The RAH-66 Comanche: Inside the Stealth Helicopter That Almost Made History

Stealth technology is essential for modern aircraft operating in environments with sophisticated air defense systems. But while stealth fighters and bombers like the F-22 and B-2 are common, stealth helicopters are rare, almost nonexistent, due to inherent design challenges such as loud turbine exhaust, fuselage vibrations, and noisy tail rotors, making it difficult for them to operate undetected.
However, there have been some attempts to create a true stealth helicopter. One of the most notable efforts was the Boeing-Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche helicopter from the 1990s. This helicopter featured advanced materials and coatings to reduce its radar signature. Despite these innovations, the project was canceled in 2004 after $7 billion was spent, with no operational units produced.

The comanche can search & destroy drones, radars, artillery, infantry, tanks, missiles & apcs more faster than the apache in Ukraine. It can also save infantry trapped inside enemy controlled territory faster than apache.
