No I didn't.. I started where factory navigation starts. If you want a whole video on the screen you can check this one out: ua-cam.com/video/lVJKtz9JWzg/v-deo.html
How do you change your current location as mine has me somewhere an hr away ?? When I hit gas prices it is showing an hr away also and that is where my current location is set too ??Thanks Rick
It could just need a restart.. Press and hold both the Volume Down and Seek Right buttons on the steering wheel controls for 10 seconds. Do it twice in a row and see if that works. If it doesn't the next one would be to do a factory reset under Settings --> General
It's not available in the SE trim and is optional in the SEL, ST-Line, Titanium 300a and ST 400a. If you have on of those and did not add in the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package you won't have it.. You'll have to connect through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and use navigation from your phone --> ua-cam.com/video/lVJKtz9JWzg/v-deo.html
Steve, this is a great video and your style is easy to follow. Keep up the great work. How is this different than Apple Maps or how is this feature better than or equal to Apple Maps?
Thanks Jav, appreciate that! Sync4 nav is satellite based - that does eventually need a subscription vs Apple Maps runs off phone data. Big benefit to factory nav is that you wouldn't have to worry about roaming charges if you're travelling between Canada and the US
I paired my pixel to the vehicle’s blue tooth and i used to be able to see Google maps on the car’s monitor. For some reasons, i do not see navigation anymore when i pair my phone and use Google maps anymore. Any suggestions?
When you're connecting, are you doing it through Android Auto? Factory navigation will run if you're only connected over bluetooth but once you flip to AA it'll give you the available maps from your phone!
Hello, Steve. The icon in the upper left corner is a house. Can it be changed to the car like yours, on the 2023 Edge Titanium? We just took delivery on May 11, 2023.
Steve nice video but I just got my ford edge 2024 today and the "Where to?" option is no where to be found on my large navigation screen. On your screen it is on the top left. Is there something that I need to activate like ford pass/connect?
ok found it. Brutal but I guess you have to enable fordconnect and fordpass. I didnt have to do that with my 2020. Once enabled all the navigation features showed up
Hey! Yes, you need to have FordPass set up in the Edge when you have the Sync 4a screen with only the Connected Navigation. You should have 1 year of connected services but the map will revert to a "dead" map if you don't continue on after the 1st year
@@CarsWithSteve Thanks yeah it took me a while to figure it out as I had no instructions and the owners guide was no help. well thats lame. My old edge didnt require anything like this for the nav. I can see the traffic or realtime options not working but the nav? sheesh Oh well. apple car play will do just fine.
Haha the owner's guide gong show is why I created this channel in the first place. It's unfortunate that Ford shifted to a subscription only in the Edge and that's happening with a number of different models in 2024 too. I'm the same way with CarPlay, use Waze or Google Maps all the time
@@CarsWithSteve in previous Ford’s there was an SD card for navigation or has Ford clued in and now we need to have a paid subscription? We just bought a 2024 Ford Edge and we are liking the Ford Navigation and the OK Ford commands
You need to set up navigation through the FordPass app now in the 2024 models. Download the FordPass app, scan your VIN on the driver side door and you should have an option to activate navigation. It's unfortunately a connected navigation in the 2024 model now so after the 1 year of service is up you need to subscribe in order to keep using it. PITA for sure so I'd run off CarPlay or Android Auto maps instead...
How do you get to that screen? My husband's 2024 Edge only shows his phone apps. Hitting the home button only takes him to a menu for stting options. We are soooo frustrated!
Ah, navigation would be there if your Edge has the Co-Pilot360 Assist+ Package. You'd have both navigation and Adaptive Cruise Control with that pack and it would also show on the window sticker. If you don't have it, you'd need to connect an Android or iPhone and setup Android Auto or Apple CarPlay to use navigation that way instead. This video explains how that's done --> ua-cam.com/video/lVJKtz9JWzg/v-deo.html
Then it should definitely be under that screen! Send me a pic on Facebook @CarsWithSteve or Instagram @RealCarsWithSteve so that I can see what yours looks like
The SE/SEL had navigation as an option and unfortunately it can’t just be added in if yours doesn’t have it. You’d either need to look at a screen replacement with one that has it or run off Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
You’d need to have connected services active to get it. Use the Ford Pass app on your phone or login online to see if yours is active. If it is active and weather isn’t working your Ford dealer will have to look at it. There are a number of people in forums saying their weather is the only feature not working
You started in the middle, start at the beginning
No I didn't.. I started where factory navigation starts. If you want a whole video on the screen you can check this one out: ua-cam.com/video/lVJKtz9JWzg/v-deo.html
Can you disable the safety feature to allow to enter a location while driving?
There's always the option of using the voice command prompt to navigate but if you're handy you should be able to use Forscan to do it

Hi Steve can you use voice prompts and tones for the guidance prompts because on the older sync 2 and 3 you can use both or one
Check out the 2:00 mark of the video
@@CarsWithSteve thanks that helped
anytime!
Can I change the map colors instead of just black and white?
I wish! Not an option in the Ford lineup unfortunately
Hello, Steve. The icon in the upper left corner is a house. Can it be changed to the car like yours, on the 2023 Edge Titanium? We just took delivery on May 11, 2023.
Unfortunately not.. gets changed depending on which version of sync 4 is used
How can i install the ford mavigation if this is not pre installed on my ford edge 2024?
No way to just install it aftermarket. You need to replace the screen with on that actually has it and then have it programmed to your VIN

Why don't I see a search adress option on the 24 Ford edge Titanium? Once I click the navigation button there is no option to search for an address.

Thank you so much 😅
You’re welcome!
Is there a way to set the map to north up?
Look for the icon the says 3D with an arrow pointing up!
Does the screen split to show the highway exits as you approach? If not I'll still use my Garmin.
It would show you the lane/exits available, moving from express to collector lanes etc
How do you turn the volume up. I am hard of hearing and I can't hear her?
Use the audio volume rocker for the radio. There's no way to increase just the nav volume by itself
On navigation, how do you change from metric to US units (mph, miles)?
Press the car icon, head to
Settings --> General --> Distance
and change to miles
I don't have that option on my 2022 ford edge?

Anyone know how to use trip logs? It leaves bread crumbs, great for offroading.
Breadcrumbs seemed to have been removed 🤔 Next time I'm in an Edge with connected Nav I'll double check but I don't think it's available
How to save current location.
Having trouble using the voice feature. You should do a video on that.
Good idea on a video, thanks!
How do I use weather option on navigation screen?

Can this be retrofitted into a 2020 Ford Edge?
The programming part of it would be a challenge. I haven't seen it done yet but in theory it should be doable
How can I make my Android auto map as big as the navigation map?
As of right now there's no full screen option but some Sync4 systems have been updated for full screen Apple CarPlay. It may come to Android Auto soon
Does it show the mph on the screen?
Not on the infotainment screen but it may in the cluster depending on the trim level you have
Does the Sync 4 have the bread crumbs feature?
Good question...
I can not find it
Bummer, I love that function on the sync 3
@@angelberrios7843 I have it on mine but it stops recording at 40 mph and it’s not always there , bit hit and miss

Very big screen. I mean it is too much.
They could have cut down the size a bit and left the HVAC controls physical buttons. But alas.. here we are

Est-ce que l'affichage en anglais mais expliqué en français fonctionnerait ?
