@marcosbryant27 down to earth, super guy,one of the best country voices, talented beyond comprehension, unbelievable dude.miss him badly .just like all the superstars from the 60s 70s 50s...😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊.
Ok, I have to add this... Eddie was a great kisser too! Years ago I was in line after one of his live concerts to get his autograph and I saw him lean over and kiss the woman in line in front of me! After she left I guess I was in shock and he said to me" are you ok? Do you want a kiss too? " I said yes and he leaned over the table and kissed me but..... It wasn't just on my lips...he put his tounge IN MY MOUTH! A day and concert I will NEVER forget 😊
This is what real country music sounds like, no auto tune or lip syncing needed. Just a great song sung by a talented artist who loves his music. Country music today needs more soul music like this
God...I miss Eddie Rabbitt!!! Was he gorgeous or what? I saw him in Ft. Worth Tx...and I got to meet him in his dressing room. I was introduced and he came up to me shook my hand...then he kissed me. ON THE LIPS!!! I thought I would die! Anyway. ..a very sweet n classy guy. I will never forget that nite. Music lost a true legend. RIP...
Eddie Rabbitt might have been one of the more underrated country artists of the 70's and 80's. And folks forget that "Nashville on the Road" was one of the most popular television programs in all of syndication back in those days too.
I heard of eddie back then but not Nashville on the road today is the first time. I wouldn't say underrated he had quite a few number 1 hits, just maybe a bit more air play would of been good, but like Gary Stewart and Tommy Overstreet he was good at what he did, just not quite played on the radio as much as I would of thought considering how good they all were
eddy rabbit never be for got for history of elvis presley wrote for him and other singer wrote music for music never ever dies carry on for life even u die still there carry on dose matter what year look at it still be there with fans play his music
I saw Eddie and Crystal Gayle when they came out with "Just you and I". Such a great concert. Eddie was a tremendous Songwriter and a great singer as well. Love his music. I remember during that concert that he strummed his Guitar so hard that he broke some strings.
Recently I was reading names of the members of the Country Music Hall of Fame. SHOCKED that Eddie was never inducted! He certainly deserves to be among those honored
Personally, I not only think Eddie should be inducted, but he should be inducted with his partners in crime David Malloy, and Even Stevens. The trio of them together made Eddie Rabbitt what he became. Eddie is absolutely a Legend and one of my all time favorites, but Even and David were the guys behind the scenes that completed the whole package. Eddie would tell the same if he were able!
On this day in 1977 {June 5th} "I Can't Help Myself"* by Eddie Rabbitt peaked at #2 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart, for the week it was at #2, the #1 record for that week was "Luckenbach, Texas (Back To The Basics of Love)" by Waylon Jennings... "I Can't Help Myself" reached #5 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart... Between 1974 and 1991 the Brooklyn, NY native had forty-one records on the Hot Country Singles chart, thirty-four made the Top 10 with sixteen* reaching #1, andc in the period from May of 1980 to February of 1982 his had five consecutive #1 records.... Two of his forty-one charted records were duets, one each with Crystal Gayle and Juice Newton... Sadly, Edward Thomas Rabbitt passed away at the young age of 56 on May 7th, 1998 {lung cancer}... May he R.I.P. * "I Can't Help Myself" was Eddie Rabbitt's first of three of his records to peak at #2, his other two #2 records were "Hearts On Fire" {1978} and "I Don't Know Where To Start" {1982}... And from the 'For What It's Worth' department, the remainder of the Hot Country Singles Top 10 on June 5th, 1977: At #3. "Married But Not To Each Other" by Barbara Mandrell #4. "Your Man Loves You, Honey" by Tom T. Hall #5. "If We're Not Back In Love By Monday" by Merle Haggard #6. "That Was Yesterday" by Donna Fargo #7. "I'll Do It All Over Again" by Crystal Gayle #8. "It's A Cowboy Lovin' Night" by Tanya Tucker #9. "Burning Memories" by Mel Tillis #10. "I Was There" by the Statler Brothers
Eddie Rabbitt is absolutely incredible. The first time I saw him in concert I was only 14 years old, I was hooked. I went whenever I could and was fortunate enough to see him many times over the years. Devistated that he is no longer with us to bless us with more of his amazing music. I listen to what he left behind, he is true Country.

Eddie was one who should have been recognized more but I understand he didn't want to that much. He had lost a son or daughter at one time several years ago and he never really recovered from the terrible tragedy . he continued in the music business for some time before cancer got him and took him away from us so soon. The music business is a hard one to get into but he also got a big break from another famous singer who got him a cut and he continued from there. I love this song as a kid and love it still fifty years later. Its beautiful and he had more ideas he had in the works but never finished them. May you sing for us with the angels Eddie. You are very much missed and very well loved by your fans. I miss you Eddie and I know others do miss u just as much. Rest in peace Eddie. Miss you and your music.

This is what real country music sounds like, no auto tune or lip syncing needed. Just a great song sung by a talented artist who loves his music. Country music today needs more soul music like this
Its because they have removed the GOSPEL influences.
