When I said about a monitor using USB-C and power delivery, I meant the monitor is by powered by USB-C using the same cable for video to the computer, not one that charges a laptop!
They're actually plenty of portable options that do just this, they take power from the same USBC cable from any USB-C port that supports video out as well as power delivery? Although in terms of pass-through IO, it's still just a USBC, need a hub to really plug anything else into it, the one I have is from a company called arzopa
Nice, i knew there had to be some agp slot cards that were not gpus. I've also seen agp-pcie adapter on a specific asrock gpu card. As for USBC powered monitors, yes, in the past years there are lots of solutions, specially in corporate environment, USBC powered conferencing monitors (that also act as hubs). +subcribed
I have an AGP to PCI adapter here so I can even install sound cards, LAN or controller cards etc. on the AGP connection. It's funny 😄 I'm currently using it to connect a GeForce GTX 960 to the AGP port via PCIe to PCI adapter. However, it only works x1 speed.
Ah yes Green = 12V for touchscreens, scanners, payment terminals etc. Red = 24V usually for receipt printers. The Dell Optiplex XE range and HP's equivalent have cards available to provide this.
@@NaokisRC I've never seen a the 5V high powered USB, But i have a Toshiba rebranded IBM POS machine with 5/12v Serial connectors. Which i didn't know were a thing.
Until recently I didn't knew a thing about that VESA display connector, nice to seen it being mentioned here, it is used on my VooDoo 3 3500TV, I just hope the short DELL cable I ordered even before I received that card arrive soon 😅
Loved seeing the ADC brought up. I’ve never owned a Mac but I do own a 27” HD Cinema Display from I believe the 90’s or early 2000’s that I had to buy a Apple external PSU/DVI/USB to ADC adapter to use it with a PC. IMO, it’s a beautiful display getting a second or third life with the external brick. Subscribed, Thanks for the interesting retro content for us tinkerers!
We actually sell such a monitor like you described in our shop (in Gloucester) It features USB-C with 100W power delivery, a usb3 hub, displayport out to connect to another monitor, ethernet (1G) and the worst webcam I've ever seen. You can also daisychain using displayport only (we've not tried this). It's made by Targus the laptop bag people. Its a 24" IPS display.
Yeah. I have a portable monitor that runs only using a usb-c cable. It's powered from the device that is connected to it. And also has a microusb otg on it that can be used as a hub
I am so glad i stumbled upon your channel. You've got aome cool stuff and in a fun format. I usually despise host on chromakey videos but yours are great. Can't wait to see what else you're gonna be posting. ❤❤
Quite the late comment, but I do own one of those POS PCs. It's an HP that's basically a cost reduced HP Compaq D530 SFF mode with the 845GV chipset and an AGP slot of some sorts alongside a PCI slot for a riser card.
Look at the Dell video conference monitors like the C2422HE. They provide USB-C power to laptops, have a local hub for sound, webcam and USB-B gen 3.2 and USB-C ports and can even daisy chain another monitor over Display Port.
@@NaokisRC no problem, I have an AOC 16T2 that can be powered by the same USB-C cable as it gets video. It’s a 16” portable display that also as an internal battery.

@@NaokisRC ah yes. Sorry I didn’t pick up on that. In which case, no I’m not aware of many that do run on PD and none that have a usb hub as well. (The ones that do are the portable 15”6 monitors etc)
@@NaokisRC Yeah I can get that. But I am saying it's not the same.. You can do it all under a modern pc with emulation.. So why spend more doing it under old hardware. Makes no sense to me. But to each their own.
I disagree to an extent. There is something different about messing with the real hardware that you dont get with the emulation. Its deffo not like BITD when it was your working computer and it was something you had to live with, its just enjoying the fun side of it without the reliance on it.
You are aware you have no obligation to click on UA-cam videos that are clearly of no interest to you, yes? Perhaps you would prefer MrBeast's extensive body of work. All of the things he wastes his money on are brand new.

My docking station at work uses USB-C thunderbolt port that also delivers up to130 watts of power to my laptop.

Ah thats interesting to know, and thank you for the sub!
The 12 & 24 volt USB ports are very common on the Diebold/Nixdorf Beetle M-II and M-III POS PC's.

Never knew that AGP has USB.
I DID know what it was from the thumb nail but I did not expect it to be AGP!
you have a great voice and are really skilled in making these videos, also the subjects are super interesting! love your channel man

I suppose what I meant was that it was entirely powered by the computer, not that it includes a USB-PD charger 😅
Well I guess this is the other way round. the screen powering the PC

Apparently there were RAID cards on AGP too.

Odd little card. Clever too. I never knew AGP had USB in its spec. Do the port still work as regular USB?
Yep!
