maybe pack what you still used until the end. You cannot pack and move on the same day. And you will always need more boxes than you thought. And a lot of old newspapers to protect the fragile things.
Moving hacks I’ve learned from moving quickly over the years: pack a bag or two like you’re going on a vacation with everything you’ll need right away. Use clothes and towels to cushion fragile things. Use reusable bags as boxes but they’re better because they have handles. Laundry baskets and hampers work amazing to move shoes and books (things that are normally too heavy or don’t fit in boxes symmetrically). Keep all cleaning supplies together and move them last so you can clean your old place then you also can unpack them first. Make sure you have a plunger at the new place because luck always has it that toilets clog when they sense there isn’t one around. Don’t grocery shop your last week or two before moving. Do as much laundry as possible before you move or it will be overwhelming when you get to the new place. Don’t empty dresser drawers, remove them with the stuff in them and move them as is then you can put everything back and feel more unpacked. For kitchen stuff, have an essentials box with things you’ll need (can openers always get lost in the move for me and I need them before I can find them otherwise). For moving pets, set up a space for them that’s behind closed doors so the hecticness of moving strains them less. Moving plants can be tough, make sure to water them a day or two prior to the big day. Keep clothes on hangers while moving. Fill purses with small items that need to be packed (like jewelry or makeup) before packing them so small items stay categorized. And my best tip is giving away as much as you can before you move, so many people will jump at the chance to take items off your hands if you post an ad with free stuff (which I prefer to donating so it can be picked up plus someone receives an item they need at no cost). I especially try to get rid of heavy or bulky furniture. Often when moving into a new space the best part is reinventing your living space and my fav way to do that is start anew. I hope some of this helps! I’ve moved dozens of times and these are some things that help me make it less stressful. Best of luck moving! 🥰
Tip.....pack a small suitcase with everything you need for the first couple of days, toiletries aswell as clothes and then there's no pressure to unpack loads straight away!
And as for packing. Something I did was write on paper, everything that is in the box! That way I'm not struggling to look through all the boxes for what I'm looking for in the new place. I know it's super time consuming but it has helped me when I moved.
For packing clothes, the most effective way Ive found is to keep everything on the hangers and put them in a bin liner in a similar way as a suit bag (with the hangers sticking out of the top) - that way when you get to unpacking you dont waste time putting things back on their hanger :)
Moving tip: get/rent a dolly for each person that's helping with the move. Having multiple people move multiple boxes each trip makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE
Packing up everything you won’t need before the move and living with the necessities is helpful.Decluttering everything you don’t want to move also helps. This closet declutter is good timing.
Best tip for moving: pack early. It’s easier to just limit yourself to a small capsule wardrobe for 2 weeks than to pack everything all at once. I move in a month and over half of my clothes are already packed up, since I really only get 4 hours to move between my classes, research hours, and the schedule of those who are helping me.
1) don't take clothes off the hangers 2) label EVERYTHING 3) get different colored tape to differentiate where the boxes go in the house 4) you can get boxes from the liquor store or retail store 5) save newspapers and magazines to cushion fragile items or you can use linens you already have 6) the bed should be the last thing on the truck and the first thing out 7) have a over night bag of your essentials so you don't have to go looking for them if you don't get to a certain box. 8) don't over pack boxes. they get heavy fast 9) if you don't have a moving company take plenty of breaks 10) be aware of your surroundings when loading and unloading your boxes because people will steal stuff right in front of you 11) get plastic or a covering for the floors so they don't get damaged from all of the moving. 12) get multiple box cutters and break down boxes as you go 13) have a trash bag handy 14) make sure that your internet/tv service is ready to be set up at your new place ✌🏻❤️✌🏻❤️✌🏻❤️✌🏻
For moving, definitely pack up as much as you can in boxes beforehand so that you are just left with furniture items. For clothes definitely keep the clothes that you have hung up on hangers and just lay them in a trash bag and poke a hole at the bottom of the bag for the hangers to poke through. This saves so much time once you move in! Also save any plastic grocery bags if you have any and use them as padding for bowls, mugs, or anything breakable!!
When packing your dish ware and kitchen stuff, put it in a suitcase and wrap it in towels and clothes! In addition, pack a carry on with your essentials that you can live in and access easily because moving can be overwhelming and exhausting. Furthermore, if they don’t boxes with hangers for the clothes. I think you can take out all your clothes and leave them on hangers and just put it in a suitcase! I can’t wait for your moving vlogs and you’re so lucky to finally have a room solely for your clothes and shoes and accessories soon!
I had a 1 day move too, best thing I did was box everything in same size boxes, choose one room that the boxes go in and stack against the wall heavy on bottom. The if you can choose a room that you can put your furniture in and make it easy to walk out. Take things apart days before. Set them in the room and make sure you can walk in and out of each room. We moved houses in 4 hours lol
I have so many 100% cotton MADE IN USA 🇺🇸 & other jeans (~64) that they take up an entire closet so I USED YOUR SHELF IDEA (took a few hours) and although I still have an OUTRAGEOUS amount I can actually move my jeans without practically dislocating my shoulder! P.S. LOOOOVE your house- the more unusual the better- start thrifting and hitting antique stores for contemporaneous furnishings- I’ve got a 1960’s solid wood kidney shaped coffee table with a glass top that is SO FUNKY AND FAB!
You should check out Amazon, but then order directly from the shops of the brands you find there (little anti Amazon tip) you will find brands you never have heard of in your life that way.
Pack your boxes by room! When I moved last year I found that by sorting the boxes in the designated room reduced the work and made unpacking so quick since I could do room by room per day. Congrats on your new home btw!!
I put a garbage bag over the hanging stuff and tie the bottom closed so they don't slide out like a garment bag so they are all together and easier just to hang back up when get to new place and to save on some space put jeans and other stuff in vacuum seal space savers they will keep your items together and take up less room in the boxes or suitcases or duffle bag or whatever your putting your clothes in you can also do this to bedding and pillows so they aren't so bulky and take up a lot of room just some tricks that might help
For moving I would plan out what you’re going to pack each day so you can have a timeline and not feel overwhelmed. I would also plan ahead to rent a uhaul with a dolly/furniture mover.
before you donate or sell...keep the clothing for wrapping up breakable or to cover prescious art. then you'll have it all together anyway to donate after the move. socks are great for glasses ...best of luck
This make my closet that needs some work look easy and like its gonna be fun! Gonna put me on some rock music Foo Fighters and Delta Parole and then I will try my best. Thanks for the inspiring video!
Love watching other people cleaning their closets. I have put my winter jackets in the closet too. just too much space, where do you store your winter jackets/gears?
Clothes packing put large trash bags over your clothes and tie at the bottom. Put shoes and purses in large trash bags make sure to mark them. As far as kitchen stuff, go to a liquor and they always have smaller boxes easy to carry. Good luck.
Last year (lol two weeks ago) I decided to go through all my clothes and got rid of the stuff I haven’t been wearing for ages. Now my wardrobe doesn’t seem to explode lol
Hows the house purchase process going. Hope you havent had any major hicups. You guys must be gettting so excited if not already since starting. I know I was pacing counting the days down. Its now been 6 months and it still hasnt really sunk in that we are homeowners.
You should rather put everything on depop and make sure that your things find a new home and get money for that than donate it to thrift shops where a lot of them go to land field when people don't buy them.
SHLM UHaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Mose (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion & Resurrection of the Messiah. best organization tips?? let me know!!!

This is crazy, the way you organize your closet makes it look like you didn't have nearly as much stuff! You did such a great job putting it all away!
